The Nipah virus is unlikely to cause a global pandemic because the high mortality rate makes it very tough to spread. In addition, the virus spread via direct contact with contaminated food, animals, or people, primarily through secretions and excrement such as saliva, poop, and tissue. Covid was a airborne virus which spreads much quicker and affects a much larger population. The Nipah Virus is an issue in certain parts of the world and hopefully there will be a cure for them, but do not posture this as the next Covid 19. you are spreading misinfo.

You know how many deadly viruses spring up these days? A lot!

It takes a very specific set of circumstances for a disease to spread and become a full on global pandemic. Not every new virus that gets in the news is the next COVID.

Keep an eye out and wash your hands a little more if you gotta, but right now all you’re doing is freaking people (and mostly yourself) out.

This area has seen outbreaks of the Nipah virus for decades now, and scientists over there keep it under watch a lot. There's no cure or anything but they're trying to keep it contained the best they can. I trust the words of doctors and scientists on this matter.
