I'd rather have online that's good.

This so much, like yeah good netcode won't happen with this game, there's too much **** to sort through with it and the Switch is laughably weak
But even just going to For Fun and For Glory would be a huge improvement to fighting randos instead of praying you get the ruleset you prefer and it'd also be nice to get a lobby system that isn't complete ****ing dog****.

But next time around, if there's no rollback they're not getting any greenback.

Yeah, I'm tired of all the discourse, arguing and leaks, fake or legitimate to care about Smash speculation much anymore.

Whenever a new game does get announced, I probably won't be there to talk about much besides character support. Maybe I'll make another Tetra support thread. Throw my hat in the ring and support characters like SKull Kid, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, Bandana Dee and some new Pokemon again. But I'm not gonna be there for any more leak talk or arguing about "deserved" or "shoe-in" characters who are "iconic" or who "stole slots" from other characters again lmao.

I fine with Speculation, but only when there is something to talk about.

Very little happened between 3DS/Wii U and Ultimate so discussion was just a continued extension of what was already there, and how Ultimate handled reveals/news was in large meals rather than bite sized daily chunks like previous games.

Aside from an obvious Ultimate port with all DLC included, let Smash rest for a console generation so that new franchises can come about and old series receive new entries to pull inspiration from.

I get where you're coming from, but at the same time, it's like... why?


Trust me, I get that Ultimate is a gift, and having THIS massive of a crossover is a once in a lifetime thing(Ever since Marvel vs Capcom ****ing died), but it'd honestly feel shallow.


Partly because Sora was hyped up as the FINAL character, and frankly outside of Ryu from Streets, I can't think of a character better than Sora who encompasses the whole "Crossover" aspect better than Sora does.

And another part is just, Smash is 5 years old, and with its poopoo online, what are you really gonna do with 'em that you haven't done a thousand times in the past? Do Classic Mode, do 100 Man Melee for the checkmark, and then.... what? Ultimate's single player content really is lacking. It's not....bad, but it's lacking.


I just feel like adding a whole new fighter's pass that would almost assuredly drag onto 2025, would feel just exhausting and pointless.

I get that, but at that point it feels better to just, make the next Smash ya know? It feels like, and has felt like for awhile that Ultimate is 'done', which I'm pretty sure that Sakurai himself even said in the Sora presentation. Spirits are just bonus content added on top that really don't mean anything.

I was awake for this three times and after 2019 I learned my lesson and never tuned in again.

Ironically the first time I missed the show was when they announced Sephiroth because I was completely cut off from all social media so I had no idea there would be a Smash reveal, but I don't think watching it live would've made it that much better for me tbh

For me, I watched the 2018 show but turned it off before Joker got revealed.

2019 watched and suffered.

2020 my grandmother passed away overnight on the day of the show so I decided to skip it… until Nintendo said the next reveal was there, so I watched the reveal then bailed.

2021 and 2022 yeah I have no excuse.

Maybe I’ll play some of the new Pinball FX tables instead… would be more entertaining (and commercial free)
