The fact of the matter is that only the elite of the elite make it out of pools at very large tournies.

TSA isn't there yet.

Luck is also a factor, Marcel. The lack of sleep is also a factor. Cactuar and I should have made it out, but no johns eh? FC was still fun though :p

Lack of sleep was a huge factor. I lost to some random guy that I shouldnt have. I know this cause I played him the next day and was constantly 2-3 stocking him. I should have made it to third round of pools.

Oh well. FC was still mad fun.

The fact that you guys also didn't get enough sleep shows your level common sense or lack thereof. This also shows whether or not someone should be making it out of pools.

The point is get enough sleep and eat breakfast dammit!!!! lol.

Yea I slept fine at the church. MUCH better than sleeping in a car/van imo. I cant sleep in vehicles for long periods of time. I'd sleep for like 30 min and then be awake for 2 hours. Repeat lol.

EL, I would have been the first to get a good night's sleep were it possible but the drive was miserable and by the time we got there it was too late for a full night. Doesn't have much to do with common sense if you know the whole story.

lol Good luck, Pakman. P.S. I have your shirt! It's 25 bucks but you only have to give me 20 if you buy premium and PM mcfox and tell him to change your name to Pakman. <3

lol i couldnt get enough sleep for the third round of pools because i entered the ssb64 tournamnet the night before and that ran until like 5 am in the morning. I made it to the finals and lost to isai. I had a better chance of earning money in ssb than ssbm so logically I made the better decision :p

Sounds to me like a few of you made conscience decisions to not go to bed and get enough rest.

Anybody wanna go to the biweekly this Friday at web2zone? Registration starts at 5Pm and the tourney starts at 6pm. Woz is confirmed on going and raptorhawk, Do and Pocky will probably come as well. I was thinking we could all carpool there and split the cost of gas/toll/parking so it would be cheaper/faster than taking the train.

what's the plan exactly

i get off work at 5 so i get home around 5:20 =\

i can go wherever straight from work, but it's also rush hour so i don't know how well that would work either -_-

Well the venue is an hour away from my place so I was thinking about leaving around 4 so we can get there around 5pm. Another thing I wanted to do was for everybody that would be in the carpool meet up at your place, pocky, since you're basically in the center of TSA. Would everybody be OK with that? I think I remember pocky saying it was ok for us to park our cars at pocky's place.

yeah and since i'm probably can't make it that early it doesn't make sense to meet at my place anyway (though you could if you really wanted to for some very weird reason -_-)

i live in an apartment complex with free parking that doesn't come close to filling up until about 11 p.m. ;)

lame -_-

anyone doing anything saturday? i was thinking of going up to CT (esp if anyone else wants to come, but small chance i'd go anyway; it's 2 hrs) or maybe bum's (only if anyone else goes; i hate going to the city alone)

just some mediocre smashfest type thing

they are actually having a ranking tournament but since I (we?) am not a CT'er, i wouldn't be a part of that anyway

there's just so little else going on this weekend (and i just assume people don't want to go to NYC two days in a row, and i don't want to go alone)

edit: thread here - http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=109737

i would probably go early saturday and meet up with swiftbass earlier in the day, crash at his place that night, then come back sunday morning-afternoon

how nice to live in such a small state where such a rankings system is feasible x.x

(whining about PA, not about NJ, which is just as small as CT -_-)

I don't mind going to CT to play some smashers there.

Unfortunately, I'm doing something Saturday evening, so unless I can get out of that, it's a no go for me.

I can't carpool anyone at the moment since I need to get the car maintainenced after the FC trip. If I do get out of Saturday, I'd love to go to CT.

It's funny, but driving 2 hours feels like nothing now compared to driving 14 hours to the Midwest.
