Get a Phanpy. It can evolve. and, it must know Rollout at all times (preferably find a way for it to have the move as soon as you receive it, but it isn't necessary). Name it "Ludacris".

Dude, I've had Earthquake miss thrice in a row. My opponent was not Flying-type, a Levitator, Shedinja, or a Pokemon with any +evasion boosts. I did not receive any accuracy drops.

Hm...should we have a Hax Discussion thread?

It can.

Plus there simply is no other way for it to miss.

Unless this is RBY where theres a .0000059604644775390625% chance of missing with 3 in a row due to poor programming.

And no, that number was not random, that was the actual probability.

Did trainers in FireRed even carry items on their Pokemon...?

Any Pokemon. Name must start with an F. Must be named FFFFFFFFFF. Must have at least one move that starts with an F learned by level 20. That move must be on the Pokemon at all times after it can be learned. If it gains any more moves that start with an F it must keep those as well.

Is this for me? If so, is there even a poke that fits all your criteria, is never a dual-type, and available in Ruby or the first two gens?

Team so far:
- Gardevoir (M) named "Problems"
- Abra named "Tacgnol" that cannot evolve and must know Flash and Teleport
- Sudowoodo named "Mr. Mime" that must always have a special offensive move
- Phanpy named "Ludacris" that must always know Rollout
- Machamp (F) named "Problems"

Any more suggestions for my mono-types Ruby run?

Its name is Furret.
I had considered Furret, but wasn't sure if it learned an appropriate move soon enough.

- Furret named "FFFFFFFFFF" that must have a move that starts with F learned by level 20 and must be on it at all times along with any other moves that start with F it learns

Any other suggestions?

Don't you only just get 6 suggested Pokemon?

HELL YEAH

Bulbapedia lied to me, there are Marill that aren't in the Water.

Got a Hasty Huge Power Marill and a Timid (lol...) Numel.
Marill evolved after I leveled him up three times.

Alright, I started my Ruby Scramble and will post a summary later after I have made decent progress.

I am wondering what I should do about the Machamp I was given since I am unable to trade. Should I catch a Machop, raise it, then when I'm ready to evolve it catch a Champ? Or should I just wait even longer to obtain it and just have it start as 'champ?

I didn't suggest Snubbull did I?

And SpiredMoth, are you opening your question up to us or to the person who suggested using Machampe?

So you can't get Snubbull until after the Elite Four.
Can you even catch a Snubbull in Emerald? D: If you want I could give you something else, since I didn't know if you wanted another one from the same person, but if you don't care...
>>>>:/

Offer still open lol.

I'm stuck on Wattson right now. >.> He's even harder now than he was in my Nuzlocke run... Having 2 Electric-weaks and 1 Electric-neutral (who currently sucks) on my team is bad business. Though he does have more/stronger Pokemon in Emerald than Sapphire, but still.

---

As for the Machamp issue, you really have three options, all of which are viable and should be legal: keep it as a Machoke, catch it as a Machamp from the start (catching it after that is weird), or take a replacement request (since his request of "getting a Machamp" is legitimately impossible when you said that you couldn't trade). Personally I would just take another request, but if you'd rather not, leaving it as a Machoke is best IMO. It's still usable, makes things more challenging, and I dislike having it in its best form from the start.

I meant I would catch Machop early (say right after beating the first gym), raise it normally, then after it was a Machoke and I was ready to evolve it, I would catch a Machamp to replace it.

If I had it start as 'Champ, I would wait, until somewhere later like Lilycove, to catch it instead to avoid "having it in its best form from the start."

I understand what you were suggesting, I just wanted to clarify the choices I gave.

Anyone else want to offer thier opinion on this?

Do it however you'd like. Personally I'd have it start as machop, then catch a machamp a bit after you get machoke.

Half of my playthrough was just this:

..which is pretty cool, I guess.

And then I won.

Oooh... the suspense...

Hall of Fame!

Yeah, I used Mence. But he evolved after Sidney, and only really helped during the battle with Drake.

And, the whole crew:

Shedinja is a beast. Shedinja took out Gyarados, Wishcash, and Wailord single-handedly.
Numel was fairly useless until I got Earthquake and taught it Flamethrower. It had its moments, though.
Salamence didn't really do anything aside from help with Drake.
Tropius's Magical Leaf was awesome, hitting Wallace's Ludicolo through Double Team. Learning Fly is a great plus, and Body Slam is great for paralyzing.
Slakoth was pretty much useless. Vigoroth was heavily used mid-game, though his usefulness declined slightly towards the end, basically just Yawning things. A 100% accurate sleep move is incredibly useful, though.
Azumarill was great mid-game. It's unfortunate that he got stuck with Strength, Surf, Waterfall, and Dive, though the good type coverage made up for it. Azumarill's Strength and Rollout was very useful.

Whoo hoo BallRat got to the end of this :D

Since my old file on my Emerald isn't working anymore and I got a legit copy of sapphire, anyone care to start suggesting any 6 other pokemon? Must be before the 4th gym.

And no trying to be mean. I can take 1 pokemon with crappy moves, but I want to go through this quickly. This is just my excuse to get myself another Kyogre and clone the master ball that comes with it.

So... no suggestions for me?

Only restrictions are that I only want at most 1 cruel pokemon and that it must be caught before the 4th gym

Get a Poochyena. It must have a physical move, a special move, and two non-attacking moves at all times starting from level 13 (since that's when it becomes possible). You can replace any of the moves with an HM move if you need it, but you can't use that move in battle. Name it whatever you want, but you must name it.

Playthrough of Pokémon FireRed, no trading. Must be obtainable by fourth gym(s).
You can get the Super Rod before you have to face Erika, right? Get a Psyduck. It must have Damp and you must send it out against any Pokemon that CAN know Self-Destruct or Explosion by level-up (Geodude, Koffing, Voltorb basically) until it dies, regardless of the situation (unless you want to run, if it's a wild Pokemon), and regardless of whether or not they actually do know it at the time. Name it "Bomb Squad".
