I really loved how Rosalina sounded in World Tour and you know what I'm dreading how Laura's Rosalina will be.

Anyone else?

It seems that Rosalina is fitting well with the other Mario characters, and making natural sounds that anyone would make when playing sports, making it more believable. While it doesn't sound as heavenly without the echo and special space effects, she still sounds authentic in terms of conveying emotions, reactions and etc.

I'm just happy that they're combining Rosalina's magical abilities from each sport games she was in into one, which shows that it's consistent with her gameplay portrayal, if not, more. It's marvelous knowing Rosalina can elegantly play sports, and have unique animations as well as new ones, like in soccer where you see animations like this and more in other sports. I would love it if they actually make artworks of Rosalina, but it may be unlikely, but there are chances of late additions or something for you to find yourself.

I love how her special shot in football is a dolphin kick. Seems dolphin based moves are going to be a running thing for her. This special shot looks a lot like her N-air in Smash.

Aside from the obvious horrible sounds Rosalina makes , you can seeher special shot.

On a side note , i think she is animated badly in this game. When she scores at 1:25 and celebrates her animations look wonky.

Also, the pantyhose are definitely a darker colour in this game.

That new animation is lovely. I agree with Swiftie however, her overall... animations are a bit quirky. I suppose that's because of the 3DS system, as she simply wouldn't have looked like that on a home console.

Yeah but then it would have been way too similar to the White Mage and i wouldnt like that.

Also i dont like her idle animation here , it looks like her head is falling. Also the way she spins when selected is too forced and happens way to fast , it's not smooth at all.

She is not floating straight like in US or the Olympics , or any other game.

There's going to be more animations for Rosalina, we can tell since her we didn't see neither special shots from baseball, tennis or golf. We didn't get to see her special Baseball shot yet, considering that the other has it too. By the way, there's more footage of Rosalina in equestrian in this video, and I don't know if it's whether the motion or just a design, but it looks like there's a slit in the back of the dress.

Aside from all the Rosalina's unique animations, I'm still upset that they didn't show the Lumas at all. I do hope that they will at least be in her Golf cutscene, since I don't understand whenever she wears the sport attire, her children isn't present.

Considering the fact that the Luma was a legit playable character in Mario Tennis Open, this should be an opportunity for Nintendo to incorporate them into sporting games. Not only does that show us their relevance and importance, but knowing they are connected to Rosalina will make it interesting if Rosalina and Luma are separate characters. Either they're a duo (Like in Smash and Mario Kart Wii) or separate characters in each games, and knowing that Nintendo is capable of doing it, so I don't think there'd be any real excuse not to use them as characters. At the very least, they'd be in Rosalina's golf animations.

I just don't like the idea that the Lumas have to be inherently tied to Rosalina, as if they're a package deal. It's a disservice to both characters.

It's not like every Luma ever stays with Rosalina. Lubba and his crew do their own thing in Galaxy 2.

True. Rosalina and Lumas deserve their own separate spotlight at times. I believe the reason that they are tied to one another in spin-offs is due to Rosalina being the mother of Lumas, and that also they shared a tragic past in Rosalina's backstory, knowing they hold a close bond. But yeah, it wouldn't hurt to have them be individual playable characters.

I guess my problem is that Rosalina's tennis outfit has been made to look highly similar to that of Peach and Daisy; it's a sleeveless dress.

Rosalina is another main Mario female in the human category that sports a crown..

They already have the same Biker suit , so this is not a problem.

Golf is not as active as Tennis.

Rosalina using her normal gown during active sports would look like a mess , her sports attire is much more fitting.

Also judging by Rosalina's US texture , her stockings were never really white , besides in the game and her render.

They are actually a darker tone of her skin , and the result is warm gray.

I guess they have a closer look to the actual texture in Sports Super Stars because of the 3DS graphics since MK7 has darker textures and the characters look brighter in the game.

Also this custom render has the actual color for her stockings , which is warm gray , again as the result of a darker tone of her own skin.

I'm not understanding her pantyhose... In some sports, it seems white to bright grey and in others, it's dark grey... Maybe it's the level of transparency, or that she switches pantyhose? Honestly, I have a lot of question about her wardrobe, actually... One thing I like to mention is that since she's wearing her sport dress, they added the void due to the situation and setting the active sports warrants. There seems to be alot of movements, bendings and etc.

There would be some sports where the default dress wouldn't work too well. But considering that Rosalina levitates a lot, she could potentially get away with wearing her typical dress for tennis and baseball. Not so much for football (soccer) though.

I like Rosalina's victory animations. They're very nice. Also, Luma would be much cooler than PGP, and replace Metal Mario with Dry Bones so Boo can have a partner.


On a different topic, I just signed up to an acting school. Maybe one day you'll see me in a Live action Nintendo adventure, I'd love to play Link, although I wouldn't want to pierce my ears. I just hope I'll still be able to afford the switch.

It varies. It's red in Football, Baseball and Horse racing. The same as Bowser, Wario and DK.

Does it vary for other characters as well?

I think making her Power in Horse Racing but whatever blue is in Golf seems a little backwards, though. Don't see what being a Power character would bring to Horse Racing, and she has been Power in Golf before.

Unless the colours don't represent a universal class and differ by sport.

It seems that certain characters have their typing changed, depending on the sport that's being played. If that Twitter image is for Tennis, I can probably guess the following...

Green = All-Around
Yellow = Speedy
Blue = Technical
Orange = Defensive
Red = Powerful
Magenta = Tricky

Even though she varies for each sport, like the other characters, she's still at my favorite spot in the roster, along with Bowser, DK, and Wario representing her toughness. Has anyone wondered if the emblem shield thing changes if her type changes as well?
