Important The Ridley for SSB4 Thread - End of an Era

Ok guys I saw a Ridley-shaped cloud on the cover of Half-Life 3 which was given to me by the Illuminati. I think he's confirmed

Ridley is my number 1 character but can someone tell me why everyone is against dark pit.I thunk having both Rildey and Dark pit would be awesome.Both could have every unique moveset and be awesome additions

First of all, Kid Icarus already has a newcomer. Having two wouldn't be so bad, if KI had more than 3 friggin games. And of all the possible newcomers, why choose the blatant clone? Magnus, Viridi, Hades, Pandora, friggin MEDUSA would be better newcomer choices than Dark Pit.

And yeah, one COULD make unique movesets and colors and whatever, but what would be the point of decloning a literal clone in every sense of the word? For an "all-star" character game, Dark Pit is an atrocious choice.

But yeah, Riddles is great.

I was busy today and don't want to read through all the new pages. So, what exactly does the new "leak" mean for Ridley? Thanks!

The new leak doesn't change his position much. The leakers claimed there were still undiscovered characters, and seeing as many franchises are still lacking a much-needed newcomer, namely DK and Metroid, his chances remain what they were prior. So while the leak doesn't hurt his chances, it doesn't confirm him like it does for other characters, assuming it's true, of course.

I do think Ridley's chances are higher as a result of no other Metroid representative however, and also considering how well it aligns with the Ninka leak which states him on the roster.

Literally the only difference between Pit and Pittoo is color and voice inflection, which can be covered by an alt.

Is there any way we could... you know, tone it down on the pony stuff? Seems like a strange thing to ask in a "Ridley" thread of all things. Not against bronies or whatever but it's kinda irrelevant and it makes my friend (who wishes to remain anonymous) a little uncomfortable.

i am seriously curious, how is it something that isnt offensive at all makes someone uncomfortable to the point where others' freedom must be restricted?

look, i can understand that people need to hide flashing imagery cause that can cause serious injury to some, and even reaction gifs and videos should be placed in spoiler tags, preferably so they dont bog down the thread so much.

but simple emotes?

excuse me for sounding annoyed...

anyway, if we dont get a newcomer announcement next week, i have to wonder when they could POSSIBLY reveal ridley... i would say maybe the week before japanese release, but if someone gets the game really early, that could completely spoil any trailer... the longer they wait, the more likely ridley's status will be revealed by a random player, wasting all the hype that was built up.

my hype is already dropping considerably... sakurai needs to reveal ridley next week, or this is will all have gone to waste.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. Sakurai may be a troll sometimes, but he isn't a complete jerk. I'm sure that they are are using a good design for Ridley, and not some garbage like the NES art one.

On topic: Regarding Ridley's Final Smash, I do believe it should be his Wall Grind attack from Metroid Other M and Dead or Alive. I think that Final Smash would suit him in Smash Bros, because that was BORN in the Smash Bros universe, essentially, Ridley's Falcon Punch. (Something that originated in Super Smash Bros that later was referenced in the home series in some shape or form)

I hope that is his final smash, it's become a staple of Ridley nowadays. The other idea for a final smash is the space pirate raid, which would be pretty sweet. But by far the funniest idea I've heard is a final smash is one where he turns super sized and just flies across the stage. That would be hilarious! I could just imagine all the faces of the people who said he was too big after seeing that final smash!

But, all leaks aside, I still believe that Ridley is playable, and that we as a group should just be happy that at this point in time Ridley is still possible. There is too much teasing on Sakurai's part, and the POTD on the Pyrosphere anniversary (which I think wasn't even a POTD, NOE posted it on Twitter in a POTD style post) just sealed my belief that he is in. Why show the Pyrosphere with the caption "Fight me!" with the only character with extraordinarily similar wing patterns? This all just adds up. To be fair though on a detractor's point of view (don't hurt me), they made an entire model of Ridley just for Melee's intro and trophy, and never used it again. They easily could have made a model of Ridley specifically for the Wii U pyrosphere stage hazard. You never know with Sakurai, he's a wildcard!

I think Ridley is a shoe in at this point, no question and I've already stated my reasons why I think in previous posts and many of you guys are spot on why.

I just want Gematsu 2.0 to vanish into thin air completely so everyone can calm down and just be at peace in the threads like before. I'm thankful you guys know the bogus of it and that it doesn't affect ridleys chances at all and staying calm about it. (I sense a troll of epic proportions coming from Gematsu 2.0)

I would only start worrying about Ridley's chances if we get no reveal of him before the Japanese release, otherwise it would imply he is indeed a stage boss (unique to Wii U), and they didn't want to give too much on the Wii U exclusives with the 3DS being the main focus for now.

This is why i want the Roster leak to be real because it would guarantee the 4chan leak to be real. Unless he was just extremely lucky and got 2 characters with impossibly low chances and 1 with decent chances, good thing is the leak is looking real.

To be fair, the Duck hunt dog shows up on a lot of fake rosters as a joke. Hmm, since Sakurai is apparently looking at fan desires a lot more, do you think he saw that it kept showing up on fan rosters and thus, added it in not knowing we were joking?

Also, update on Ridley plushie. No picture yet due to some, technical issues, but I am finally able to make some progress on it. :D
I should hopefully, be able it finish the test version of it soon, and maybe upload pictures of that before I begin the real plushie.

I can honestly saw with the "leaks" recently it doesn't put a damper on Ridley's Chances, I am just hoping at least some of it is true [Bowser Jr., DHD, and Dark Pit(Kinda)] If its real, Ridley wasn't unlocked by leaker, if its fake, Ridley's in just some of the leaked characters Aren't. Sure, sure. I was just responding to the idea that he was teasing him "so much." It's not been that much. But yeah, even I acknowledge that not talking about it is just weird.

Oh no, it wasn't the pony emotes. It was more the gigantic pony pictures that had happened several times in the past few pages. It doesn't make me uncomfortable, but I sorta empathize with those it does based on a few things.
Lately, it's been a trend where people get annoyed with brony-related things, become extremely offensive, and do all manner of things including yelling, trolling, what have you. This causes bronies to feel targeted and they often get defensive. I'm not advocating for either of those things. They derail the thread, make bronies (who have every right to like whatever fandom they wish) feel oppressed, and overall it's just a bad situation for everyone involved.

I was hoping by speaking up early that I'd get there before the people who are merciless against MLP ended up starting something, and there was a whole big unrelated debate about whether being a brony is "right or wrong", which happens soooooo much I'm just sick of seeing it. Anyone who's been on a forum in the past few years knows what I'm talking about. Check basically any youtube video and that debate is probably happening right now, haha.

So again, I hope you realize I'm not trying to be offensive. Or to state an opinion for or against bronies. Just don't want in-fighting on my favourite thread. This thread is so fricken awesome, haha. Seriously, I love you guys.

Yup. Ridley's scenario is strange, but anything can still happen, whether to us it's "logical" or "illogical". Ridley could have been held off for a nonsensical, arbitrary reason.

But what I want now is a veteran we haven't seen before, like Wario. This way, his official render will rid the 'leak' of all validity it had, and Duck Hunt Dog is just a trophy. Dark Pit and Dr. Mario were chosen explicitly because that exploits the quote Sakurai said regarding two characters being slightly different earning their own slot. And Shulk? That's really Little Mac.

We need something soon. Either a newcomer such as Ridley or a veteran like Wario. Just one of those will disprove the 'leak' once and for all.
