Confession time: I got the idea of Splounge water from a MLP social group on Reddit called the MLPLounge, or Plounge for short. The Plounge had this running gag of a tampered water source that was horrendously toxic or at the very least unclean. Other running gags of the Plounge included an overobsession with orgies, bees, and butts.

When the thread took on a "Lounge" theme, I decided to try incorporating a very indirect reference to miniature equines because I could.

At 2:32 he does, and in Metroid Zero Mission, part of defeating him is getting grabbed and shooting him like a mad-man. I'd like to reinstate that it's not too big a deal of Samus grabbing him for me, I just am trying to put a general idea of the feel of him, and wondering how others might feel about some iconic things having to be brought down a tone. From what I'm getting is that it's not too big an issue with others as well, which is good in and of itself!

Anyway this one particular aspect I brought up is being drug out too far, moar discussion!

While grabbing is common for Ridley, Samus can normally do something about it. Other M was the exception to that. Samus throwing Ridley is only weird because of his size, but that's no different than Samus throwing Bowser. Or Olimar throwing Bowser.

So yes, it's strange to see, but Ridley wouldn't be the only one in that situation, and it's not as bad as what happened to Mewtwo and Ganondorf.

Oh, that's a good point. They weren't totally specific that Chrom wasn't playable in the trailer (I mean, it seemed fairly obvious to me, but they never did actually say, and it did mention that Chrom would get his chance today). And look what happens immediately afterwards? An official message saying that Chrom will not be playable.

If they really felt the need to address something like that, I can't imagine them just letting this whole Ridley thing spiral out of control like it has. I'm starting to feel pretty confident about Ridley.

Also, we have more proof that Sakurai is a complete and utter troll. That's always good.

Yeeeeeees. The only time they'd do that is if they wanted it to spiral out of control. The only alternative at first, judging by the Direct, is for people to assume boss, so either way it makes as perfect hype for surprise Ridley trailer. It could have dragged out for so long in order for people to start to believe he was intended to truly be a boss in that segment.

I don't relate this to Dark Pit because he was outright shown and would've been confirmed there and then if he was playable.

i don't think gematsu leak ever affected Ridley, it was crystal clear from start that it didn't had all the characters, and Ridley always could be unlockable. if something it affects that maybe we will have a Ridley reveal video.

(Ironicallly the most affected by the leak was Robin, with Chrom and all)

On the other hand, the deconfirmation have made clear that if nintendo wants to be clear about something they will, and that the roster can still be unpredictable (outside here Ridley is probably considered the most likely to not get in, therefore the most unpredictable :D)

No but to TL;DR, if I look into the logic of why the shadow is there, it gets into a thing when basically, only a playable theory would make a certain sense as a tease while teasing hazard doesn't.

Realistically? If I put aside my skepticism and that I worry too much, I would look at all the evidence we have and say a solid 80-90%. With everything we've accumulated, along with the way he's being handled, I can't think of any reason why he could not be playable right now outside of hyping him up ridiculously wrong. Not even Stage Hazardley.

I do completely understand why people believe he's a stage hazard, though.

The biggest thing giving me hope right now is that Trophy Theory, in addition to all the evidence of shadows, music, sizes. Realistically though I'd say he's more likely to be a character than not. Now the Gematsu Leak can't be called "Gospel" (although I never believed it completely) anymore and Sakurai's trolling seems to be in full swing with the Chrom disconfirmation.

Not to mention that the Smash Direct Trophy Theory is looking really good now (with the music playing during each trophy to help even more).

Sakurai said they were reaching the end of their stash of newcomer videos when he announced the Robin Reveal Trailer, meaning there is at least one more.

Here's hoping that last one has our Favorite Purple Space Dragon, so the trolling and ambiguity can finally end.

Sakurai's delivered on anniversaries so far. Little Mac on the Punch Out! anniversary, Robin and Lucina on the anniversary of a couple Fire Emblem games, and Captain Falcon on the F-Zero X anniversary. Since Ridley is widespread controversy with people claiming all things, no-one is sure, so it could technically still be considered a troll move to announce playable Ridley on the August anniversary of Metroid.

And God, do I hope I'm right.
