I had no reason to buy Blu-Ray. The PS3 upconverts to 1080p anyway. Then, I saw a Blu-Ray movie versus an upconverted movie. And that's that...

Okay, so they have their 16 year-old son. You could find 2 other 16 year-olds and one of them could say that the Wii is better, and the other say the 360 is better. Saying that ONE 16 year-old liking the PS3 means that it's the best console is...ignorant.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but that doesn't really work as an argument. Just had to point that out.

That said, I'm currently undecided between getting a PS3 or a 360. There are reasons for me to get both, and since the PS3 isn't as expensive as it used to be, it has become an option. I'm still trying to make up my mind, though.

Most of my favorite games are coming out on the Xbox

The PS3 may own the shooter genre in graphics compared to the 360, but currently, based on my opinion, the PS3 phails in having the right controller for shooters. SixAxis will never have the shooting potential the X360 controllers have.

Unless... something happens...

I can't help but cringe when people say that they are going out to buy a 360. Its a shame that McRosoft has us in such a tightly knit web of advertising. Look at the press Halo 2 and 3 got. What flops those turned out to be. What frustrated me is the new generation of gaming and the seemingly endless amounts of crap being squeezed out into the gaping mouths of Xbox Live whores. For example, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Lost Odyssey, an RPG for the 360 by the makers of Final Fantasy. What I got was an incredibly bland story and the some of the worst plot loopholes I have ever seen, Not to mention stock characters and just awful voice acting. Another example, is the Akira Toriyama RPG, Blue Dragon. Ugh... Its not coincidence that the advertising for the game immediately stopped after its launch. 4 discs a great game does not make. If i wanted to fight poop, I'd put on boxing gloves and change a baby. My point is that the 360 does provide a vast library of games, but a vast library of Space Marine ripoffs shooting aliens and curb stomping bodybuilders with a blood fetish.

Also, imagine the last 10 years of your life without a PS2... That's exactly how the PS3 is going to be, a necessity.

Yes, however, most of the games I'd like are for PS3. Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank, etc. On the other hand, Xbox offers better online (albeit you have to pay) and none of my friends own a PS3, while half of them own a 360. So I'm conflicted at the moment.

Thanks for the link. I don't know, I need to talk with my friends about 360 games. I haven't heard of many good titles for the console (at least those that I'd like) but I haven't actually looked that much. I could research it, and probably will, but I should probably ask my friends as well to get their input.

Um...not really. The PS2 was never a necessity. Yes, I got one, but I have relatively few games for it and don't play it all that often. Now, is it a good console? Yes. Is it a necessity? No. My Sega Genesis and SNES are a necessity.

It's not just Xbox Live, the whole gaming community is horrible. I went to GameCrazy and looked for DS games, and all the games was kiddy. Pet Catz? Pet Dolphinz? WTF. Those were actually the names of some of the games. There's tons of DS games where you ride ponys and lame stuff like that. Same with the Wii, all the garbage companies are putting their garbage $20 games on nintendo because of the gimmicy wiimote/stylus feature that "families just love".

There are plenty good games for Xbox. it has been out longer than any of the other next gens, and so it has accumulated more games, and nobody likes them all. Also, Ps2 had an even bigger game library, with even more crap.

First of all Virtual Boy was a home Console. Only Flop Nintendo had and sadly possible one of the causes that led to Gunpei death
