For those of you who have wanted something more to do after collecting all the badges and defeating the Elite Four, in addition to trying to catch all the Pokemon, a National League is being developed.

It is a forum/website where you can find battles with other trainers, and earn points that you can use to enter tournaments, trade for rare items or eggs, join teams, and become a Gym leader or part of the Elite Four. It's split into four sections, each named after a region in the Pokemon games and soon there will be 8 gyms established in each, which you challenge for the right to enter in a National tournament, the winners of which becoming the first Elite Four and Champion. There are also special tournaments with different themes to take part in.

More or less, once it starts going, it's going to be like a big global ranking thing where the best players have gyms with different themes, you challenge them, get their badge and try to make your way to the Elite Four. Gym leaders and the Elite Four members are changed regularly by tournament to ensure that there are always active participants and that those in place are the most challenging to defeat.

The only problem now is that it is just beginning, but if more people join then this will become a very fun, easy, and competitive environment to test your skill against other trainers.

Yeah, there's a bunch more to it but I'm kind of not sure how to sum up everything, so read this for what it's about and if you want all the info on it, this thread has all the info on it.

You should also join the forums so you can help get everything started.

Here is my team if you want to check out what the teams will be about and want in on joining the first established team.

It's underway right now. As more people join, more things will start. Right now the special mini tournaments, like a 3v1 legendary battle, where you have all lvl 80 or below pokemon facing one level 100 legendary for prizes and points, should be starting within the next couple weeks.

He just got the forums up a couple days ago and is updating daily, so things should be taking off very soon.

Oh no, advertising, almost like every SWFer does at any other SSBM site or forum. If there's a community with a real potential to be better a better competitive and social center than Gfaqs, Serebii, SWF, and maybe on par with Smogon, but more fun in the process, with there something to do at all times battle or strategy wise, why wouldn't you want to spread the word of it?

The point was that a mod isn't going to sticky a topic advertising another site. They might allow it to stay in the forum, but they wouldn't sticky it.

And since when did you become the ultimate authoritarian on what is fun and what isn't? What's fun to one person might not be fun to another. Arbitrarily saying that your system is more fun than just organizing battles with people or entering tournies is a little self-centered, don't you think? Also, the fact you have to build up "points" in order to enter tournies is a bit of a turnoff.

Btw, I forgot to mention, your links are a little messed up in the first post.

Well, it's not my system, but yeah, good points.

If nothing else, it's a good way to meet people who are competitive minded and see where you rank.

The points don't take long to earn and since you're battling in the process, you're making sure that you have a good team and don't face things way over your head.

It's just too bad smogon has a horrible community, horribly slow site, and shuns just about every new person with interest in playing. Could there be a reason competitive pokemon is such a small scene?

A "horrible community." Now that's pure opinion. Don't go stating stuff as fact unless it actually is.

Smogon has only been slow as of late. Before D/P, it was a very fast site. That's to be expected with any forum getting a lot of traffic, though.

The last of your points is an interesting one. You say that they shun anyone that is interested in playing, but when these people act like noobs and aren't even willing to accept help, I would hardly consider them people who are "interested." Those who genuinely want help and actually act somewhat intelligent (I don't necessarily mean intelligent as in pokemon intelligent, but just internet intelligent... not much to ask for imo) more often than not are accepted, and those people get better. I've watched it happen. I've also watched annoying people get banned.

And for your last comment... it's so small because there are so few people who are actually good. There are so few people who actually want to put the time in to become good. The size of the pokemon community compared to those who play competitively and the size of the ssbm community to those who play competitively I think you'd find the ratios to be similar.

Aftermath is one of the best samus's in the world. Anyways I find it very rude how you critize someone elses ideas. If your not in support than don't post. But we could have the best players from Pokemon National League, smogon, nintendo,.... Battle and represent there websites that they are apart of. Or if apart of several represent the one you like best. But the badges thing is a very good idea. And i'm a part of team rocket =D

._.

Why would I care that he's one of the best samus in the world in the POKEMON forum? If this was a topic about smash that would be a different story.

And do I not have the right to criticize someone else's ideas? If we think differently should I not answer them with my own thoughts? Or is the internet a communist nation and no one can speak their ideas?

I joined and everyone on there is incredibly nice. I joined the Legend Seekers but I'm thinking about getting stolen by Team Rocket and immigrating to Kanto. ^_^
