So you gonna get one of these deals? I don't even have a PS3 yet, but I'm wondering if this means video games really are turning into more physical gaming vs sittin' on yer rump and exercising your thumbs. Alas me and my lazy ways.

Also I'm just curious to hear from the gaming community on this move by Sony. Is this a way to jump on the bandwagon? Was it inevitable? What's Xbox360 gonna do now, make one too??

I still prefer traditional gaming, but maybe this is a sign that technology really is escaping the standard setup, and so we old schoolers must follow. I can imagine it now. I'm there trying to play video games and my kid is dancing circles around me... literally. It's bound to happen I guess. It's only right. I used to destroy my pops in Boxing. Remember that one? Boxing, by Activision. :D

I understand the move towards physical gaming and believe that it will at least vigorously compete with traditional sit-down-and-button-mash games, but they could have done something more original. Maybe something that you put on your hands would've been possible ?_?

Well that's not a complete ripoff of Nintendo in any way shape or form.

Sony was never one for originality anyway.

Sony NEVER had originality.

I honestly don't mind the transition, but like ICG said the options are very nice.

The Wii controller still feels traditional to me. I don't think I'll be the least bit annoyed until we move onto something like Sony did with the eye toy as control for all games.

From what I saw at E3, it's like the Wiimote, only it works right. But I'm not going to say anything more until I've actually had a go with it. I really hope that this whole "motion" thing doesn't compleately overtake console gaming. If it does, I'll consider moving to PCs...

Also, Microsoft already has their "response" to the motion contoller thing, it's called Project Natal.

Yeah but I heard that the PS3 one isn't 1:1 like Wiimote @ MotionPlus.

At least Natal had a sense of original direction to it, I was actually impressed with Microsoft when they unveiled that. Motion gaming was a legitimate threat and they put some real effort into besting it.

lol but WTF with that giant colored .. ball on the end. >< I keep expecting it to pop, like its a balloon or something... one thing I like it appears to be standard for the "chuck" heh to be wireless. I have snagged my chuck during a brawl and lemme just say, it sucks.

that's right! Project Natal... well that makes Sony the band wagoners fo sho.

and what fin said. though I abandoned PC gaming ages ago, it'd be tough to get back into... sigh. i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Unless this ends up like Motion Plus, with like support for 10 games, then I may get one. It's just that I'm not gonna spend however much on something I'll be able to use for a handful of games, and I'm not really interested in the fact that you may be able to use it on older games like LittleBigPlanet.

However, yesterdays best news was Monkey Island 2 Special Edition for PS3.

You know, I'm enjoying my PS3 and all, enjoying my VP of every thing ads, but I think the division in charge of the Move is being so un original. From the design to the ads, It's obviously a Wii copy. But here's the thing, unlike the Wii, the PS3 wasn't designed for this so the Move is possibly going to fail. And I think it's becuase of it's potentially high price tag.

E3 is going to be fun.

MS/Sony with the ''casual'' games and Nintendo with the ''hardcore''.
I don't know if I'll be crying or laughing.

Anyway, on Natal, I heard that once it comes out it will actually be bundled with the 360. I don't know, perhaps I'll give it a shot. As Teran said, at least Microsoft is trying to be original.

The Natal reminds me of the eye toy or those really crappy motion games that were bundled with my 2000 era web cam.

New Zelda is coming out......hardcore enough for me.

The funny thing is I really dont even like Nintendo's motion control stuff except for like golf games and tennis games.

I only really buy Wii games that give me the option to use traditional controls.

Nintendo: "Hey guys, Wii has motion sensors and it will make games more interactive and fun!"

Sony and Microsoft: "LOL! NO ONE WANTS WAGGLE! YOU GUYS ARE SO ****ING STUPID!"

2009/2010
Microsoft: "Hey guys! This is Project Natal! It has motion sensors and it will make games more interactive and fun!"

Sony: "Hey guys! This is the Playstation Move! It has motion sensors and it will make games more interactive and fun!"

Nintendo:

Uh yeah, IGN did a preview of this and they had complaints about the Sony's Move. They complained about the inaccurate motion controls. That certanty dropped my already low interest for the Sony's Move.

At least Microsoft is trying to be original, but they probably won't fare well since I heard from developers that they were extremely buggy to work with and they are having diffculties working on it.

If I want my motion fix, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to stay with Nintendo. I just got a computer that you can actually upgrade (No more Dell FTW, even thought this is the same thing but with better motherboards and is like a normal computer) and I might be using that for gaming in the near future.

^I can't wait to see fan reactions from both sides post-E3. So good.

It was obvious this would happen. It was just a matter of when :bee:
In terms of reactions, you'll probably be disappointed. They'll probably praise Microsoft and Sony as if they were gods and get fed up with Nintendo again, even if Nintendo does pull off an fantastic E3 2010.

Please note I am not refering to this community in any sense or form, but people on sites like IGN.

I can't wait until they find a way to plant a chip in your head that transports your consciousness into a virtual reality world.

Next-next-gen.

When will people learn that you don't have to come up with some gimmicky control scheme to sell consoles?
