Smash Lord
I think it's kinda lame that they removed the breast slider, but to be honest, I question why they even added it in the first place.
But screw all that talk, I'm stupidly hyped about this game and have been since the moment it was announced. The original Xenoblade was ****ing fantastic and easily became one of my favorite RPGs of all time, if not the favorite. It just managed to go beyond any expectation in every area, the story is super compelling and ambitious due to having some amazing characterization, and one of the most interesting and imaginative settings I've ever seen before not just in gaming. Even though it ran on an extremely outdated console in terms of power, it managed to make up for it with a brilliant art direction, and though they had to take a ton of shortcuts, it still managed to be ****ing gorgeous. And heck, the combat system? I was genuinely expecting it to play like a ****ty single-player version of some WoW clone. Though the basics are similar, I couldn't have been more wrong. And I don't even need to say anything about its soundtrack.
So yeah, with such ridiculously high standards, it's hard to see why anyone that liked the first Xenoblade wouldn't be looking forward to this. While there's a few things I feel like it doesn't do as well as the first game, it still promises to be an amazing game on its own, and also has mroe than enough differences from the original game to be its own thing.
So yah, this is a definite day 1 buy to me.
December 4 just can't come fast enough.
A lot of people seem to be talking as if breast size is the only thing that differentiates a woman's body from another's. I don't understand why breast got such special attention in the original release in the first place. Removing it was stupid once they actually managed to get the feature in, but... Seriously, why is the one and only option when it comes to actual body customization (besides height, which is really just scaling the model) freaking breasts of all things?
What if I want to play as a muscular, athletic-looking woman?
Or a super skinny man?
Why can't my character be overweight?
Because the game simply doesn't go in-depth about body options. So why add a breast-slider, then? It just feels out of place and inconsistent with the rest of the options you can choose.
People keep bringing up games like Fallout, or Saints Row as examples of games that have a breast-size option. If those games can do it, why can't Xenoblade?
Well, just look at the amount of options in those games! Outside of the character's face, Xenoblade doesn't go in-depth at all. In those other games, you can be a muscular, athletic-looking woman. You can be a super skinny man. You can be overweight. A breast size option feels natural, because it's just one option among dozens. In Xenoblade? It's the option. If you are insecure and can't deal with recreating yourself exactly as you want... Well, I'm sorry, because you couldn't do that even with a breast slider. Breast size is not the only variable feature in anyone's body, and I don't understand why they're being given such importance.
So yes, its removal is ridiculous and definitely a censorship issue that shouldn't be a thing. But stop acting as if it was such a vital feature that absolutely shouldn't be missing from a character creation menu, because at the level of customization the game offers, it really isn't.
