My Break Lasts from Dec. 20th to Jan. 13. The best time, I think, for me to do this is the weekend after christmas. Then again, when is that Huntington tourny? Anyway, I'll just do it one weekend then either before or after that other tourny.

Yeah, if people can make it the tourney in Huntington is still happening...unless you think it would be easier to have one in Charleston.

I would much rather have two tournaments, or, if that is too much for some people, I could just make mine a smash fest and leave the tournament to someone else. I don't want to ride into town and set up fights with everyone. It's not my character. If you are doing the Saturday after Christmas, then I will see if I can set mine up the week after.

Is that cool?

O_O

What is the point in going? Skip! That's right, I'm advocating attendance negligence in curricular establishments with the substitution of interactive media usage amongst peers as the primary reason.

How many times have you gone to school? How many times have you played smash? I think that value A grossly outweighs value B, and, therefore, can only be justified by an abundance of SSBM play at times where you are not adding towards value A.

Pide Piper = Me... I'm not a bad influence... I swear...

Sorry for the double post, but does anyone have directions, price, and notes on the Huntington tourny?

Since coreygames is wanting to have a tourney, we can just have a Smashfest in Huntington, or a tourney with no money involved (except money matches). If having a tourney will get more people here, we can do that. I'm not sure how many people that I know are coming, but it won't be more than 5. How about everyone else, who is all coming? If you guys are carpooling or something, the driver should pm me for instructions, and my phone number. Also, we have three TVs, but only one Wii/game. If you think we need more TVs, we should only need one more. That would mean wee need three more system/games. Tell me what you think.

Sounds like a solid plan. Three or four of us should be able to go from Charleston, and we might be able to bring one TV. We'll definitely bring cubes though.

Uh, well I thought I had a ride. My friend from Florida was coming in, but it seems that he sold his car down there... for a moped. So, if someone can graciously give me a lift to Huntington, it would be much appreciated. I would go as far to chip in for gas if it is needed. I just want to catch the WV scene while I'm here.

Edit:
Also, I only have 2 Tvs, 1 Wii, and 1 game. If we are having a tourny, I'm goign to need a few people to help with that.

I'm sure we'll be able to give you a ride. Let me talk it over with everyone here and get everything organized. I'll get back to you guys then.

Ok we're definitely going. Number will range from 3 to 6. And we'll take you there Corey.

Now, a few things:

Setups, who's bringing what?
Directions to the place
Tournament or smashfest

Let's figure some stuff out.

personally, I don't want to handle money(and I'm poor, being a college student and all). We can do a smashfest with mm if that is ok with everybody. Bring money just in case the majority want to have a tourney though. I have 3 tvs, and a console/game. so we need 2 consoles/games, and of course BYOC. What is a good time for everybody? Sometime around noon would be fine with me.

Has anyone heard from the guys in Madison?

Ok we'll bring money and decide there. I guess I'll bring my laptop just in case we do a tournament (I think 2v2 would be nice and easy to do).

Two consoles/games should be easy, we have that covered. If coreygames can bring two more TVs (which would require a large car), two more setups should still be fine.

Earlier is better, since transportation is an issue. We don't want to head back too late.

I'll talk to the kids in Madison ASAP.

If everyone want to have it earlier than noon let me know. I think we have room for maybe one more TV, but that about it. I have a surge protector, but an extra wouldn't hurt.

I just found out today that I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled out Friday. I don't know if that means I can't go, but **** if I can't. I really want to. So... does anyone one know how long you are suppose to rest after something like that? I can't imagine having a few teeth pulled being THAT big of a deal. You know? 'Cuz I don't.

If I do go and lose... dental johns will be made >_>

Well life will suck for you on Friday. Some people can't do anything the next day, but it depends. I think I was able to move about the next day after I had mine pulled. I might have still been on painkillers though...and I'm sure those will affect your game.

Nah, maybe the pain will help me play better? Psychologically induced hyper aggravated reflex stimulation or something like that. (I just made that up... BIG WORDS)

I think I'll be fine. And if not, like I said, dental johns. Have those ever been made?

Edit: Screw it. I just found out that my older sister has decided to make a surprise visit this weekend since I am in town. My family has politely asked that I dropped everything to see her.

I'm starting to hate this telling me everything at the last second bull. Don't worry though, I made it painstakingly clear that my tournament WILL happen. I'm just mad I won't get to go to this gathering in huntington. Post some vids maybe, and thanks for offering a ride.

Ok Madison's out, unfortunately. So let's get a head count.

From Charleston:
Me, KrazyKnux, Byped, PH.D., YimmyZ (?), Mexican, Ira (?), coreygames

Out of those 8, I'm feeling 6 will go.

How many you got in Huntington, Oddity?

And I think noon is fine.

Sat. at Noon:
$5 tournament, anyone is invited. If you want to help, bring a TV, Game, or GC/Wii.

4404 Jones st.
South Charleston (304) 768 - 27733

I have no spare controllers, bring your own!

Normal rules for double elimination:
4 stock, 8 min, tournament stages. Each player may strike a level from the random, then for the next matches in that set, all counter pick stages are open. The same stage can't be played twice per set. Counter pick characters goes 1) Loser chooses character 2) Winner chooses character 3) Loser counter picks character. Then level select. Best 2 out of 3. When you lose, go to the loser's bracket. If you lose there, you are out.

Winnings are by % of pot:
1st - %60, 2nd - %25, 3rd - %15

If we have enough TVs, then there can be friendlies between matches.

"1) Loser chooses *stage*"

I think we'll be able to make it. What about you Huntington guys? And as of last week, the Madison guys said that they were in. I'll talk to them again to make sure.

I also just remembered that I have my laptop here. So we can do some recording if you have the equipment to do it, and if you want to. I have an S video spot, USB of course, and a 15 hole blue thing for w/e on it too. IDK what you need, but that's what I've got.
