I don't agree with Obama's politics, nor do I agree with voting for a candidate primarily because he promises "change" and "hope" -- I may have, had he really enumerated those. Coincidentally, I'm of the opinion that "the only way for race to stop mattering is to stop letting it matter" -- though it's a historic event to have elected a candidate with African-American heritage, race isn't something that should have mattered in the presidential election.

If you can't tell, I cast a ballot for McCain yesterday (knowing full-well that, especially in California, it really wasn't changing much of anything). However, I appreciate the symbolism that this has -- the fact that he was able to achieve this position, leader of the free world, despite precedents that were set... well, it's unprecedented. I congratulate his supporters, and I'm eager to see if he really can bring about a change that's positive for the American people. So, I guess I'm just hopeful. I recognize the irony.

Now, bring on teh funneh. I've yet to see a picture of Obama's face superimposed over MK, or Snake, on a victory screen, with McCain's face on a TL crying in the background. Come on, internet!

On a more serious note, you guys heard that the world is praising the US right now because Obama won the presidency? Kenya decided to make yesterday, 11/04 a national holiday because of Obama's victory, Cuba and Venezuela have decided to negotiate more with the US, France's prime minister personally called Obama and said he's looking forward to working with him, and even Russia's president called him and gave him a "congrats."
That's pretty awesome.
