There was talk of that once and some people *****ed about that since the MI thread is so old and long standing. But at this point I think that it should be. I know some recent new person saw that post and thought there was smash at some place that people no longer live in because of the OP.

I really like OS's idea that he presented in the OH Pr thread. I think it's a good balance between point based systems (TX PR) and opinion based systems(Our PR).

Is there anyone besides me that thinks its an idea worth trying out?

The top 3 would be B

everyone else c

Or everyone one the pr would be C.

the closest lain ever got to "star" was the apes he got 3rd at.

After that he just sat in A for a while... then eventually drifted down to where he is now

I like this a lot. It solves the issue that always comes up about how many players to include in the PR. Since this has pretty much clear cutoffs, its either a player is in a particular group or he isn't. It also solves problem of skill gap between successive players in the PR by separating them. This should be considered.

2nd biggest scene doesn't mean anything if we can't beat other regions

We need to get more Smash Locations for people to practice AA can't be the only place where people meet
This. I think this is the main reason why AA players are improving a lot, because a lot of smash happens there. I think it's a good idea to have SFs on a regular basis at other locations too so that we can have more players improving as fast as the AA players.

i think OS idea is good, it requires less debate since it has clear cutoffs, but so did the pr thing i tried to do. we all see where that went

That would be the case in every scene, Gio.

Most entrants are pot fillers.

Only Lain, SK, Mikey, Rage, and Zinoto place really high/win consisently.Roller did well in recent events but has never placed like top 3 in a larger event. Kenny shows up every blue moon to place like 5th.

And then throw in the rest of the PR + Rizk and some others and that's C.

Then the rest of the 80% of the scene is D lol. Its not meant to be an opinion based thing like the current PR. Its just a simple cut and dry way of categorizing skill groups.

It is very opinion based. It's tries to sound like it's on a (national) scale but with no actual scale. All it includes is national > regional > local and your placing (Not wins/loses) at that tournament. There's a lot of differences between tournaments in those categories and the overall skill of different regions. It's very subjective because when there's any difference in skill between tournaments you have to do normal PR methods. I assumed OS made it up as a very roundabout way to say "Yo MW is bad why you guys trying to make a PR?"

i mean you dont have to use the national > regional > local scale

if its a local PR then we should know who within us are in which specific group

this is discussed everytime a new PR is being made, with the whole argument of "top 5 only cause after 5 theres a huge drop in skill" etc...

HA actually made a good idea. we could use OS idea but change it so it fits a local setting, instead of wat OS suggested, which is lookin like a national scale PR. the MI PR should try it out just to get a good placing of most of the scene.

Oh no. He is almost always quite serious. That being said, none of his posts should be taken seriously.

I do agree with what Kevin said. However I am one of the people I just described in the OH PR thread. And I like being #2 instead of b/c.
