The Official SSNM Tournament!

General rules:

• 5 Stock
  
  1 On 1, Fool get it straight.
  
  8 minute timer
  
  Items are set to "off" and "none"
  
  If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.
  
  Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
  
  If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a LOSE for Bowser.
  
  Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
  
  After a set (best 2 out of 3 until the semi-finals which will be 3 out of 5 along with the Finals), either player should report the results here.
  
  Stalling is banned. exept for stages that have an S next to it.
  
  Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.
  
  
  You can only use chaingrabs 5-4 times in a row, anymore and you are DQ'd depending how many times the match was restarted for the rule being violated.

  That also includes those now half baked infinites and chain combos IC's, i'm watching you.
  
  Don't be hating on the stages, find a way around them and they're skills. just cause they're to good for you doesn't mean you gotta hate cause its pro... (LOL)

Also SSNM is a secret forum thats been hacked many times in the past(cause of sprites not being credited for, losers...), it stands for Super Smash Nsider Melee and its to be a fangame soon...eventually, it was also created when Nintendo's Nsider was out and running.

I'm contemplating joining, although I don't know if I'll be able to get in, as I don't really get the whole 'counter stage' deal as well as my general inability to play well, & maining Ness doesn't help that situation much either >_>

So how's the stage selection process work? I'm guessing it's a starter, followed by the loser of match 1 picking a counterstage, followed by (if necessary), what? I'm very new to competitive smash, so excuse my newbie-esque ways haha.

Go for it, the tournament is fair for all characters becuase you can now use some of the stages that would have made the characters great if they were useable in all tourneys.

It'll run once its full, it ends when I want it to... or atleast till theres a winner.

And this is how it goes.

First Stage is random pretty much becuase it will be anyway cause its online, thus pick starter stage you want.

P1 Wins

P2 picks counterpick stage which you also choose as well.

If P1 loses he gets to choose his counterpick stage which the opponet picks as well.

Simple.

Also Counterpick/Banned stages must be agreed upon by both members, becuase they're cheap like that.
