LOL! I do that to keep my opponent from reading me. If I just stand there, I usually get read or if I start dashing around I always get grabbed. Teabagging too good. :p
Lol, the illusion you conjure by perpetually altering between a standing position and a crouching position surely does purge those reads (??? XD)
Anyway, I thought that it was just a derogatory gesture or something. Just be mindful of the fact that some people, like I just did, will interpret it as such ;p

Haha, that's how I feel when I do well with Link. :p
Oh yeah naturally! For the 2/3 matches you went :link2: you performed really well with him. I think that he got rid of my :falco: during the game succeeding the 2v1 game (ABOUT WHICH I'M STILL AGGRAVATED TO THE BONE) with that impeccably timed u-tilt. Nice bomb mix-ups and great spacing in general as well! It seemed however that you resorted to the notorious d-smash in conjunction with multiple spotdodges-habit while playing with him specifically.. But yeah you're still the best :link2: I've ever brawled so.. that's good I guess ;p.

You are naturally eligible to attach your own value to that assessment though xD

It's just your Meta knight operates like Meta knight should. Breaking egos, handing out salt and

providing rage quits lol. He is good if that's what you wanted to hear xD.
At long last! Recognition for my :metaknight: ;3

Well actually, it's not necessarily what I wanted to hear (nonetheless it's news that I welcome cordially ;p). I was just puzzled by the fact that you commended my :diddy: this time rather than my :metaknight:. But yeah well.. I could comprehensibly sympathise with your aversion against the character when you're destined to be d-air gimped with characters like :link2: and :ike:.. Salt will inevitably ensue ;'(

I profoundly despise :metaknight: as well, for the record XD

I'll have to remember to keep dictionary.com in an another tab when replying to you lol. What did your parents put in your peanut brittle to make you so.. how you say.. ingeniously impertinent? >_>

But teabagging works ;c...

Thanks for the Link compliments lol; I'll always struggle with him and Ike against good edge guards.. :/

Too many long words, can't think, going to bed. ;p

GGs, Ometa.

@Ben: I saw your request. I'd love to help you out next time you get a chance to play, unfortunately I don't have a skype, but I can like take notes between matches and P:M them to you or something like that. In the meantime you should study up, go check out the Marth discussion boards and watch some matches on youtube of some top Marth players like Mr. R and Mike Haze.

GGs James! Goodness, we were at it for quite some time, eh? :seuss:

You've taken a colossal step in improvement since the last time we encountered, namely with :bowser: Though it infuriates me as to exactly why he kills around the 60%-ish mark... :glare: (Which is absolutely ridiculous!)

Brawl/P:M anyone else? :bluejump:

@James GnW is actually the second lightest character :coolmonke: (Right behind Jiggz)

Thanks yeah, I've been practicing a lot, I got to play with Strong Bad because I found out he lives near me and he schooled me which inspired me to get better. I've finally settled on Bowser as a main too, last time we played I was conflicted between like five different characters. Personally, if you want my opinion about Bowser, I think he needs that power, he's so susceptible to camping and combos that having the ability to kill so early is one of the most important things keeping him viable, he's already been nerfed quite a bit from previous versions too, also it doesn't help that you play G&W, he's the lightest character in the game.

Hey, glad someone is interested. I already read/watched a bunch... Now I need help applying that knowledge.
I'll be on all day tomorrow, except at 4:00 pm PST. That's my official tournament time.
P.S. *Sarcasm* What exactly makes you think I play Marth?

Actually I think they're the same weight, Jiggs is just easier to kill off the top because she's floatier because falling speed dictates vertical knockback, that's why spacies are so hard to kill off the top even though they aren't particularly heavy (excluding Wolf). Of course it depends on whether or P:M uses Melee's character weights, or Brawl's because in Brawl G&W is heavier than Jiggs, of course I know they changed some of the weights of the characters altogether, like Bowser is quite a bit heavier in P:M than in any other Smash game.

@Ben: I'll try to be on sometime tomorrow if I can, I have a pretty busy day.

GGs man! Well excuse me for that then; I wasn't aware of your extensive absence and sudden return really ;p
Otherwise I would've picked another character which isn't as sacky as :falco:!

But thanks for the compliment, notwithstanding ;3
I would like to mutually compliment you for your :sheik: btw! Got struck by nice sequences of f-tilts with awesome corresponding follow-ups (gotta love f-tilts into u-tilt <3).

Gee idk.....

ill be on =P
Dawww, my dinner is ready, so I really had to go man.. Needless to say; I wish I could've stayed longer because those matches were interesting ;D

Good games in general, and I'm positively surprised by your :yoshi2:! Dem strings with the tilts, and the pivotgrabs.. reeeally neat o_o

As for my :falco:; I think it went quite okay actually.. Had several BDACUS kills, and the chain grabbing was nigh on flawless. I'm very satisfied with the results ;o
What'd you reckon? Any specific points of potential improvement that you'd like to highlight?

Thanks for the compliment lol. I feel like my Yoshi recently improved a ton out of nowhere.
I was getting real frustrated with the chaingrab, especially when I was playing Sheik... I kept trying to pick Battlefield and EVERY SINGLE TIME they kept giving you Final Destination lol. I'm not well-versed on Falco so as for advice, I dont really know, you play Falco pretty much exactly how he should be played.

EDIT: I do have some advice, not for Falco but for your MK: Every time you dropped below the stage, I knew that double shuttle loop you like to do was coming next. I was countering it with eggs, and then later with egg lay. If there was absolutely 100% no lag I think I mightve been able to spike you out of it if I tried hard enough. There were some other shuttle loops you did that I was able to predict and either egg lay you out of it with Yoshi or Diddy hump you out of it (which i did like, only once, but still, that was on purpose, i swear)

Yeah I deliberately selected FD for a stage because :falco: thrives well there, frankly xD. Quite unfortunate for you however that it incurred many chain grabs indeed..
But yeah, thanks for the compliment; it's really flattering to hear that I can emulate the utopian :falco: game ;3

Oh thank you for initiating this advisory conduct in regard of my :metaknight:; in fact he still needs quite some tinkering really..

Yeah I noticed how it got somewhat predictable, as you had that bloody concrete-read (transcending even a 'hard read' xd) with the :diddy: side-b grab lol. You accordingly deserve major credits for that one, taking into account the fact that it was on WiFi ;o. Also noticed how you opted for the egg-lay with :yoshi2: to counter it.
Your awareness of the :metaknight: options is exceptional btw; I think you even pivotgrabbed the first frame of the landing lag of Tornado. I was like; wat is dis sorcery XD

Hey Deadjames. I'd love to 1v1
GGs Ben, ok so here's my advice. As far as Marth tech skill goes you've pretty much got that down, but don't neglect to practice it regardless. As for your gameplay:
-You rolled into me a lot, don't do that, good players will pick up on that and punish it.
-Don't go for so many Dolphin Slashes onstage, especially when your opponent is at low percents, I think I got at least like two free up-b's because of them.
-Don't be so aggressive offstage with Marth, he doesn't have a very good recovery or very many offstage options, you should be taking a more passive approach to edge-guarding, a lot of the kills I got could've been avoided if you just hogged the ledge instead of trying to spike me
-Try not to over-commit to dancing blade, I was having trouble punishing because of lag so I couldn't give you a good example, but the third hit is not safe on shield so if the first two hits get blocked you should stop or you're going to get shield grabbed.
-In general don't always be so aggressive, sometimes it's good to just hang back for a minute and get a feel for your opponent, or space attacks to shut down their approaches and keep them out of your space
-Which leads to my next point, learn to read your opponent, take note of any habits that you can pick up on and use them to your advantage, find out how certain situations make your opponent react and try to bait them into choosing bad options so you can punish them.

Edit: If you want I can get back on after I make some lunch and we can do some Marth dittos I don't know if that would be helpful or not, I mainly play him in Melee and P:M, but he's more or less the same in Brawl just slightly worse.

Thank you for the advice... I would love to practice later, but I don't think dittos will help me more than beating up heavy tech characters like ICS and Diddy.

I was experimenting with countering tornado. I always play super careful against MK, especially with Yoshi, it was really paying off lol

Well my ICs are garbage, but I can give you some Diddy practice if you want, personally I think Marth wins that MU, so once you learn it you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Hey guys I wanted to ask a question here (since I know a couple of you here LOL), what would be your definition of spamming? I mean like pertaining to Brawl and such. Apparently, to one of my IRL friends, spamming is using the same move twice... so like we were playing FFA, and like with Peach I used Forward Smash on him twice in a row (I did this once), and he said I was spamming... would you guys consider that spamming?

Well your friend was close~

My def. of spamming (in Brawl) is using a really strange move that shouldn't be used in a situation over and over, due to it being either unsafe, or that it stales your kill moves. Basically, you dont want to use any of your smashes until your opponent is at kill %. It is possible to spam rolls and spot dodges too, just rolling around when it makes you easier for your opponent to read you and punish you. Moves like Kirby/TL/Wolf's B-air or Marth/Ike/MK''s F-air are spammed, but since they are relatively safe, its okay... but using your D-smash everytime your opponent is open is considered spamming.
-
So basically, your friend wont say your spamming as long as you use almost all of your moves to get your opponent into kill %, and finish them off with your safest smash!

I would disagree with some of that, not all smashes are kill moves for example look at ZSS none of her smashes can kill, also some smashes are good for low percent combos such as Pika's, Luigi's, and Falco's usmashes.

Edit: @Ben: I know the feeling I went to a Melee tourney a few nights ago and my hand is still sore from wavedashing so much.
