Comparing when I went in 2005 and 2006, 2005 had a lot more hype and competition, so I can definitely see this trend.

Yeah EVO lost Toyota's sponsorship, they even moved it into some crummy rundown hotel on the strip of Las Vegas that was filled with prostitutes all over the place.

Hm, if we get a lot of people together this weekend, know what we ought to do?

We ought to draw names or numbers out of a hat and have a crew battle.


For those who don't know, in a crew battle, you have two teams "crews". Each crew has a set number of stocks divided evenly among its players. Then one of the players of one crew faces one of the players from the other. The loser is eliminated; the winner stays.

The loser's crew then chooses another player to face the winner from the other crew. However, the winner starts with the same number of stocks he had remaining after his initial victory. Play continues like that until one crew has all its members eliminated.

Example:

Crew A: P1, P2, P3, P4
Crew B: P5, P6, P7, P8

-P1 beats P5 with one stock remaining. P5 is gone.
-P1 starts with one stock going against P7.
-P7 finishes P1 without losing a stock.
-P7 has a full 3 stocks against P4.
-P7 beats P4 with one stock remaining.
-P7 starts with one stock against P3.
-P3 beats P7 with two stocks remaining.
-P3 starts with two stocks against P6.
-P6 beats P3 with one stock remaining.
-P6 starts with one stock against P2.
-P2 beats P6 with all three stocks intact.
-P2 has all three stocks against P8.
-P2 defeats P8.
-Crew B has lost all its members. Crew A wins.

Specific Rules

-No changing players in the middle of a fight.
-A player coming in can change the stage. Doing so allows the opponent to change characters. No changing characters otherwise.
-First match is double blind, with either a random neutral or agreed-upon stage.

and by crews i mean to compare to other cities, like dallas where there are like way more active people and can have an actual crew tourny. If you guys are talking about splitting yourselves up to do it, guess thats fine, just doesnt seem the same to me ;x

oh yeah we were definitely talking about splitting everyone up to do it. if lubbock had a crew, it would be just everyone that plays, not enough for 2 actual ones or whatever for sure lolz
