I've always enjoyed the announcer, no matter which one it is. And I've heard Pat Cashman sing so he's automatically my favorite.

Really represents the whole "best of both games" goal of Smash 4!He sounds really similar to Brawl's announcer but is more energetic like the Melee announcer, which is a pretty good balance.
I start to have a feeling that the Villager has a hidden dark secret...He's pretty good in general, sounds a lot like Pat Cashman.
However, what's up with the Villager sound clip? Usually the announcer says a character's name in a way that fits the character. Take Brawl's sound clips for example, Mario's is energetic, Luigi's has a "ummm... you sure about that?" vibe, while in Bowser's he sounds fierce and goes into a deep tone. Same can be heard here, with Greninja he sounds mysterious, with Pikachu he sounds energetic and ready to go. So why is it that with Villager he sounds all doomy and gloomy? And yeah yeah, I know the jokes, but that really is very weird imo.
That really is just a nitpick though, the rest of the characters sound fine to me.
Agreed, I hope they don't dub the voices this time around. The English announcer sounds great.Spanish names of Pokémon are the same and there was a Spanish dub for the announcer and some characters. Kind of wierd, because Lucario (yes, Lucario), Pokémon Trainer and the announcer spoke Spanish but spacies, Falcon, Ness, Ike, Peach etc. still spoke in English. And of course, Marth spoke in Japanese. It was pretty strange... and also, this Spanish dub was pretty bad.
Cool! The way he says a few of the characters names is eghhhh, especially how he says Link, Villager and Mega Man's name. But I absolutely LOVE how he says Greninja, Donkey Kong, and Mario's names! Much better! This might sound weird, but the announcer is one of the things that really gets me hyped for the game! And the Smash 4 announcer is amazing, in my opinion.
Take a look at this video:

I just friggin' LOVE how the new announcer says Donkey Kong, Sonic and Olimar!
What are your thoughts on this announcer? To me, since he kind of sounds similar to the Brawl announcer (Pat Cashman), this announcer kind of sounds like a better version of him, if you get my driftReally like how he says all the names!

Let me guess, You talking about Melee's announcer.I still think Dean Harrington was the best. Everything he said sounded so guttural and epic. It was hilariously over-the-top in a good way and was the type of voice that just gets you pumped to play some Smash. The heavy emphasis on the voice echo also added a lot of gravitas to his performance.
I wasn't a fan of Brawl's announcer and this new guy sounds almost identical to him. No offence to them but compared to Harrington, it sounds phoned in.
What gave it away?Let me guess, You talking about Melee's announcer.
Something from a past Smash Bros game and over-complimenting it and then comparing it to Brawl. What gave it away?
Yeah, shame on me for sharing my opinion and praising something I like. Also I didn't compare it to Brawl's, I just said that this new announcer sounds identical to Cashman's performance and I don't care for it. I also think Melee's announcer is superior to the original's, I just didn't bring it up because I didn't feel I needed to.Something from a past Smash Bros game and over-complimenting it and then comparing it to Brawl.
Again, it's just my opinion.Anyway, I don't agree with you at all. I feel like the announcer gets better every game. Melee's announcer was a like a slightly less epic Brawl announcer, Or well Brawl's announcer just got enhanced in every way.
Yeah and my post was just my opinion too, Shame on me for sharing my opinion on your opinion.Yeah, shame on me for sharing my opinion and praising something I like. My guess is the VA saw the memes of Villager and was all " heeey.. I could use that"He's pretty good in general, sounds a lot like Pat Cashman.

"A new record! IT'S GRRRR-EAT!"He sounds like Tony the Tiger half of the time.
