The MANLIEST of MANLY edgeguards...

I've experimented with all characters to find the MANLIEST of MANLY edge-guards (of course, it's not limited to male characters, just MANLY in that it requires daring and courage just to perform it, or because it's so comically underrated that when used properly, it becomes UNSTOPPABLE!). I've come up with a list of my favorites, but mainly I want to know what edge-guard you favor the most. It doesn't have to be powerful, heck, it doesn't even have to hit them back out into oblivion! Just tell us what your favorite edge-guard is of ALL TIME!

Top Ten of my favorite edge-guards, in no particular order:
1) Wall-jumped (reversed, for those pesky Link, Y. Link, and Samus users) Falcon Punch! It's amazing, but it's an automatic SD regardless of whether or not you hit them. Plus, if it's Link, Y. Link, or Samus they could tech off the wall. But it's still as manly as EVER. And tied with it is the Suicidal Warlock Punch - Jump out after your opponent (especially returning Samus's) and Warlock Punch 'em in the FACE! I mean, it's SO MANLY, that afterwards, the opponents character has the word MANLY Stamped into their face.
2) Wavedash to Luigi's taunt FTW!
3) Luigi's dtilt: Pops those pesky Fox and Falco users up from the edge for one last F-air!
4) Luigi's fireball (there's a Fireball Jump guide in the Luigi Forum...I believe it's "Semi-Useless Luigi Tech #2")
5) GaW's Dtilt. It's one of those moves where it says "MANLY" all over it.
6) Ganon and Falcon's donward ftilt. How's that foot taste?
7) Wall-jumped KNEEEEEEE!!!!!!! :rotfl: It's amazing.
8) Wall-jumped Falco Phantasm Meteor.
9) Falco's Wall-jump spike! So terrifyingly MANLY, that men everywhere cry when defeated this way.
10) Pichu's taunt! Doesn't do an inkling of damage or knockback, but it sends a clear message to the opponent: COME BACK AND DIE!

na, jump from the ledge, turn around falcon punch, land on the stage during process

that's an insane edgegaurd (good luck pulling it off, i've only done it a couple of tiems, hit with it once...on a comp of course, not reliable enough to use in a real battle)

Ganon's reversed Uair. Jeah...it's beast.

Although, I like being on the ledge with Marth, then countering people when they try to sweetspot or go above me. It usually results in SD, but still just kinda like '****.'

Another one that's just like 'jee jee uninstall' is Ganon's Utilt...

My personal favorites would have be...Dropping from the ledge with ganon/falcon at FD and Up+B-ing your opponent into the wall causing a meteor effect, and laying a bomb right on the edge with link and taunting until they hit it.

what, isn't it manly anymore to throw yourself off the ledge and rest someone just as their up+b ends?

Double Reverse Uair with Ganon = Manly Win.

G&W's Panspike...nuff said

Jump out at opponent and 9 Hammer them...random MANLINESS.

Bowser's Klaw Suicide, while biting them on the way down. The pinnacle of Manliness. :demon:

Samus, SWD to charged shot while they hang on the ledge.

Also, reverse SWD to dair meteor spike.

Falco shinespiking Yoshi out of his second jump. That's just godly.

Link's grounded up B. Extreme knockback ftw... My competition sucks... And the marth player simply can't get past it. How CAN they get past it (as marth)?

It is too true. I have turned many a dignified opponent into an ashamed sulking squeeb through the power of this tactic's MANLINESS. I have even driven my opponents to shutting off the console mid-game and walking away in embarassment after being nailed by it for the third time that match.

Manly.

intercepting a recovery as luigi by dropping below the ledge (if they're trying to sweetspot it) and getting a misfire right into their face.

Donkey Kong's f-tilt is funny. It makes a "smacking" noise which delivers a message: you just b**** slapped in the face *****! How manly of DK lol.

Here's a funny tactic: Have somebody hold and push A to get extra hits. Than have DK use his forward tilt it's funny. It makes it look like they are interrogating the victim. AKA "you hold, I punch."

Nothing is more manly, and yet perverting, as Captain Falcon's Up+B. There's nothing quite like the feel of violating someone into the depth's of their own defeat.

Best edgeguard ive seen happen in a real match:
Jump off falcon punch, performed by the great SilentSpectre at MLG Anaheim. Doubles match with Bob$ against two random kids (they were brothers it looked like). Both Bob and Jeff have atleast 3 stock left. The younger kid on the other team has one stock and hes trying to come back. SS just runs off the stage and throws out a falcon punch, it hits and the kid kind of pauses, then unplugs his controller and tries to explain to his dad what just happened.

SS also had one of the most nuts kills i've ever seen; moonwalk to up-b. someone yelled for him to do it and he does it for the kill. it was BANANAS!

Link's spin attack spikes you on a downward arc when hit from the undertip. Marth's counter works pretty well, jumping off the ledge with fox, falling under your opponent then use the Mcloud flip (Uair) and recover. Those are just some of the really, unexpected crazy edgeguards.

How is link's Up B a crazy unpredictable edgeguard? It only works on opponents who have a very hard time sweetspotted the edge (G&W, Pichu on Battlefield from below stage.) However, it is still fun to hit with it.

The most manly edgeguard however is a perfect moonwalk with Captain Falcon from one side of Final Destination to the other and then a walljump falcon punch, and then the opponent smash DI's on every freeze frame ti the direct opposite side of where Captain falcon was hit, assuming they were hit away from Final Destination, and then Walljump-ledge teches, the opponent Meteor Smashes them, captain falcon meteor cancels at the very lowest point possible on FD, and gets hit in the falcon dive by his teammate Samus who has come to save him hits him with a fully charged Charge Beam, and on all 28 Smash DI frames Captain Falcon smash DI's Diagonally towards that stage, and straight towards the stage, and walljump teches and Up B's to sweetspot the edge perfectly, and then Edgehogs Samus for Shooting him. Now that is the most manly edgeguard ever.

I win.

Manliest edgeguard is getting out of your chair, standing infront of your opponent, and ripping off your chest hair infront of him.
