It's actually there to increase consistency in match results. When both players have 1 stock, and Bowser connects with a Bowsercide, the result displayed by the game is determined by controller port. If Bowser has a higher (closer to 1) controller port, he'll win, but if he has a lower (closer to 4) port, it'll go to sudden death. That's a lot dumber than just flat-out giving Bowser the win in the first place.Why would you want the bowser to win with the stupid bowsercide? Thats got to be the dumbest rule I've ever heard to be honest.. I mean imagine if the bowsers at 150% and the other guy just died and now he's going to win with 1 smash.. but the bowsercide makes the noob win.. Why?
