OMG seeing those results makes me so happy I want to cry! It's a very small sample, but I really, really hope that this is pretty accurate as far as what the Japanese fans want overall.

I'd like to think that Sakurai will choose one or two characters that appeal to the extreme demographics. Say, K. Rool is heavily supported by males & females, then he goes with Isaac (highly supported by males) and Roy (mostly supported by females). Both may not be high in the rankings as some other choices, but were really strong in the gender demographic. If he goes picking chars that are all mostly male-dominated contenders, where's the fun in it for the active female base?The Japanese know what's up.
Yeah, it's a small sample, but it should't be totally ignored because the results are all from Twitter it seems. Interesting I guess, if not for some wonky results on some characters. Guess people have different mindsets over there, but I'm not complaining haha.
I'm wondering why the ballot has the option for gender. I would have thought they'd kept it anonymous, though since there's the option there must be a reason why. Possibly they want to see trends based on gender demographics and gather more data.
They only problem I could see is that people could lie about their gender. But, sometimes it does come down to data analyzing and marketing. So, it's possible.
That means we will get a shirtless Roy costume like the Shulk one?
It can't be any pose. It has to be his Melee taunt. And I'd honestly prefer if he remains off-screen until a full-charged Flare Blade is let loose. Maybe they can keep him cropped off camera and Marth notices him charging up (sound effect from Melee plays in the background), then leads his pursuer in Roy's direction only to bait him into a gloriously explosive 1-hit KO (going slow-mo at first, panning over the blade from tip to hilt, then boom).
Whoah, Lady Palutena! Check this guy out! His sword's on fire! ON FIRE! That seems to be the case. And no wonder: that's Roy, the Prince of Pherae. He fought to save his homeland of Lycia from a wicked tyrant, and the weapon he wields is the legendary Sword of Seals. It burns with the intensity of a true hero, and offers Roy incredible power. Woah, that's hardcore! I wish my bow was on fire...maybe then I wouldn't get teased so much for it. Oh, nonsense, Pit. The bow is a noble weapon befitting any up-and-coming heavenly champion! Are you just saying that 'cos it's named after you? Maybe. Anyway, that's not important. What is important is not getting hit by that sword! Those flames will put the hurt on you like nothing else, and the weapon itself is pretty dangerous, too. Roy's power is concentrated at the base of his blade, so try to keep your distance from him. Oh, and watch out for his Flare Blade attack: one hit from that will launch you into next week! Sheesh, this guy sounds pretty intense. Where can I get a sword like that? From any good divine weapons specialist, of course! Oh, so you think if I asked Dyntos nicely, he would--? I was being ironic, Pit. Oh. Right.
Well the trailer wouldn't show Roy until he uses his Flare Blade (only cropping at his cape, hair, etc..) until he uses the attack. It would sorta be like Lucas only it would show Roy walking before hand (not his entire body, just like his outfit and what not).
Would be pretty funny if Pit mentioned Roy having a similar hairstlye as him.
Give him the scabbard.

As much as it'd be nice to have Roy's theme in his trailer, I think this theme fits better for a hypetastic trailer.
I've mastered FE7 and FE6. Be sure to use a guide for Gaiden chapters so you can get the feels ending and truly squeeze the full power out of the Sword of Seals.
Heh, I caught that theme. I would be too worried about it being Lyndis playable, then I would get hyped for Eliwood potentially playable, then I would see Roy playable and I would be all kinds of confused.

That would definitely be the best case scenario. I really want to make a kind of trivia post detailing Roy, and why his signature weapon the Sword of Seals is amazing. Needless to say, SSBM doesn't do him justice when it comes to the feats he can perform...

I see potential in Roy. For those of us who want a more unique moveset on Roy, we just have to speak up in the ballot. Send ideas on new moves, and the custom specials Roy could have since Marth and Lucina outright failed in that department. With enough feedback, it can be a reality.
