Probably because you don't know anything about either of the current metagames. Melee's current metagame is absolutely insane, but you probably don't care about that because you've got some vendetta against high tiers.

I WISH more people payed attention to Melee's current metagame because it's downright amazing. I've got other places I go to when I want to actually talk about smash though. All the Melee players in this thread don't really care, and Brawl has now been divided because of the MK ban.

Hey now, I actually know quite a bit about Melee's metagame. I've been watching streams and videos of the most recent big tournaments. The only really different thing I've seen is Hungrybox losing to Armada's Young Link 2 tourneys in a row, by camping of all things.

Armada's Peach is so good with its sick edgeguarding, which is what a LOT of finishing moves have become recently, which it actually should have been a long time ago.

Space animals are still crazy technical, but I've seen Freddy, Lee, and Tim do a lot of that stuff on a daily basis.

Plus, why would I bother learning a lot of stuff about Puff? Puff's a TOP tier. Vendetta against hier tiers? Weird... Yeah I'm playing Kirby, but that's because it's just fun for me to play as him. I try to mix playing for fun with playing to win. Plus I've been studying up Kirby's matchups. That's how I've actually been able to WIN with him.

Don't be mad, especially because of one's personal opinion. I actually do keep up with the Melee metagame contrary to popular belief.

It's the same thing with my Brawl Peach, though I don't understand Brawl nearly as much. She's just fun. I'm learning as I play.

Like I said also, this is IMO.

but who really plays melee that has a good knowledge of the metagame that still posts here? i feel like its just myself. lee posts every once in a while but everyone else left this lame *** thread because it was ruined a long time ago. it is my duty however, to stay and ***** everyone out for being gay.

people that could actually have input on melee but dont post (or post rarely):
cyphus, freddy, tim, kyle, lee, ect.

im just offended by the statement melee players "dont care," as though we're not as good as you because we're not researching the current things going on in top level play.

i assure you, the best la players are keeping up with the top player's games. the br community is constantly having discussions about current game play and strategies, and know just as much, if not more, of the metagame than you. after all, you're really not that good at melee.

i decided i should post whether or not im serious from now on so i wont offend anyone when im joking. it will ruin any jokes that could be entertaining, but i would rather that than be trolled by 10 people for no reason.

The things you describe in this post pretty much equate to very little, especially boiling down space animals to "technical." You mention pretty much nothing about how far reads and mindgames have come, especially in the wake of the quickening pace of the metagame due to way more technical accuracy. You say nothing about how hard camping has arisen as a playstyle in some areas (M2K, Hbox), and nothing about how comboing evolved and become more intuitive. You might watch videos, but clearly you're not paying attention. That's why, even though you have an opinion, I don't respect it. It's poorly informed.

I don't see why you interpreted the "don't care" as me thinking I'm better than other people. That's completely uncalled for. I said what I said. Melee people who post here don't care, there's nothing more to look into. Your examples of players who do care are irrelevant, because I was talking about people who post here. That post was clearly directed at why no one talks about smash in this topic. I neither said nor implied anything about smash discussion outside this topic.

Calling out my skill in Melee is even more irrelevant. What, do you expect to hurt my feelings? I know all my essential Melee flaws. 90% of what I know comes from practicing on comps because I didn't have any local players to play with. However, that hasn't stopped me from beating a lot of local players. IIRC, I beat you in tournament. And I got 7th at Last, which was higher than every other LA Melee player except Kyle. None of that means I'm amazing at the game, but I'm definitely sure that I'm not bad. If I had access to actual players so I can learn MUs and fix some bad habits, I'm pretty sure I'd be better than a lot of people in the Melee scene, including you. But unfortunately I'm stuck being an average player because I've got no one to play with. So you can sit on your pedestal with that one.

That's the spirit. I'd much rather you not voice your opinion about smash if it's going to be something stupid every time you open your mouth. You're a cool guy other than that.

Mura, one day I'll have to play you in a full set when I'm actually trying at 100%. When we do that, then we can talk about smash. And yes, I sandbag in nearly all of my matches, even tourney matches. Until then, you keep your opinions to yourself and I'll keep mine.

There is no Melee in Indiana.

And I'm only doing this to solve some attitude problems people have in this thread. A couple of the older posters seem to think they have license to say whatever they want because no one calls them out on it. Taylor comes in and says a ton of stupid, drama-starting ****, but no one calls him out. Vaughn comes in randomly and tells everyone smash is a bad game, but no one says anything. Sudai condescends to everyone all the time on every subject, but people seem afraid to tell him to shut up. Yet when one of the newer posters says something stupid, everyone's quick to jump on them. I'm choosing to be impartial now. There are just as many old posters ruining this thread as there are new posters. I'm one of the only ones willing to say anything about it, so I don't care if that makes me look angry. If everybody would just cease trying to step on each other's toes, this thread could have a lot less drama, and it starts with the older posters.

That was a general statement. You've come in here plenty of times just to say how much you dislike smash and/or it's metagame. No one needs to hear that. It's just like Brawl bashing. Needless, drama-starting bull****. Keep it to yourself.

the only thing im going to say is i get called out EVERY time i say something mean. joking or not.

oh one more thing. i remember when i liked mura. he must have had sex for the first time or something and now he's always trying to show his nuts.

So true Mura. The biggest thing recently that annoyed me was the incident with Brawlman being "overconfident" just by having a goal/intention of beating Lee. NOTHING he said was even remotely in the realm of cockiness but it seemed like nobody wanted to back up Brawlman even though he clearly did nothing wrong.

Also Taylor the people who call you out are indeed most of the newer people who don't have a desire to put up with the comments you often make. Not to mention little remarks like the one you just said about Mura trying to show his nuts does not help the situation. Stop talking down at people all of the time.

I just wanted to explain how the thread got into this mess in the first place, now this happens.

Whatever, if it's anything I've gotten better at other than learning to have fun with this game, it's learning to not give a ****, so that's what I'm gonna do.
