No idea if this means anything but didn't the Arcade Bunny say Ashley's future is bright near the end of that game's lifespan?

I'm not sure I lost interest in the Badge arcade towards the end. I can't find any instance of him saying Ashley's future is bright (although it wouldn't surprise me if he did) however, He did say Ashley is by far the favorite character from her series.

They didn't say exactly, it could be anything from Display only for shops or even a pre-order bonus. So that would be pretty cool, I could put this along with my collection of Ashley merch.

Also, yes, the Bunny did say
Ashley's potential has been awoken, so look forward to the future of Ashley
. This message was in the Japanese version only, however, we did get the last set off badges. I bought every single badge and kept tabs on what he said about Ashley, at one point he said she was by far the most loved of her series.

I guess if something like the badge arcade is brought to the switch then Ashley's legacy will continue.

I would literally flip at the idea of HD Ashley badges, the game did fairly well in Japan and Ashley was the mascot of the game, it seems. People would say Nikkie or isabelle, but Ashley was used to promote games, hell, she even crossed with a third party title, Monster Hunter in the Arcade.

Not to mention Ashley was the final update to the game. They even made a story about it and why Ashley wore so many outfits, apparently in the translation Ashley thought wearing all of those clothes would make her popular, in the end, it paid off.

Ynow, if Ashley did get in, do you think she would get some alternate costumes referencing some of these badges? It would be hilarious, awesome, and a very cool reference to the badge arcade. Plus, I think we would all want to play some of these costumes.

Nintendo likes to play dress up doll with Ashley. Knowing how zany WarioWare is it would certainly fit the character. If Wario get a pallet swap so should Ashley!

In fact, instead of generic pallet swaps, e.g changing her colors, she should have some outfits from the Badge Arcade. She had a mage robe, a creepy nurse outfit, traditional witch costume line in her badge and comic. It would make a lot of sense, and very fun to play with her various costumes.

Though likely I'd be maining the original Ashley, I'd give the other outfits a try.

>Playing For Glory
>Comes across an Ashley player
>Doesn't wanna harm Ashley

Man this thread really took off after E3. Let's hope the ride keeps going to the destination we're hoping for.

This is an infographic I found regarding the Badge Arcade's finale. I'm sure most people here know the gist of it, but if you don't it's worth a look

I'm crossing my fingers for a Crazy Galaxy alt where her wand is replaced with a guitar. But that might be reaching a bit too much.
If she only gets alternate colors I hope for either a Black or Purple dress.

Worst case scenario, we get 8 variations of the classic look. Best case scenario, she pulls a little mac and beyond on us and goes all in on the different outfits. Honestly, with the amount of polish they are putting on everything, as well as the fact that Ridley did get his meta form as an alternate, I do not think this is so far fetched if she does get in.

  1. Regular Ashley
  2. Legend of Zelda Ashley
  3. Splatoon Ashley
  4. Monster Hunter Ashley
  5. Pajama Ashley
  6. Halloween Ashley
  7. Santa Ashley
  8. Tank Troopers Ashley
A whole list of possible palette swaps for Ashley. If Bowser Jr., The Village, and Inkling can get pallet swaps so can Ashley!

How would this sound for a rough moveset?

Normals: She usually has Red transformed into a wand, which she uses for attacks. Many attacks send out magical blasts. She is light and fast, but her attacks aren't tremendously fast (though nor are they slow). However, they are fairly strong and have good range. Some attacks, including her forward smash, are even projectiles.

Up B: She turns Red into his broom form and can freely fly around for a few seconds. While on the broom, there are some special A-attacks you can use unique to this state. This ending does not put her in free fall. However, after using it, if you use it immediately afterwards, it won't last as long.

Neutral B: Ashley takes out her cauldron and starts brewing. After a second, she creates a potion, which is a held item. Pressing neutral b again will cause her to drink it, giving her a temporary buff to speed and knockback. It can also be thrown as a projectile which explodes for splash damage upon making contact with a surface or a character. If you hold the button down, you can have her spend up to 3 seconds brewing, which makes for a somewhat stronger potion. While brewing, she will automatically pick up any projectiles thrown at her and any items in her vicinity, throwing them into the cauldron, increasing the strength of the potion significantly. A potion that has taken a fully charged samus charge shot, for example, can kill even earlier than the charged shot.

Side B: After a windup, Ashley sends out a projectile. If this hits a character, they are not damaged or knocked back. Instead, they turn into a tiny animal or some other object (like a sentient spoon) that can jump and run. However, it has no attacks or specials. They are also easier to launch while a spoon. This state lasts two seconds.

Down B: Ashley winds up for a second, before firing a spell at the ground (you can alter the trajectory to make it hit closer to or farther from her). After a few seconds, a piranha plant will sprout from the ground, chomping the nearest enemy This deals a lot of damage and kills early.

Ashley is capable of shooting purple lightning from her hand.

The turning her teacher into a spoon is only mentioned in the English version of Ashley's song. I don't know if very many Japanese people would get the reference.

Well Ashley's got to have something about brewing a potion. Brewing a potion is how they introduced her!

Well, I was more going for a sort of baleful polymorph spell in general. It could also be a small animal or a potted plant or something. Felt having that as a special fit her more than some blast of magic. She needs something kind of silly and out there.

yeah, a polymorph in general would work. It would certainly make Ashley original and stand out from the rest of the Smash cast.

They're pop-out standees meant as a pre-order bonus for Gold in Japan. You mentioned a merch collection? All I have are the Club Nintendo dust cloths and the only other thing I know of is that little phone charm thing from 2004. What else is there?

I have the Club Nintendo reward, the keychain, and the rest are custom made like an Ashley plush that sits on the dresser. I'd still like to own the Nintendo Eshop card with Ashley printed on it. Just to hang it up.

Oddly enough, I too have a handmade Ashley plush that someone made for me. I'll have to show you sometime.

This is what I have, and I'm ordering a few more. I would love it very much if Ashley got official plushies. Those would sell decently in Japan, and maybe even here.

Also, an idea for an Ashley themed stage would be Ashley's Story Book, where the stage goes to the right, all while you avoid those flying cookies coming right at you, maybe breaking them would release an item. Fit in the final boss somehow as well.

Ashley as a whole could bring a lot of interesting things to Smash Brothers, her whole character just works well with it.

I've seen some people insist that Waluigi being knocked off the stage in the Smash Direct was just Sakurai messing with people and that he'll "cheat" his way into the battle. If for some reason that happened, I could see this being a way to reveal Ashley as well.

Waluigi hits the ground hard, stands up and looks around, seeing that he hasn't disappeared from the arena as he used to. He shrugs, pulls out his tennis racket, and runs at Marth.

WALUIGI cheats his way into battle!

Waluigi runs towards Marth and sees Assist Trophies appear on the ground. He holds one up, and just as Ashley is about to pop out, he chucks it at Marth's head. Ashley crashes into Marth and stands up, furious at Waluigi.

ASHLEY brings the magic!

She attacks Waluigi. He could pick up another Assist and bring out Dillon, or Isaac, or anyone. It could end with the Assist characters and Marth all beating up Waluigi.

Every day we don't get a deconfirmation I breathe a sigh of relief.
You and me both. The Smash blog fills me with dread rather than excitement this time. She could be an Assist tomorrow.

I almost kind of Wonder if Sakurai has a disliking for Waluigi.

Between his Miiverse comment and the fact that Waluigi happened to be the AT being beaten up and KO'd in the Smash Direct it seems he is annoyed with the character. I guess something about Waluigi rubs Sakurai the wrong way.

Fortunately I'm sure he likes Ashley.

I don't see why there's any debate about Ashley's popularity in comparison to the rest of the WW cast considering Badge Arcade...

If I recall correctly, Sakurai once called Ashley a rising star. Probably back in 2015 when Ashley just about launched herself to the top. It could also be just as Smash Ulmate would have started, or a year later.

It seems as though he has a fondness for WarioWare, I think I heard somewhere he prefers it over Wario Land. It's possible he likes Ashley, seeing as she was given an updated song in smash Wii u, 3ds Smash had Ashley's song over the rest, assist and Mii outfit. I think it's safe to assume he knows about Ashley and how much people love her.

Especially with the Arcade Bunny being an assist he more than likely knows of Ashley's popularity

I had the mother of all daft ideas.

What if Ashley and Lip got into Ultimate, with one as the echo of another?

It's weird, because Ashley has lots of moveset potential to be only an echo, but if that were ever the case I'd still welcome it. Because I always thought Ashley could use Red in more ways, like, all her specials.

It wouldn't make sense unless Lip had a little partner as well, but if the other way around and Ashley is an Echo of Lip I'd say Ashley is the superior one!

Ashley's more into the dark arts, brews potions and, has Red as her companion. I suppose if Lip has similar material to draw upon since the two are roughly the same size but, otherwise, it seems Lip would have to be able to mimic Ashley more so than the other way around. Ashley has more things from her games having Ashley mimic Lip would put a cap on her capabilities.

Something I am really looking forward to this Smash is the fact that we may have both the codec conversations and Palutena's Guidance for all these characters and future newcomers. I am just curious what they would do when they talk about Ashley. I imagine the codec to be similar to the Ness codec from Brawl, except highlighting her magic nature. Palutena's Guidance could go any number of ways, all of which potentially funny.

I imagine Viridi would make fun of Ashley and say she is just as edgy as Pittoo(Dark Pit). :p

I almost imagine Pit being a fan of hers due to her cosplay shenanigans. He seems like the kinda person who played badge arcade and lose a lot of money due to terrible luck in getting what he wanted.

Snake's back too which means we might get some of his codecs. Back in Brawl during Zelda's codec Snake refused to believe magic exists.
