As others said, something like Toon Link would be nice (especially if her run animation is on her broom: why would she actually run? Who have time for things like that?).
That way we would have a fast magic user, compared to Zelda, Ganondorf and Robin (we could argue that Palutena goddess' powers are magic though, and she is fast).

You know, I have been thinking. If Ashley does not get revealed before WW Gold comes out for some reason-- theoretically, could the game be datamined to find information on compatible amiibos like Ashley's? Though I guess they might patch the data in for her amiibo after she gets revealed.

Ridley's Amiibo will be available on launch day. We still don't know when Inkling and Daisy will be on store shelves. When Ashley gets in I'd assume her Amiibo will be released on launch day at the earliest as well.

I'm sure Nintendo though ahead to patch in the other Newcomer Amiibo later otherwise, they'd spoil the whole roster.

That being said, we don't know which Amiibo will be compatible with WW Gold. It's safe to assume Wario's Amiibo will be compatible. The leak seemed to indicate every Amiibo will do something.

I guess we'll have to wait for the next Nintendo direct.

I mentioned that a while ago, and I really hope we're both right. I can't see why they would hide an amiibo for a game like WW.

I remember someone claiming a July 5th direct but, Nintendo would probably have announced that by now.

There was someone else saying July 20th. That's probably fake too but, I'd assume a new direct would arrive before the game.

Don't be so sure. Wasn't the Direct Mini in January rumored to be a regular-sized one for at least 2 weeks before? We might wake up to a buttload of information plopped into our laps.

The data for future playable characters is different from Amiibo data. The WW Gold dev team probably doesn't even know who's going to be in Smash except for Ashley.

If Gold is released and we still don't know anything about Ashley in Smash I'll probably get discouraged.

That has to be a big moment in the Nintendo family. You create a character and Sakurai asks for them to be in Smash Brothers. The entire office must have a field day while they create parts of the trailer.

It might also alter the course of development. They probably ask themselves the the question: "Now that Ashley is in Smash how can we give her a bigger role in WW Gold?"

What would an Ashley side story be like? Maybe she accidentally brings in a monster from an alternate dimension that terrorizes Diamond city and Ashley needs to find ingredients to seal it away.

She did get that full call in the prologue for Gold. Wario calls the first three of the Warioware crew and then Ashley who didn't even appear until the fourth game, then everyone else gets rushed past. That's just a subtle hint from the developers that her status as an icon in WW has definitely risen.

I hope that manifests in game. She hung up on Wario, so maybe she does her own thing for the microgame contest, or maybe she wins it entirely.

A new Character announcement at the end of the direct will make it more than a mini. They'll want everyone to watch it if it involves Smash.

You talk as if someone wouldn't watch a Direct Mini just because it's a Mini. Besides, a Smash announcement would make the online news in seconds anyway. People would know.

Ashley finally captures Orbulon and sacrifices him as the final ingrediant she needed to seal the monster away thus completing the prophesy she saw in WW touched!

People like to watch the character trailers live. That's why they announced the Robin and Lucina trailer a few days before the reveal.

Actually it would be interesting to see if Ashley is capable of seeing into the future with a crystal ball.

Nothing in game shows them getting money, but I like to think that Wario isn't that much of a jerk and does actually pay his friends for their help.

Edit: turns out he is that much of a jerk. The ending of the first game shows this.
