Welcome To Panem
Welcome to The Hunger Games: An On Going Halo 3 Competition. This Competition is based off of a book written by Suzanne Collins. Entitled: THE HUNGER GAMES. First things first, is a bit of background information on the book.
In the ruins of North America, a nation has risen up from the ashes. Panem, a shining capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Panem keeps a tight, dictator like rule over the districts. In order to show the districts who's in charge, they force two children from each district, one boy and one girl between the ages of 13 and 18, to fight to the death in a large arena every year. The entire event is shown on Live TV, and watching every gruesome moment is mandatory. This is set to take place much longer after the books. Now, every year they only send 16 children in. Only one will ever return. YOU have been chosen to compete in the Hunger Games, can you survive?
So What's All This Then?
This is a Halo 3 competition based much off the book, to the fullest extent that I could. It will be an ongoing competition of sorts, with each round taking place a year after each other. Each Round will be different from the others, much the same as The Hunger Games change from year to year. The winner of each of the 15 Rounds will move on to a Grand Finale tournament, where they can put there skills to the test with the other winners. Just because you win or lose in one round does not mean you can not compete in others, you may play in any round regardless of how you placed previously.
The Rules
As I have previously stated, the rules will vary from round to round, and you will NEVER know exactly what they will be until the match begins. You do know a few general rules that never seem to change though, from your years of watching the hunger games.
1. WEAPONS WILL NEVER RESPAWN: Much like in real life, when you pick up an item, it's not there for anyone else to claim.
2. EACH ROUND TAKES PLACE ON A DIFFERENT TURF: Unless I run out of stages, each round will take place somewhere else.
3. ONLY ONE CAN SURVIVE: This fight isn't about fights to a score limit, but rather it's a one shot deal. You get one life, and it's either kill or be killed.
4. TEAMWORK BRINGS YOU VICTORY: Although it's true only one person can survive, usually it's better to temporarily team up with another player. Most people make their treaties before the game starts, then get on a party channel. It can be difficult to communicate during the game.
5. THE CORNUCOPIA: In the general, middle section of the arena, lies the cornucopia. This one site contains the most powerful weapons, items, and equipment available. There are weapons scattered across the field, but if you want to really get the power punch, you've got to fight your way to here. Because if someone else scoops it up before you do, you may be out of luck.
Sponsors
Your points in this game represent the interest your various sponsors have in you. If you have more points than anyone else, you will get a special bonus from them. Whether it's infinite ammo, a radar, active camo, or something else, you will get it. Why do they spend so much money on you? Because they have money bet ON you! They WANT you to win! You get points by wooing the crowd in various ways, all of them dealing with pleasing the crowd. Remember, your on Live TV! Make a show of your fierceness, and you will be sure to get sponsors.
Requirements For Competing
Not much is required to participate in this competition from week to week. Items marked with a * are optional, but reccomended.
An XBOX360 Gold Subscription.
Your Own Copy of Halo 3.
Microphone*
An MP3 Player having the song "Survivor" playing in the background as you are still alive. Turn it off when your dead, you are no longer a survivor.*

What Happens After Each Round?
Although after the first fight in each round, the round is over and the winner is declared. BUT for those of you who wish to keep playing The Hunger Games on this round, I will be hosting two further 'consolation' games. Participating and Winning these games will net you a reserved spot in the next Round, but not in the Finals. Participating in the consolation rounds is NOT required after completion of the first. Stay only if you have the time.
Where Do I Sign?
To participate in the current round, simply leave your XBOXLiVE gamertag stating that you wish to join. I will add you to my friends list TEMPORARILY, so that I can invite you to the game. If you are not on at the time the round starts, (As in, not signed on) you will be removed from the round. Understand what you are getting into when you sign up for this. This is a Halo 3 Variation that is completely unlike anything you have ever played before. Luck will most certainly play a minor role in the results, but so will skill, much more so. If your up for the challenge, sign up! (NOTE: Signing up for one round will NOT sign you up for any further rounds, and you CANNOT sign up before they are open. The only exception is the reserved spots.)
