Source on the Amiibo Treasures?

Also, in terms of her being revealed along with Lucas, I doubt it, as these sites are basing it off of Matt Bozon's original "See you in Smash! ;)" tweet, which he later confirmed was him just having fun with it and that the votes are what really count.

It could just be a skin for now until it's fleshed out more, not every person that models can rig new animations; is a full fledged modder. But whatever is the case, at least some more 3D models of Shantae exist for people to use.

Yeah I guess you're right.. With the way the model looks right now, it kinda looks like something you would see in melee XD. (Not that that is a bad thing.. it just doesn't look like it fits yet) It definitely needs some more polish.

I'll admit, that mod makes me really worried about one thing... Shantae making the jump to 3D.

The only characters who lacked 3D designs before being put in Smash were the :falcon64::samus64:, :marthmelee:,:roymelee:, :popo::icsmelee: & :4pit:.

Captain Falcon & Samus were made out of the pre-existing models from when the game was Dragon King or whatever the initial beta was.

Marth & Roy... are pretty straight up normal human and didn't have a particular "art style" associated with then as the actual art designers for the FE games had been fairly fluid.

Icies worked damn well and Pit recieved a HEFTY redesign from his one from the NES & GBA game, best seen in Melee as...

Shantae, for being such a stylized design with fluid sprite and, as of Pirate's curse, hand-drawn animation work... I'm a little apprehensive about how well she may make that 3D transition.

Well, although this might not be a great example persay, but if they can make a 8-Bit version of Duck Hunt Duo and even Megaman work well in design to the character, than I'm sure with a great team of devs that is the Wayforward team and the likes of Sakurai's team, I think that can make her work out well, imo.

Megman, CLASSIC Megaman has been 3D by the "Powered Up" remakes of the classic games on PSP, albeit more chibified. They got his proportions right for Smash.

:4duckhunt: ... I admit, I excluded from that list out of forgetfulness. But them just being a Disney-esque Dog & Duck may be seen as easier to retain. And to be that kind of nit-picker, they actually messed up Duck Hunt. In the original, the bottom half of his jaw kept the dark brown of his fur and THEY SCREWED UP HIS LAUGH, THE ONE ICONIC PART ABOUT HIM!

Like I said, I'm just a bit apprehensive. I'm sure that they'd do their best but... I dunno, the Renders done for the Rhythm Heaven characters I've seen have unsettled me.

I think Shanate can make a good transition to 3D.
I'll bring this up again.

Granted, while this isn't a 3D model, it's a great representation of how a 3D Shantae could look. It keeps the charm and look of the character while adding an extra dimension.

And that's a great 3d-ish design. But not a full model and certainly not in motion.
Do I think it can happen? Hell to the yes. I just worry a bit.

The difference between a trophy and a character is how much work is put into it.
FOr trophies, it's "Oh, it's just one out of hundreds of trophies, we can make something half-decent."
whereas for characters, they've got a lot to consider -- the look itself needs to be great, the animation needs to be fluent, etc.

I have faith that they'll make a good model for Shantae.

My point with Pit is that he recieved an overhaul of design, that's all. He was just one of few examples where a fighter's first look in 3D was IN Smash

It's understandable, the jump to 3D can be pretty worrisome, but I'm confidante Nintendo and WayForward can make it look great.

Hey, everyone. On the subject of 3D models..........

I know you all have told me this, so I'll just say it now: The model could use a bit more "curviness", but otherwise, I would want this as her appearance in 3D in general, not just in Smash.

Part of the reason I have my fingers crossed for Artsy Omni doing a Smashified of Shantae is so we'd see how she would look in 3D. Not that those other 3D models aren't good, but getting one in Smash 4 art style would be a lot better for promoting.

By the way now theres speculation she will be revealed next with lucas (if confirmed anyway.) according to the news on google

I'm oddly upset that none of those are the purple bird from DKC3. Screech, I think his name was. The purple squax that couldn't barf coconuts.
Actually, it's Quawks. Squawks without the S. And he actually appears in DKC2 Diddy's Kong Quest first. xD

Screech was the name of K. Rool's bird you race on the Flying Kroc.
But that bird existed in DKC2 as a parachute in the honeycomb levels only. He was a pain in the ass in DKC3 because you played with him as basically a dumb Squawks because you couldn't attack =/

Oh. I remember it now. But Screech did appear in DKC2, that race happened in the last of the Bramble Blast levels, as I should remember completely how BS that was the first time I played DKC2 on the GBA....ugh...I hate that race soooo damn much...

Ugh, not again. I'd rant about why it's bad to jump to conclusions, but the comments on the article seem to have done that already.

Though on the bright side, all of the hate seems to be directed at the poster rather than at Shantae. It's somewhat amusing to see the supporter not doing the research rather than the naysayer for once.

Can we just make a rule for no explicitly eye-candy pictures of Shantae and people's.... "interpretations" of her?

...Even if it is namely one person doing it

Yes. As discussed, Though Shantae is pretty, we don't need this in the support thread.. lol

We already get enough "Shantae is too sexy" detractions as it is.. (even though they are idiotic) All this fanart doesn't help XD

I'm not normally one to nag, but @ Raheem The Dream Raheem The Dream , these people are right. Intentionally suggestive pictures like that fan flames in the wrong parts of the fandom.

I'm not telling you to stop posting art or videos, but please keep it tasteful and clean.
