Hey everyone, I've been a Shantae Thread lurker for months now and now that we're on the final weeks of the Ballot I finally dug out my old Smashboards account (that I made and never used) to say I'm also a Shantae supporter :D The day the Ballot got announced, I immediately rushed to the Website to vote for her - let's hope she makes it into Smash! :D
The physical release for Pirate's Curse is awesome - the TGS appearence should give her some exposure. Shame that the game gets released after the Ballot ends, though, it could've boosted her Ballot votes quite a bit. I also hope we will get the physical copy too, I'd love to put a copy on my shelf too.

I really really hope she gets in. For one because she would be amazing ,two the popular characters in the ballot are all eh to me(curse my taste in characters for this I hate myself lol) and three just so all the people saying she has no chance and such can get filled with salt that is so legendary that it will be remembered forever lol.

Probably they did that to prevent them from influencing the Ballot. Oh well we have a few weeks left.

I think it might be too little too late I'm afraid for the Ballot.

Nintendo, Wayforward, and Intergrow were clearly involved, as it is getting a release on the 3DS and Wii U.
It could mean something, who knows.
(Imagine the salt if Shantae lost the ballot but still got in because Sakurai was in a good mood)

As long as ballot favorites still get in and Shantae is extra, I'd be all for it.
It would feel nice to be on the -other- side of the salt throwing for once, in terms of Smash characters (Ridley and King K. Rool supporter here).

Well, the athletic aspect is at least explainable.. Due to her heavy training from the Chozo as a child, she is VERY agile. Her stamina is much greater than an average human. For example, as mentioned in the dialog exchange between Snake and the Colonel, even if Snake were to take off all of his heavy gear and weapons, he still wouldn't be able to keep up with her.
On another note.. that still makes me wonder how the Morph ball works. Is she just ridiculously flexable, or is it through some technology? (As mentioned in Prime, the space pirates had pretty much no luck replicating it.. The only thing they got from their prototype morph ball technology was broken bones and spinal damage.. lol.
Just to clarify, Shovel Knight, at the time, and technically even now, isn't a finished game. Part of the reason why it has never seen a sequel yet, and probably why it hasn't seen a Japanese release yet, is because the devs hadn't gotten all of the content they wanted in the game yet..
Shovel Knight has been scheduled for getting free DLC updates, putting in new content, if I recall..
(The one the fans have been waiting for recently especially, is the Plague of Shadows update... which, ironically comes out today XD)
So, it's not because they are taking a long time. They are probably waiting on getting other aspects finished in the main release first before throwing a port to Japan.

Personally, Shantae, Commander Video, and Quote have the highest chances, if we're keeping Japan in mind. Bit. Trip has been released in Japan, Cave Story was born in Japan, and Shantae...
Along with Wayforward's affiliation with Inti Creates, Ken and Ko's fanart, and Intergrow releasing some of Wayforward's games in Japan, You can't sit and tell me that Shantae won't appeal to a large amount of the Japanese gaming audience, especially the "otaku" crowd.
