I'm sure everyone is well-versed on the multiple ways to perform the "Gentleman." For the newer players who aren't well-knowledgeable on what the gentleman is - essentially, it is a method with which you can command captain falcon to perform a triple jab in succession without going into the typically subsequent "rapid fire" jab attack animation.

Currently, here are the traditional methods to utilized to perform the gentleman:

A-A-A (must be performed with impeccable timing)

A-A-Z

A-A-(A+Z)

or

A-A-(crouch cancel - A)

I certainly can't speak for anyone else here, but personally, I've always had some trouble performing the gentleman consistently with the "traditional" methods.

To rectify this problem, I've come up with what I believe to be an innovative and efficient method to perform the gentleman:

A-A-(hold forward + A)

I think that the "gentleGabe," as I call it, can be performed with much higher success rate than the older, more traditional methods.

I'd like to apologize in advance if this technique has already been discovered, but personally I have not seen it being discussed on the falcon forums so I figured Id give it a shot. Enjoy.

I'm definitely trying this. So basically, the third hit (knee) just has to be interrupted by something else. SS gentleman is interrupted by the light shield and pretty much everything else is interrupted by a jump, dash or in this case, a crouch. I'm gonna go check today if it can be canceled by a B attack. Maybe it can lead to a gentleman -> raptor boost combo.

It's probably best to learn multiple ways for multiple follow up options.. Light shield is good if you want to jump out of it and hold A is good if you want to dash out of it (more likely). You should probably also learn to do the rapid punches on purpose if they have a huge shield.

The limitations of those methods is exactly why I would never use them.

There are other methods which are equally effective and don't require you to hold a button/direction or shield afterward, which allows you to follow up however you please.

Sometimes the pause gets you shield grabbed :dizzy:.

Yeah it stinks how the different ways of performing The Gentleman all have their drawbacks. However, like Jammin said, I feel it's good to implement all of them accordingly.

You don't have to pause or shield or... anything for the AAZ method, which is why it's the one I use.

This is why i was going for the one that is most comfortable with you.
Everyone has there own likes about which one. The one you feel most comfortable with is the one you should use. I think mine happens to be that way.
