Someone on Reddit pointed out something interesting.

In this picture, it looks like Bayonetta is located underneath Pyrosphere. Does this mean she has a wall cling/wall jump?

I still have to remind myself regularly that this happened. Why can't it be February already?

I'm still not convinced this isn't all just some dream I haven't woken up from.

Seeing her name pop up is still surreal to me.

It's still so hard to believe this is a real thing. Sakurai was right when he said that Bayonetta is another "dream-come-true" kind of character.

As a megasupporter since before DLC was even announced...I would have never thought the dream will become reality one day.

For some reason, during the presentation when I saw her splash screen my heart dropped to the deepest of depths and my screaming abruptly..er.. paused for a moment. XD.

Inb4 Bae gets to fight with Lara Croft in Smash 5! You heard it first here folks!! :D

So I decided to play the original Bayonetta once I found out she was confirmed; and oh my god. I love her as a character, but this has to be one of the hardest games I've played.

That being said, I voted for her to be in and cannot wait for February so I can start using her .

Yh the first game is really hard. Bayonetta 2s equivalent of normal is closer to easy difficulty in B1 lol.

You're gonna love it even more tho!

Could Bayonetta be to sexualized for smash? I was taken aback when I learned that she was going to be included in the roster. For starters, Bayonetta is from an M-rated game, whereas Smash brothers is a G-rated game. Additionally, she has... er... large lady bits that are empasized by her dress, which might not be appropriate for Smash.

If she's too sexualized the game wouldn't keep the same rating, not to mention they toned her down. Her legs don't show any skin anymore

OK sure she doesn't show any skin, but her outfit is still pretty skintight. I had the same complaint about ZSS to be honest, but I passed that off as a one-time mistake. I didn't think they would repeat it.

Mine only qualm with the first Bayonetta game was that there were way too many insta-death scenarios--like that one part where you're running along that stone snake bridge, then it suddenly explodes underneath you and that flying serpent angel eats you up. It's like, how the hell was I supposed to know that would happen? For something like that, I think they should have just taken a chunk of your health and put you back to where before the incident occurred, instead of killing you instantly. To me, that's like losing a fairy in Zelda: Ocarina of Time just because you fell off the edge.

Other than that, though, I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Bayonetta is one of those very few games that is extremely difficult--but in a good way. In mine opinion, it actually helps you improve your attention skills--both in real life and in video games. It doesn't matter how skilled you are; if you don't see the attack coming, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

[EDIT] Annnnd here we go again with the sexualised argument. Funny how people complain about Bayonetta and ZSS's bikini, yet not a word is spoken about Shulk's spandex shorts. When will people get over this tomfoolery? It really could have been worse.

If it's done intentionally I doubt it's a mistake. Not to mention, if she's too sexualized, she wouldn't be in Smash in the first place. Shulk has an outfit of him in his underwear

She also shows way less skin when using Wicked Weaves.

A man showing some extra skin doesn't have the same connotations as a woman who wears a skin-tight outfit. I don't agree with that double standard, but I don't make the rules. When parents see their kids (Many of whom are as young as 9 years old) play Bayonetta in Smash, they might think that that's an M-rated game, due to Bayonetta (and Samus') immodest outfit, and confiscate the game form them, or worse. Punish their kids for Nintendos mistake.

If they are only 9 then they shouldn't be playaing an E10 game, not to mention nobody gives a **** about age rating considering how popular COD is among children. Children won't get punished for something they didn't do, not to mention a child would most go 'mummy, can I buy this thing?' so the parent ultimately makes the final decision. And you're a HUGE strawman if you think 1 DLC character will make parents oblivious to the game's age rating, as it's on the ****ing box

Total Vista Total Vista Honestly, if you are worried for little kids, then you should maybe look at Gomorrah, and not Bayonetta's chest.
I mean, that demon is scary, not to mention it's scream!

But about being sexualized or not, I think she is fine, as someone who thought a lot about he sexualization, ESRB ratings and all before her confirmation. They really toned her down a lot. And yet they managed to respect her. That's Sakurai magic for you!

Characters such as Bayonetta, Zero Suit Samus and Shulk does have skin tight suits, or showing skin, but they are still fighters. We are not in a Dead or Alive volleyball situation.

And we are talking about Shulk, but what about Captain Falcon? He there's an embodiment of manliness, it's probably him, and he is fine as well.

Also, what kind of parents don't take time to look at what they are buying to their young childrens?

The second game is much easier, or at least less frustrating - there are no instant-death quicktime events, no escort missions, and no penalty for using items.

Oh my God, can we not do this?

I was hoping that we could avoid all that 'omg she is teh sexies does not compute think of teh children" nonsense, but it seems even smash bros isnt safe from it.

Wow, I surprisingly had an easier time with Alraune on Infinite Climax than I did on 3rd. Gold rank!

Now to fight the Lumen Sage ohohoho time to die.

Wolfie557 Wolfie557 that's good! I thought I would take on Normal since I figured it would be doable for a novice. That is until I got to Fortitudo and died three times the first fight and two times the second fight x_x.

Megadoomer Megadoomer I'm only on the sixth chapter so I haven't encountered escort missions yet. Hopefully they won't be that bad since I'm not particularly fond of those.

I agree about paying attention to detail. I'm steadily getting better with activating Witch Time without spamming the dodge button.

Sup Bayonetta people.

I'll be honest, I wasn't happy about Bayo's reveal. (Mostly because a friend of mine was an ass about getting his voted character in the game.) But, I saw saw a cheap copy of Bayonetta and thought, why the heck not? Picked it up and played it for a few hours today. Pretty wacky game. More or less Devil May Cry with a better protagonist. I've warmed up her being in Smash I think.

I can also see the care Sakurai put into the character. She's so true to the games it's crazy. Doubt I will main her, but if she plays like she does in the game, I'll try her out. Hopefully Witch Time isn't broken.

In the first Bayonetta, mine favourite weapons were the default guns (Scarborough Fair), and the nunchucks. Didn't like most of the other weapons, since they were either slow or too up-close-and-personal for mine taste. I always trade power for speed. I can't help it.

In Bayonetta 2, aside from the default guns (Love is Blue), mine favourite weapon was definitely the bow-and-arrow (Kafka, I think it was called), which I often paired with the double blades. What I often did was repeatedly feather mine enemies with a bunch of poison arrows, and when they got too close for comfort, jumped into Witch Time and sliced them up. I know that sounds cheap, but...that's just how I do things. Plus, see signature, second quote. [EDIT] I also sometimes use Chernobog (the scythe), paired with Love is Blue.

I just beat
Rodin
in Bayonetta 2 (not sure if I need to spoiler-tag the bonus boss, but I figure I should just in case). That was easily one of the toughest boss fights I've done in a game, but surprisingly fair. By the end, I had one health left and my hands hurt, but it was very satisfying, and now I just need to beat the game on Infinite Climax to be 100% done Bayonetta 2!

I'd say that I'm glad that I don't have to do that again, but I'd also like to beat Bayonetta 1 100%, and I haven't fought the bonus boss in that game yet...

The whole "Bayonetta is too sexualized for Smash!" argument is completely baseless.

First of all, ZSS is wearing essentially the same outfit and no one is crying for her to be removed.

Secondly, she's a DLC character. If you think her outfit is corrupting the world's youth or whatever other nonsense, then maybe don't buy her??? It's that simple.

Third of all, it's her body and there's nothing inherently sexual about it. With the whole body acceptance movement gaining popularity, and with that the de-sexualization of the female body, this should be something that we are all familiar with. Nobody would have a problem with a man wearing a skin-tight outfit (point-in-case: nobody is protesting Captain Falcon's inclusion).

smh people are so frustrating

In Bayo 2 I'm a fan of both LiB and SF, as well as Rakshasa or Chernobog paired with Alruna on the feet. I didn't use Kafka at all during my first play through and I never even got Takemikazuchi (The Hammer). I need to learn how to use them.

Default guns are always my jam. The bullet spamming everywhere in dodge rolls makes combos last forever and it feels gooooooood. In Bayo 1, gunchucks and rocket launchers on feet were my main setup with katana and durga on feet as secondary. Bayo 2, default guns + chain chomp of ****ing course.

We talking weapons in here? In Bayo 1, my go-to is (present tense because i'm still playing through it) Scarborough Fair, but I do enjoy the combo of Shuraba and Odette. In Bayo 2, my main weapons were always Rakshaka and Salamandra.

I feel a better way to support that is that zss and shulk has costumes where they wear LESS clothes than Bayonetta even when using wicked weaves in this game.

Only on the sixth chapter, my weapons of choice are Scarborough Fair and Shuraba. I tried using Durga because claw weapons are my favorite; but they were a little too slow for my taste.
