Even if it is not Sceptile, it would be truly depressing to me to have only one Pokemon newcomer this smash- we have gotten at least two in every smash game, obviously with four being the most, in the previous. That was a literal reality bursting dream.

Yeah, as much as I'm happy to see Charizard come back this time without the Trainer's limitations I would love to see one more Pokemon newcomer at the least. Plus, they could have been working on the Hoenn remakes at the same time as they were working on X/Y when they said that they finalized the Smash 4 roster. Sceptile still has as good a chance as any to get in.

I wouldn't say that for sure, since there's still a chance the leaked screenshot of All-Star Mode was taken at a different time than the CSS. What it does do is give us more of a reason to hope.

At this point, we could even hope for Mewtwo to get in...since if he does, Sceptile becomes the frontrunner for a DLC rep from Pokemon.

I honestly think if Sceptile were to be in this game, he would have been planned along side Charizard and Greninja from the get-go. I mean he could be DLC but I think putting Sceptile on disc and keeping Mewtwo for DLC would be a better business move.

Yupp this is pretty much where I stand. The Wii U version is planned for November correct? I think the airing of the Mega Sceptile anime is a great sign for this, because they will be happening right around the same time. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sceptile will be in the first DLC pack.

Generically thinking that "Holiday 2014" will be December Idk why. Sceptile would be perfect first Pack DLC to So you wanna be a Master?! Of Pokemon! but then again there's the business move to make Mewtwo DLC first pack along with others like IC's to fix technical issues that would normally have problems on the 3DS.

Sceptile still has a strong chance for DLC & half a chance on the roster imo.

Well, I doubt the anime has any real correlation to his chances in Smash 4 but it is awesome to hear that he will be the first in the anime. It is gonna be Ash's Sceptile, right?

At the very least, Sceptile is on the minds of the people writing the anime. The question is whether Sakurai is in the same boat.

I'd say more of a low chance for the initial roster, but mid-high for DLC and very high if Mewtwo makes it in quickly. The question is whether they'd want to add two new Pokemon characters--plausible if we're only getting 5 in the initial roster compared to 6 1/2 Mario characters.

I don't think Nintendo would've held back Mewtwo specifically to make money off him as DLC. They aren't the kind of company to do that, they haven't cut content to sell separately in any game yet, and Sakurai even said he wanted to focus on making SSB4 as complete as possible in the initial release before they started talking downloadable content.

I do agree that Sceptile would be a good pick for the first DLC pack, with ORAS making him relevant again and taking away his only real drawback.

Maybe yeah. Frenzy Plant shown in the manga & the anime show are very different. Frenzy plant doesn't seem to be that particular move MegaSceptile was using in the GIF. That'd be crazy if it turned out to be Frenzy Plant though slamming & firing a tree are very different actions / descriptions.

Not every pokemon apparently has a Shiny form palette, but assuming it'd be included:

• Default Green to originate himself & Emerald version plus the trainer named Emerald from the manga
• Shiny Form
• Wooden Gecko palette, because Teecko & Grovyle are the wood gecko pokemon
• Swampert-esque inspiring palette originating Sapphire version with his blades or his red band on his stomach & chin / mouth being a orange-like color for the extra color change
• Red and Yellow mixture for origination about Blaziken
• Dark-esque palette to show off a dark skinned palette because why not?
• Straight red color being mostly to originate the Ruby version of the Hoenn region, with his red band & red chin / mouth being green in the palette change.
• Any color you want here

I'm normally all for the inclusion of any character, but Sceptile and Bandana Dee are my exceptions. I won't go into why I don't want to see Bandana Dee.

I'm also not a hater of Sceptile, I just suspect Pokemon will only have one more rep, and I would much rather see Mewtwo over Sceptile.

But then you can say, why not just have both of them? Well my answer to that is that it is most likely that we will have 5 more slots available in the roster, and I would hate to see nearly half of them go towards Pokemon characters. I do think DK, Rhythm Heaven and Zelda need a new rep. But also it would be illogical to not include Ridley. So that only leaves 1 slot left.

Underlined response: Bummer, out of every character, your only 2 exceptions include Sceptile.

To be fair, isn't the "5 slot final 5" really just an arbitrary theory? We only say Final Five to fill in the roster's dimensions to be an exact rectangle of 9 x 6, when there could be no more newcomers or maybe there's to be more than 5. Or unless I missed something which I may have, it may actually be 5 remaining slots.

Anyways, we all know it, but I'll sound like a broken record & point out that Brawl was going to have Mewtwo & PraiMai who was allegedly supposed to be Plusle & Minum, that's uncertain however Mewtwo was supposed to be. I feel for you when you only expect 1 more Pokemon & that you'd prefer Mewtwo, most do.

To the comment of you hating that Pokemon hypothetically getting nearly half of the 5 slots, I say: I wouldn't hate over it, Pokemon's a huge franchise. It's justified if Pokemon got 7.

To the comments of characters' series such as Metroid, DK, LoZ, & RH needing a fighter to be an addition, I say: Understandable, DK Metroid & LoZ mainly because they're huge franchises to Nintendo & they deserve to have an All-Star newcomer arrive in the roster. Not so much RH because the franchise is smaller yet I feel it's enough to get notice.

I'd say it's official now with all the **** coming out today that it's time for everyone to start crossing their fingers for DLC. Pretty sure Sceptile is not in.

Ness, G&W, Falco, Duck Hunt Dog, Dark Pit, and Dr. Mario seem to have been confirmed. We're still waitng on Ridley and Mewtwo because it seems they are in as well. I don't think that leaves any room for Sceptile.

Though the screens I've seen could be fake, because someone already made a Shrek fake lol.

From what I heard, that leaked roster with Doc, Dark Pit, and the dog is the final roster... So, no Mewtwo, no Ridley, or Sceptile... We could have DLC, but this looks like this is it for Smash 4 until the next installment.

Well... It may not be the final roster... At least for now. I've heard word that a guy received word from a guy who told some of the true things that were said after the roster was leaked. Apparently, Mewtwo, Ridley, Dixie Kong, and one other that I can't remember who right now, was rumored to still be in the game via by linking together the 3DS and the Wii U. So, it sounds like four of them are on the Wii U version that might need you to connect to your 3DS so that you can have those four as well.

What this means for Sceptile? Well, nothing other than that if it is true, then he can be a fore-runner for possible DLC in the distant future of Smash 4.

This is where I found it. Again, I don't fully believe it but I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do something like this considering that you need both games of a Pokemon generation to have all of the possible Pokemon you can get like having both Pokemon Red and Blue to have all 150 for example.

For the final time, it may sound like I'm grasping at straws, but it could still be a very good thing for Sceptile if it is true and DLC is in the future.

You're right about it helping Sceptile, though. If Mewtwo got in that way, we'd be rid of our biggest competition for a Pokemon DLC character.

Depends on if the DLC is packs of fighters or solo ones. If it's packs then Mewtwo will help because they could do a "Pokemon Pack" or something.
