Yay, I'm happy about that.

But I'm thinking that we may only get two in fighters pass vol 2 that are only unlocked in the WOL by freeing 70 and 80 fighters, unless they have a new idea how to unlock DLC fighters in the WOL that were not in game and that were not spirits yet.

Welp, with the backlash of "another f****** sword character" and the fact that Sakurai is genuily aware of that (Sothis jokes about it in the trailer), I guess it's pretty safe to assume Sakurai won't do the mistake to announce another swordy for DLC 6, and wait a little for things to calm down a little.

But the thing I'm very concerned about, is Sakurai's quote about Twitter, saying he won't be able to satisfy the fan's recommandations...

I don't use Twitter... Do somebody here who follows actively Sakurais tweet's and comments know if Lloyd oftenly appears on these recommandations... ?

I wouldn’t read too much into it though, I’d say Lloyd’s chances haven’t really dwindled as he emphasized fun unique move sets are the quota and not if a character wields a sword or not.

I’m honestly just curious on what this big tales of news is that’s STILL yet to be revealed.

Good call I almost forgot about it, I’d say that if this new Batman game that’s being teased comes out and Scott still hasn’t spoken up about it, that’d increase Lloyd’s likely hood by a fair bit.

I am worried that with the inclusion of byleth, this mean we'll get another pokemon rep for sword and shield. I do however think now that we know sakurai doesn't give a crap about "Another anime swordsman" that doesn't need to be a problem for lloyd. It all comes down to bringing something new to the table and having a fun moveset, Which we know Lloyd can fulfill wonderfully.

I don't think that's an issue considering we already had a Sword and Shield Spirit Event. That pretty much kills our chances of getting a Sword and Shield rep.

With all these predictions going around, I think we likely are gonna see Llyod in the upcoming September Direct this year or possibly next year. All I hope for is that he still has a chance despite Byleth getting the pass. Eh, we got hero in the last pass, I should not worry so much.

New 25th Anniversary logo and new Tales series logo.

The latter we've seen before, via trademarks.

Bandai Namco might be doing something this year for the series (besides Tales of Arise, obviously).

Those new trademarks/icons have actually been made to bring more clarity for the Tales games classifications.

Bandai Namco find that this "mothership title / escort game/ mobile" was too confusing.
So from now on there will be only two classifications : Original Games, and Crossover games.

I first jumped off my chair when I read the "Crossover" classification, but again... it only depicted Tales of games, not crossover with other companies. Tales of has this habit to develop lots of tales games where the characters from different titles meet each other, like the Radiant Mythologies and some mobile games. Hence, this new classification.

It doesn't hurt Lloyd's chances whatsoever. But this big theory about the Smash Bros x Tales of Series and these logos is now debunked.

Anyway, Bandai Namco seem to really think about their new marketing strategy to bring more attention on Tales of, and are up to something with its 25th anniversary. Can we expect a partnership with Smash Bros ?

Admittedly it’s true, we could possibly be jumping the gun, but until he officially states what the voice work was for there’s no sure way of knowing.

Don’t get me wrong! I fully expect Lloyd to be in FP2 (I even see him being the first revealed) *and* I’d love it way more if Menville came back for it, but I don’t think that’s going to be the way it plays out. Plus it’d be a huge slap in the face to Beacock who had been voicing him ever since.

Agreed. Although it does hurt we no longer have the trademark thing in our corner, all that means to us is Lloyd is back to where he was three months ago, no real evidence in his corner, except all the missing Bandai Namco costumes. Although I would argue that that is a good enough piece of evidence to hold on to hope. As for his other rival for the spot, Heihachi, he is in a similar situation. Literally nothing points towards Heihachi being added as well, other than the missing mii costumes. And maybe I'm a bit pessimistic today, but they could always randomly add both costumes randomly in the next batch, who knows. Either way, I really do think some Bandai Namco character is coming in the next 6 FP, whether that be Lloyd, Heihachi, a dark soul rep, or even a dark horse rep like Soul Caliber. Though the characters Bandai have don't strike me as a Fighter Pass starter, so I'm going to predict whoever got picked is going to be in the middle (7,8 or 9).

It might also be worth noting that Like a Glint of Light is the late game equivalent of an earlier battle theme, "Full Force", which has slightly more relevance to Lloyd for reasons that I won't spoil.

Though, by all means, stick with the one that has the official go-ahead from Sakurai if you think that that's best.

I’d imagine a meter similar to hero that uses ep when an arte (special move) is performed with the ability to chain certain artes into one another. Meter could be gained by using basic attacks and whatnot, so I guess think hero but instead of standing still to use spells, using specials to chain combos with an emphasis on quick precision and swordplay (kinda like Bayonetta?)

Dual-wielding with real swords on its own is already a new thing, though I'm not sure how that would translate to a new gameplay mechanic is it probably wouldn't be much different from Pit's dual-wielding.

Overlimit could certainly be a thing, especially since it doesn't just represent Lloyd but the franchise in general. Could be a meter.

Somehow, both Fighters Passes seem to have the word "volume", just like how Tales of Fandom has the word "volume" and they even share Tales of devs with smash bros ultimate, but this may not mean that a Tales of rep would be part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2.
