However, according to my laptop I cannot optimize my SD Card. I've scoured the internet, but I can't find any answer. Is there anything I can do or should I just switch SD cards?

Also I'm a stander 2G Sandisc if it helps.

Just delete and replace. It worked when it happened to me. Moral of the story: always delete, never replace.
