Or god forbid they like the game better. The thing is with Brawl, if someone says they like the game better they are full of **** because everyone knows that game sucks a ****.

...I hope you guys know that part of the reason BB was made was to attract a new wave of consumers via accessibility. BB is, in every way, loads easier for new players to get into due to a smaller cast to learn matchups for, a more simplified system with no more frame-specific cancels and barrier management being carried by a separate bar, added gloss and enhanced graphics, and slower game play. companies know that the above listed things are a big part of what sells a game now. people like ease and being able to accomplish a lot without putting in much effort. this has been the trend for ALL new fighting games that have come out in the last 1-2 years, and there is no denying that. that's a huge reason people flocked to BlazBlue and SF4 in the first place. not to say that's necessarily a bad thing, but you guys are delusional if you think BB is as hard to learn as GGXX, or that a lot of people are not sticking to BB due to its ease to pick up. a testament to that is that a good portion of BB's community did not competitively play GGXX. the ease of play and learning tactics is a reason Smash is so popular, as well. i'm not really that upset that people play BB, as i can see why people play it, but i think GGXX is vastly superior, and of course, i would like to see people play a vastly superior game.

and, Jam Stunna, i do not main Baiken, but I do main Anji, the person that likes Baiken a whole lot, if that means anything, lol. we might need to get that blood test anyway. i am also competent with Jam and Sol.

also, I agree that I-No is a cool character and is fun to play. her advanced stuff is so complicated, though. other characters can do what she does or more for WAY less effort. sad, really... :(

@ GA Peach- This is getting scary, lol.

When I started GG, I mained I-No, but she was way too hard. So I switched to Baiken and started camping hardcore.

And I agree that BB is much easier than GG. The lack of FRC alone makes that apparent. As was said before, that's not a pejorative statement, just a fact.

I use Robo-ky and Millia.

But I'm still a scrub.

and I can't even find the right version. Guilty Gear XX #Reload is the right one, right?

I meant to add that I also think that slowing down BB had as much to do with optimizing it for online play as it does with making it easier. That's one of the reasons I'm actually kind of hoping that a new GG is offline only.

Hell yeah offline only? That'll surely help the already fleeting GG community to grow.

DC- lol, the only one that ever gets butthurt in the thread is you. whether it's someone proving you wrong, saying something you don't like about BB or Noel, or talks about anything that isn't BB or Noel. i was just stating some facts, so it's whatever...

Jam-well, in an ideal world, we could have an offline GGXX, but i doubt it'll happen. online play sells, which is a mystery to me for fighting games. people are thrilled that they don't have to leave their house to play people, despite input lag and what not. but, after all, casual players aren't too concerned about that and they are the majority. a company selling a product will always go for quantity of a community over anything else to maximize profits. it only makes sense.

When someone says something about Noel and I say something like I'm gonna stab you in the face I'm just joking fool. I didn't realize anyone was quite dumb enough to not catch the obvious sarcasm.

But when I say stfu about SF I'm being serious.

****ing Brawl is better than SF.

****ing Million Knights Vermillion is better than SF.

Million god**** Knights Vermillion.

Who's buying Guilty Gear in the first place? It's not the casuals, and online play won't change that. I hope they keep that in mind.

really? because, i really thought you were going to try and stab someone or something similar for saying something about Noel... *sigh* obviously, i don't believe that. if you go back and read your past posts, you should realise that you really don't have a right to even DREAM of calling someone else 'dumb'. i should have known you'd try and go a route like that, though, as your track record in this thread speaks a deafening volume that basic concepts easily sail miles above your head. and, if you REALLY think those two games are better fighting games than any form of SF, then your ignorance and foolishness are beyond any help short of divine intervention.

well, it could go either way. Arksys could go for the mentality that they could sell as many copies as BB if they dumb it down in a similar fashion, and that GGXX fans are gonna buy it regardless due to being starved for a new GGXX. i REALLY hope that's not the case, but from a business perspective, it looks so good on paper. the casual gamer always greatly outnumbers the serious player in every game. so, i guess the best we can do is theorize about things they could do with the game and pray things go well, lol.

This is 100% accurate.
This is pretty the last post I posted, but in detail. ;o

In this industry today, most companies are definitely NOT doing well at all. There is constantly news of companies laying off lots of people, closing down, losing a ton of money, etc etc. The rate they are hiring new people is waaay lower than the rate at which people are still losing their jobs(Even EA is losing money). The industry is in pretty terrible condition right now. I know this for a fact because of my job hunting over the past few months. Only a handful of companies are actually growing.

So what does this all have to do with this discussion? Its simple. Developers are less likely to make "risky" games. Games that will potentially not do so well. Which leads directly into the reason why the trend has been to make games easier to play over the last couple of years. Casual gamers make up pretty much 99% of the market. You must appeal to these gamers since they like quick thrills and feel like they got something done with not so much time invested.

If you honestly disagree that BlazBlue is significantly easier to play and learn than Guilty Gear then you are a dumb.
If you honestly disagree that Street Fighter 4 is significantly easier to play than third strike, then you are a ******.
If you a honestly disagree that brawl was made for non-competitive play and FOR casual gamers to allow them to succeed with minimum effort(pretty much holding their hands while playing), then are sir are a dumb ******.

I don't know if I agree that SF 4 is significantly easier than 3S. True, focus attacks are easy mode for parrying, but there are some offense benefits to FA instead of parrying. And parrying wasn't really that hard in 3S.

Agreed on all other points though.

Somehow I don't see Arksys selling out GG like that. I don't really have anything to back that up, just a feeling. Doesn't seem like their style, especially since they have BB which is cornering the more casual market already.

I mean you're absolutely right from a business perspective it would make more sense to go after the casual gamer, but wasn't GG made with the sole purpose of being the fighter's fighter?

idk, it just feels like they made BB so that they wouldn't have to make GG casual.

I could be completely wrong though :O

I hope so too, I would really like to be able to play a true GG one day :( I love watching people play but since I have no ps2 or copy or friends with a copy of the game I am kind of SOL

Also hey guys can we try not alienating one another all the time? lol it gets in the way of productive happy nerd discussion :) Just in case though here is an adorable picture of bulbasaur that will completely nullify any desire to instigate or further conflict in this thread. sweeeeeeet

GG is way too fun. And also, don't let one's negative opinions sway you. If DC hates SF. Oh well, there are hundreds that still play it. ;O

I don't really know how well a new GG would do. If they really did the cross-over, it would be too weird seeing as both games play differently. >;

i hope to God you're right, i was just expressing what i think a company would do logically.

i apologize. i just REALLY don't like DC very much, but i will try(try being key here, but i will make an honest effort) to keep my feelings from starting any more arguments, regardless of what may come out of his mouth/keyboard.

@Kishiru - well, my opinion of the game wasn't swayed by DC's opinion, i just think that his is a very ill-informed one, like i do with most of the things he says. but, as far as the crossover goes, i don't think that will happen. it'll go the route that the other crossover, Sammy vs Capcom, went, which is nowhere, sadly... :(

lol can I sweeten the deal with

A BEAR CUB BEING JUMPING AT THE SIGHT OF A LION CUB? :O

by my calculations it should be literally impossible to create or engage in any altercation in the BB thread now

maybe even in the entire atlantic south

Oh and back to Arksys, they seem more like a group of individuals than a corporation, if that makes sense. People who are more focused on the product than the profit.

I mean there are easier ways to make a successful fighter that don't include creating and balancing a ton of characters and innovative game mechanics and interesting character designs and stuff.

Plus in their interviews they just seem more like...normal people rather than businessmen who make corporate statements and stuff. They seem like a group of dudes who just do what they do because they love it.

then again it only takes one boring ceo/hq to drive a great company into the mundane I AM LOOKING AT YOU [large gaming corporation]

I make myself look less intelligent every time I post
essentially. every post you make shows you need to be dragged into the street and executed just to spare society from the risk of maybe having to talk to you. in closing, you seem completely incapable of intelligent conversation, so i will bestow an honor upon you that only one other person, a guy named SaeQuo010, has ever earned.
