It seems Tieps knowledge of smash is more then Eric's. Eric is good because falco just ***** everybody lol >.>

As for myself I'm not a smart player but i'm not a not smart player... LoL
I know a lot of physics behind the game like frames of attacks and how the color of peach does not affect her turnip outcomes and how to do a proper "japanese wall tech?" and stuff like that but I can't just **** people like Eric does.

No, ryan is just listing people that are the top 10 contenders.

My analysis is that you Richmond people have been playing the same characters all along agasint the same people, you can practcally predict what the other is going to do. In my opinion, that's how John got his training to beat my Falco, by playing Eric's Falco. I remember one time, John only told me that he was using peach for 2 days, and he beat my Falco becasue he knew exactly was I was doing. Also, Peach > Falco in terms of CC, so i'm not really complaining. Which leads to this point : You good people haven't played anyone new lately, so you're really underestimating the new people around here. Hershel, uses Ice Climbers- A character that you guys never played before in your entire life, is uderextinmating............. >_>

Nick peach doesnt really counter falco.
Its more like Falco >= Peach.

Those lazer are extremely extremely annoying to get past when your peach. She has like almost no grab range and her only approaching move is her floating which is almost predictable.

yeahh, Peach doesn't counter Falco. I'm glad you didn't continue this top 10 nonsense John. It's obviously an arguement that would get nowhere. Mini-tourney, and have it done with! Nick, if you're willing to host then it might be good to have at your place since I'm sure that a lot of people don't want to go too far, and you usually have 3 tvs at your house. TEAR won't be in that deciding tourney, just because double elim is only (1) Very accurate for 1st/2nd, (2) quite accurate for 3rd/4th. So TEAR might mess up how things go down. However, T still wants to play in another mini-tourney!

laser>laser>laser>dair I think that's to predictable.

All you do is time the D-SMASH when his about to dair you, I think it has more priority, correct me if im wrong.

Also the last SHL stuns you for to long that you wont have enough time to start a Dsmash.

Well theres not much approach available for peach against a falco. Just gotta try and not give falco a lot of room to spam those lasers. Powershielding is useful to get the falco annoyed and just charge you recklessly.

But theres already tonnes of topics about Peach vs Falco so should just read those.

Also I just found out I might not be able to go to 0C2 even if I had the money. One of my friends that I've known since I was like 7 and haven't seen for like 5 years is going to be coming to Vancouver during the summer and he will be staying with me. So if he happens to not come then I can go to 0C2... Or unless he leaves early.

If he does come to visit then I hope you guys don't mind me bringing someone for some STD's that we might do. He won't be an entire noob at this game. I've been showing him some vids like the crew battles and stuff.

SMASHFEST AT MY HOUSE TOMMORROW (MONDAY) THE APARTMENT!!! Smashing will START at NOON and end whenever. IF some of you scrubs can't wait to duke it out for 5th-10th or whatever then TOMMORROW is your day to prove it. Eric and myself will both be there and I will take the time to organize a mini tourney that Tiep, Ryan, Eric, and myself are NOT allowed to enter. So come by my apartment tommorrow and buzz the number 932 at the bottom and head to the 5th floor, take a left once u get off the elevator and it's door #502 which will be the 2nd last one on your right, b4 the 'EXIT'.

PS: Don't take offense if I call any of you scrubs, I'm barely better then a scrub myself, scrub is a step up from nub .

Yes Manuel Peach can chain throw space animals but its very difficult getting them in a grab in the first place. To many shines to acually get a grab in with her range.
Also Adam... Was the bus you take home the 407 all the way to richmond center?? Would that happen to be the one under the knight bridge?

lol I have calculus exam on Tuesday and I haven't quite started studying yet... a little too much Maple Story and Tales of Legendia (I started going gaming crazy after school ended). I talk to Azen in MS actually... maybe I should get some tips off him because I sort of... suck? Glad to see I'm still loved though. 8th place or something? And no one even sees me play?

Anyhow, hope I make it to next smashfest. But since I never do, I hope I make it to one of the next fifty. If I don't then I'll buy each one of you a copy of Smash 3 or something.

Wow that was a pretty good discussion on Peach vs. Falco. This was a huge discussion before, it was mostly the space animals vs Peach. I think people were saying pretty much went on here, chain grabs > space animals, shine and aerials > Peach, it all depends on the player. CCing Peach vs noob Falco = win for CC Peach. But later on it gets to a point where the Falco gets much better and beats the CC, but then the Peach can keep it close with some strong ground moves. Falco can take it up another level though I think with mind games. Falco is faster, shine priority, but just has to be careful to DI correctly... This is just a long rant! Summary... I think Falco is better than Peach, but very very slightly. This is just character stuff though, the players are what make the difference.

I agree on Troy. It all depends on the player, I guess, on what he does, what he doesn't do, etc.
I just have to keep an eye on the sidestep --> CC D+Smash often. and recovering. Its the recovery that hurts FALCO A LOT agaisnt a Peach. Once peach his him again after he uses up his 2nd jump, its over for Falco. I'll have to analyse this later on. That means more Peach games agaisnt John, then.

Another discussion topic: Falco vs Fox

Alright some may disagree with me on this but I would say Fox has a bigger advantage against Falco on FD for several reasons.

Fox can chain throw falco to really high percent and end it with an upsmash with no worries of falco landing on a platform.
Falco becomes a lot more predictable on a flat surface. i.e. he will spam lots of lasers and shffl a dair or another aerial. Fox can easily dodge these with just jumping and constantly moving.
Fox can get Falco while he is recovering because theres no platform for Falco to land on when recovering. As theres no platform it becomes a lot more predictable of where he will be coming back and landing which can end with a devistating up smash or shine.

Falco has a slight advantage on stages with platform besides yoshistory.
He has a lot more room to do combo's from the bottom of the stage and shine and land on next platform to do some other attack.
Fox's recovery goes pretty far and his illusion can easily be out prioritiezed by Falco's attack if it wasn't sweet spotted. It is also hard to dodge the spike when doing a Firefox if it wasn't at a perfect angle because you may overshoot the ledge.

That's news to me, although I admit I haven't been keeping up on character matchups as much as I should. So... think you can give it a whirl on my Falco tomorrow? I'd love to see Fox chainthrow Falco to a high enough percent that an up-smash on FD would finish him off.

WOW, I just made this HUGE ****ING post about a players experience in that particular matchup being WAY more important then anything u guys were talking about and it ****en FROZE when I clicked on "Submit Reply"

Anyways, what I was basically saying was it all depends on the gameplay experience a falco/fox player has in this matchup. Who they've played, assuming their CLOSE in skill level would determine it because if they've played more and BETTER people then they know what to do/what to avoid doing in the match.

Fox owns on the return IF he rly good with shine
Falco owns on the return IF he rly good with Dair spikes in a variety of ways and Fox is stupid on return. It's all things you've learned in other matches from everyone you've played who was around ur skill lvl or better.

lol Adam. char matchups are to be discussed assuming both chars can pull off all of their technical moves. IE. Assume Fox can shine Falco on an up+b return every single time. Putting in the human element changes things up TOO much and you get all the "what-if" cases. Just assume they can do anything within the limits of the game before you answer the question of "Who's better".

LoL Roby looks like you rather learn SSBM by gaining lots and lots of experience of playing it.
I like to do both. Read up on matchups and things then after that try and put some stuff into my gameplay.

Yes it gets annoying when it freezes when you have a big post. Thats why I always copy my long post incase it freezes!


Also just read tieps post again. Didn't literally mean finish Falco with that upsmash but it would be enough to take him to around 90%+

Heh. Maple Story... I got pissed off when they closed down Beta. I was LV73. Azen was LV90 or so, Mild and a friend of ours, Space, were LV93ish. I got to 40 in Scania and quit. Azen and Mild went back a few months ago. Those two are freakin' whores when it comes to levelling. Neither of them have been on AIM since they started MS, except once when Mild tried to convince me to play again... What level are they now anyway? I'd imagine 110+ I remember once when Azen levelled a lit mage from 1 - 50 in a **** week.
