I remember when I thought the same way. But my first tournament experience last february at Roby's house, which I got ***** quickly, changed around my opinion regarding the usefulness of advanced techniques.

RULE REVISION!!!

I don't see why this can't be a public affair. Give your input less you get shafted via BC rules.

B.C. Gameplay Rules:

Singles: Format to be determined at the tournament. Usually just double elimination but once in a while we do pools for seeding and top x players advance to a double elimination bracket.

Lives: 4 stock per match
Time Limit: 8:00 minutes. Player with higher stock at the end of the match wins. If the stocks are tied, the player with the LOWER % wins. If exact stock-% draw at the end of match, another 1 stock, 1 minute match is played to determine winner.
Items: Off
Matches Per Set: Best 2 out of 3. Winners’ finals, Losers’ finals, and Grand Finals played best 3 out of 5.
Set Style: Advanced slobs. First match is random stage. The loser chooses the stage for the following match. The winner then chooses his character for said match. Following this, the loser gets to counterpick their character, and the match is played.
Blind Picks: If players cannot agree on a match-up to play their first match, a 3rd party may be called in. Both players secretly tell the 3rd party which character they will use, and they are forced to use that character. This allows for no possibility for character counter-picks on the first match.
Stage deletion: If both players agree, each may ban 1 stage for the whole set. This stage CAN be played on if both players agree.
Dave’s Stupid Rule: While counter-picking a stage, a player may not select the stage on which he last won.
Random Stages: Yoshi’s Story, Fountain of Dreams, Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, Final Destination, and Dreamland.
Banned Stages: Icicle Mountain, Kongo Jungle, Great Bay, Flat Zone, Hyrule Temple, Yoshi's Island, Venom, Onett, Mushroom Kingdom, Brinstar Depths, Fourside, Big Blue, Mushroom Kingdom II, Yoshi's Island.
Banned stages can ONLY be played when both players agree.

I see no point in copying and pasting this for doubles format and then forgetting a few details and everyone being like OHHH THAT WASN'T IN THE RULES!!! I say we just not be stupid for doubles. I think the rules are all the same minus more stage bans - laggy stages are banned.

Stocks, Time, Items, Set Style, and a players ability to call blind picks are NON NEGOTIABLE. You don't have to re-post these when submitting your input, they are not changing.

If there was ever a time to get rid of a stage you hated or something though now is THE time to post it. Please post your reasons as well!! Nothing changes without good reasoning. If I made a dumb mistake in my post please let me know so I can correct it.

After a match ends in a tie, does the game automatically go to sudden death?

Everyone in B.C plays Fox, Onett would get so boring.

Yeah sorry about not hosting, If it was just a few people then sure, but you can't expect me to host telling me 1 day before.. besides it's x-mas weekend I got family.

i vote for Onett. there's no random elements or camping, and the cars add a level of suspense to it.

i dunno why it's even banned, i've seen lots of people playing it in tourney matches on Youtube. is it because the cars? if it is, my counterpoint for that is that there's cars on Mute City, and that stage is much more dynamic than Onett.

and Onett is anything but boring. car combos would be too good.

You can camp on Onett, and it can be quite effective. There are walk-off ledges on both sides, and it becomes a pain in the *** fighting right next to your iminent death. Walk-off ledges = ban

But this is just my opinion, and if others want the stage in, I'll be alright with that.

what? u mean the house? camping there is risky, since ur right by the edge. i dont think camping there would be effective, i need to see that.

lol onett is not that bad, then missle him, laser him back, out smart him, get him when he reacts from a car hitting his sheild and stunning it etc. onett is a little fox advantage, but besides brinstar, what stage isn't lol
