The Arena Challenge Series - Falchions vs. the World

[Locuan]

Welcome everyone to the Arena. This thread will serve as the tournament grounds between us the Marth and/or Lucina mains against the other characters across the Smash roster! Right now, it's still in its testing phases and rules can change. The most important factor however is to have fun!

The ruleset:

• Wii U online! 3DS to be considered.
  
• Point Based System. Explanation below!
• 2 stocks, 6 minutes (No items)
• Best of Three sets.
• Custom Move-set: If both parties agree on using customs; go for it!
• Marth/Lucina mains/players can only use Marth/Lucina. Challengers can only use the character from the character board they represent!
  
• In the case of a time-out the player with the least percentage wins. If both players lose their final stocks at the same time... PLAY THE SUDDEN DEATH D:

"Neutral" Stages:

• You are in our arena. Castle Siege is a neutral?!
• Battlefield
• Final Destination
• Smashville

Counter-pick Stages:

• Omega Stages
• Town and City
• Delfino
• Nope, not Halberd. Ok fine. Halberd.
  
• Lylat Cruise
• Duck Hunt
• Congo Jungle

Stage Striking:
If both parties agree on stage striking:

• For neutrals, 1-2-1. In other words, first one to strike bans one stage. Next player bans two, then the original player bans one final stage. The stage that remains will be the stage to play.
• For counter picks, winner bans two then the loser chooses from the remaining pool. If the set is 1-1, the player that is choosing a stage for the final match cannot pick a stage where he/she won in originally.
• If Final Destination is banned then Omega Stages are banned as a consequence as well.
• If both parties do not agree on stage striking then random pick from the lists above is what we will do!

The challenge cycle:
The Marth/Lucina mains/players will decide on which character board to challenge. After the decision has been made, we will formally announce it to those unfortunate enough to have to face our Falchion blades. Challenge cycles will end after the first faction receives 10 points. You can't face off against the same person twice in a challenge cycle! Also make sure to let others play and represent your character! You guys should be responsible for setting up the matches between yourselves, and remember have fun!

The point based system:
What this means is that no one is eliminated from the tournament! You will play your set against your opponent. If you win, it's +1 point for your faction. If you lose, no points will be added to your faction At the end of the challenge cycle, the faction with the most points win!

Tallying points:
Be pro-active! Keep count! While I will do my best to also keep count it would be a great help if you guys do so too. I want this to be a community effort

Rewards:
Marth/Lucina: The ability of letting everyone know we defeated X character boards and bask in the glory of our arena!
Challengers: The ability of letting everyone know that you defeated the Marth/Lucina mains in their home-turf!

Remember that the primary purpose of this is to learn to improve and have fun. Treat it more as an opportunity to learn the MUs you may be unfamiliar with xD Locuan is considering getting the 3DS version reps too, and I'll be fighting on either or system for this one. Besides the last 2 times I've heard the player was bad, they turned out to be pretty good.

Really guys, let your playing ability speak for itself; no need to down talk yourself like this xD

I too think that Zelda is the logical first choice; however, it also presents an interesting conundrum, as some of our players (and people stuck on the 3DS version that have shown interest) have split loyalties. I know if we were to challenge the ZSS or the Capt. Falcon boards, I'd have some pretty split loyalties as well.

So, now might be an interesting time to discuss some basic logistics. Is it possible for a member to play for both sides, as it were? Or do you have to pick a side at the beginning and not switch? I think we can trust the personal integrity of everyone here to play to their best ability, and only play as characters they feel comfortable with. What do you guys think?
