I'm going to hold another tourney at Perky's soon. It will either be on July 28 or Aug 4, whatever works best for people (meaning: people, tell me which day works better). Depending on people we will start off with teams and do singles after that. Normal rules (I don't feel like posting them all)(no screwed up FC version of the rules)(no wobbling). If you don't know what the normal rules are just ask and I have no problem clearing something up. And this is another subtle attempt to make MI just a little bit better at smash meaning whoever the **** can get to this better ******* do so. And we need more tv's this time.

Post on the Big MI Discussion Topic for discussion, etc. Here for events/smashfests and/or your location. A new thread if you've figured out your event's location/time/etc. Do NOT post the same thing in both here and the Big MI Discussion Topic.

it's not that big of a deal Ankokulage =x.
A lil redundancy won't kill MI, it'll work itself out eventually XD.

lain - I watched it a few times and I still don't understand how I survived that up smash in the first match of our set. Maybe some kind of "let go of your controller" DI or something.

wow dave. I'm surprised you got a smashboards account. I figured dan's constant playing in the school year was enough to make you sick of the game for atleast 2 years.

Thems fighting words Petre! Dont make me counter pick Ganon on your Jiggly, lol. I BARELY beat Sascratch, and it really sucked that we had to play each other so early in the tourny.

Although, you hella carried our 2v2 team as far as we went.

Hey buddy, I have NONE of me up.

Seriously though, I bet we would have broken that chair if we sat in it for another 10 hours or so.

Are you small children? There is no good reason for sitting in Lain's lap, Malice. If you want any close encounters of that kind, dont do it in our chairs, which are fragile enough as it is. When you have 4 broken chairs chilling in the back, I think you would be a bit more concerned about the fates of the remaining chairs.

Wieght wasnt the issue, it was the high center of gravity which would have put much more torque on the key part, a supporting bar between the two back legs.

:laugh: first of all children don't sit in each others laps. that rarely happens. second of all, don't try and feed your nonsensical statement to us to sound smart. torque implies it was an angled pressure to the chair WHILE with FORCE. i could go on but that's a good indication you don't know what you're talking about. weight, okay fine maybe we look like large men in your mind and i understand (sort of) why you'd want us off. but come on, torque? we're not stupid here. ;)

Hey now, let's stop all this. While I'd like this thread to stay active for people like PM to not ask for it when it already exists, I don't want it to be kept active by people arguing over whether a chair would break or not.

Speaking of PM, you still owe me a $5 MM. Are you going to this week's MGC?

The torque in question would be caused by horizontal motion of the person on top, amplified because of the higher center of gravity. The horizontal supporting bar has snapped because of lighter and shorter people than the both of you stacked on top of each other, jostling and carrying on on top of the chair. I'm no moron, and I said what I wanted to say.

Heres a diagram:

Thats what the supporting bar looks like. Its very close to the ground. Any horizontal motion by the person on top would cause greater angled pressure on both joints of the connecting bar than a single person would if it were just one guy sitting in the chair.

Suffice to say: Dont double up on our chairs! That goes for everyone! I dont care what reasons you have.

lets keep this thread alive with less chairs and more relevant discussion.

I wish I could make it out there to MGCT, but it's way too far away for me. If I had registered a week earlier, I could definitely have made the Canton one.

But, alas.

(I'd get wasted anyway)
