Best Character Update: Lucas' Special Moves (very detailed, and the essential deconfirmation of Ness increases Claus's chances exponentially)
Best Stage Update: New Pork City (wow...just wow)
Best Item Update: Dragoon (such a cool item, and it's neat to see how its KAR properties were implemented in Smash)
Best Game Mode Update: What is the Subspace Emissary? (purely new and exciting)
Best Music Update: Kirby: Meta Knight's Revenge (SUCH a tough decision! MGS4: Love Theme and WarioWare: Ashley's Theme were REALLY strong contenders)
Best How To Play Update: On-Screen Appearances (a purely aesthetic touch that I absolutely love; runner-up slots go to "Three Different Taunts" and "Battle for the Smash Ball")

Worst-of's:

Worst Character Update: Meta Knight's Special Moves (totally redundant)
Worst Stage Update: Melee Stages (as a fact, I'm glad; as an update, however, it only talked about one stage, whereas there should have been information about at least a few returning stages)
Worst Item Update: Banana Peel (...no comment)
Worst Game Mode Update: Handicap (useless to me)
Worst Music Update: Donkey Kong (...didn't sit well with me at ALL)
Worst How To Play Update: Charged Special Moves (it just didn't seem worthwhile)

Best Veteran: Peach (duhz)
Best Newcomer: Lucas (tough call between Lucas and Pit, but I ultimately just love the little guy)
Best Third-Party Character: Snake (I'm impartial, but I think Snake was the first real shock)
Worst Veteran: Donkey Kong (just not fond of him...kinda boring)
Worst Newcomer: Ike (again, Ike's just not my cup o' tea)
Best Assist Trophy: Little Mac (while initially upset, I'm just glad to see that my favorite little pugilist has made it into Brawl in some way or another; runner-up goes to Stafy for being so gosh-darned cute)
Best Pokéball: Returning Pokémon (the most informative of the updates)
Worst Assist Trophy: Excitebike (meh...doesn't do anything for me)
Worst Pokéball: Bonsly (I just don't like it, frankly)
Best Game Trailer (on the DOJO): Nintendo Conference Fall 2007 Movie (the most action, and the most characters)

Best Feature of the Subspace Emissary: Team (why let only one player have all the fun in this new mode?)

Best Boss Enemy: Shaydas (really creepy, and I'm pretty excited)
Character You Most Want to Play as in SSE: Pit (Peach was close, and I've only seen about 5 seconds of Lucas, so Pit wins by default)

Most "WTF" Update: Pokémon Trainer (Sakurai really threw us for a loop--in the best possible way!)
The Disappointment Day: New Launch and E for All (The Delay--'nuff said)
