Homosexuality doesn't help procreate the human race, but you haven't explained how it's wrong. I don't know how you can say it's not natural, people have been gay since civilization started, and probably before that. And it's documented. Besides, while you can claim it's not "natural" (though I might be wrong on this!) homosexuality is a naturally occurring thing in nature, and can come from overpopulation. Considering how much we're overpopulating the planet, homosexuality can actually be argued as helping the human race. It's estimated that 10% of American's are gay, which would mean that the worldwide number is around the same.

Wow, I never thought about it that way, especially the "helping the human race" part. I guess it's sad that, since gay people don't reproduce (usually), genes that increase your likelihood of being gay won't be transferred from generation to generation. The fact that there still is a lot of homosexuality shows that it's a an important part of our society and species.

And to whomever said that homosexuality isn't natural, by that logic **** is natural. Men more likely to **** women are more likely to have their genes passed down. They're procreating. But of course, **** is wrong, and is necessarily illegal.

I think what he means (and my mom thinks the same) is that homosexuality helps the human race by cutting down on the population, and helping it not to overpopulate. Now, of course, we're not sterile, and some of us have kids in straight marriages and other ways; but if we are honest with ourselves and have a same-sex-partner the only way to have a kid (not involving a volunteer woman) is adoption. And adoption does not increase the population. It helps kids, and gives them homes.

No, she wasn't at all. I talk about sexuality with her all the time because she has some very interesting views. Plus, we can both talk about girls.

I think most gay people aren't offended by being asked about their sexuality. They may get annoyed if it's all you talk about, but they seem to like explaining their feelings.

Eor pointed out a very good fact. When overpopulation occurs homosexuality often occurs. Thus lowering the rate of birth. And slowing down the population. Yes that is true. Also, homosexuality is often a matter of opinion of the person. Opinions are hard to change so just face it people will be who they will choose to be. I may be bi, but that doesn't degrade me in any way. I just choose to like people for whats on the inside not the outside.

Anyway, my reasoning for not caring about the phrase "that's gay" is simple. When people, myself included, use this word, they ARE NOT always meaning that something is homosexual. As you know, they are just using the word as a replacement for "lame", "stupid", or any other word like that. It is just slang, in this case. It is a way for us to use a word and give it a completely different meaning. There are a LOT of words out there just like this, none of which are wrong in whatever meaning. Why should "gay" being used as a slang word, which is truly all it is for BOTH meanings, be treated as some sort of huge controversial insult?

The typical argument I hear for why it shouldn't be used is that "it puts down homosexuals and offends them." All I say to that is that they need to learn to think for themselves. Yes, some might get offended by it, but.. if they really do, I'm gonna let them handle it. If someone were to ask me to truly stop because I was offending, I would stop.
