Wonder if anything is happening in October if only because I can see a Halloween themed direct
Oh no. Now Spooky Scary Skeletons is stuck in my head.

(A literal human skeleton confirmed for Smash, with a unique moveset and playstyle and S tier placement, breaks and divides the meta but returns the next game nevertheless.)

I appreciate your politeness. The thing with the reveals is it's not super surprising when she was shown right as the trailer opened; I watched a few YT reactions, and with the Direct coming to end, I don't get how people didn't know she was gonna be the next character, but it was fine way to tie an announcement and a kind of meh character reveal together. Overall the Direct was solid.
I personally thought we were going to get an Animal Crossing game at first, since the trailer was animated in Animal Crossing New Leaf's style instead of an actual animated trailer, like the ones we got before. The streamer I was watching was also skeptical whether the trailer was a new Animal Crossing game or if it was a character reveal trailer for Smash. So it was more like a juke, but in the end, we got double juked when they announced a new Animal Crossing. So basically, I think the unique and also unusual animation style for the trailer is what threw some people off at first, hence their surprise.
