Smash Journeyman
Since I want to go to 4th place atleast, I'm thinkin a 50/30/15/5 split, seems the most reasonable.
So in your scenario of $1 entry and 20 people 1st would get $10, 2nd $6, 3rd $3, and 4th gets their entry fee of $1 back. Of course these are all doubled if we do a $2 entry.
Because it really isn't a large sum of money(considering a low turnout like 20 or so) we can probably bypass the whole giftcards thing and just give you the money. I mean really getting giftcards that small is just ridiculous. I'll still have to talk with the other officers of TGL to get the ok on this, but I think they'll be cool with it.
I really just want some more people to consistantly show up, and other than offer the incentive of a prize from entry fees I can't do much. Like I said before, last time we tried this it deterred what few people we did have from coming, so I'm gonna start out super light with these. I know $10 or $20 isn't much, but its something. Remember the more people that show the bigger it gets.
Now if players were influenced to up the entry based on the new splits or something(which I highly doubt will ever happen) to let say $5 or so, then we would probably have to go back to gift cards.
Basically its all up to the players, and since only 4 or 5 of you are actually on smashboards I can't really say what'll happen. School starts in about 2 months, so I still have time to try and perfect some things. I think another complaint we were getting was no free play, and we really have no control over that since we can only bring what tvs and cubes we have with limited dependence on others bringing setups. But that's a different matter all together.
