I completely agree. The Snake gameplay vid was my favorite so far.
The combat definitely looks pretty fast (which I'm happy about) and it's shaping up to look like an excellent game! It would be pretty safe to assume they are just polishing the game at this point right? I mean they must have most everything done if the game is due to be out in just under 2 months.

One more thing, I like it when the # of lines increase when you choose a high difficutly. The Intense symbol looks best of them. :p
Normal is smash bros logo. The extra lines in intense is nice

I wonder what the clear 83% in the background in that screenshot means...
This looks like the amount of the "sky world" the player has completed.

The over world map is interesting, mostly because of a lack of a "space world". Im wondering about Samus and Fox.... will they get worlds that represent them? If so, this probably isnt the WHOLE world map.

On top of that I'm wondering if its possible to find secrets in levels to unlock new paths, ala, Kirby or Starfox.

I like the fact that player 2 isn't as important as player 1. Now I don't have to beat my brother up when he messes up in co-op mode :D

Or you can beat him up anyway, not having to worry about him messing up your game.

Always reaffirm your leadership.

I'm glad to see that Very Easy got the kick. I'm looking forward to tackling Intense with my friend. Brawl has become more epic than I had originally given credit to.

Original Prediction: Melee 2.

Current Predition: Halo 3 killer. Halo 3 was epic, don't get me wrong, but this gives so much more to do, and I just care more about Nintendo then Microsoft. Plus, Halo 3 is more cat and mouse then it should be when playing Multiplayer over Live. You run around, and whoever sees who first wins in most occasions. In Smash, it's all out talent vs. talent.

Now if you excuse me, I'm off to drool over the updates some more.

when i first saw team in the dojo i thought, oh crap another update i already know that is in the game, team melee in multiplayer.... But then i saw the light, and it was good. Team adventure mode (or co-op campaign [thats what im calling it!!]) is nice, i have always wanted to two or FOUR player adventure mode.

The announcement of Co-op tells me something. The Subspace emissaries...WILL OWN!!!
I wonder if there will be another campaign (that's what im calling it!!!) other that Subspace Emissaries.
Probably not, but it would be cool.

I'd say that yeah, this is probably not the whole map. I'd be willing to bet it extends, at the very least, towards the right.

And there being "secret" stages and such based on how much you explored of the levels is so much like HAL's usual modus operandi you might be completely right. If Kirby games have taught us anything, is that Hal loves to encourage exploration.

This is gonna be a classic game with Super Mario Bros 3, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Chrono Trigger, etc.

I just know it. Smash Bros really has gone a long way.

Too bad, I'm gonna end up playing Subspace alone but there's still Online Mode :D

I find myself caring more about the actual Subspace details than being able to play co-op. Since, if co-op isn't over Wifi (which I doubt it will be), my local friends would either irritate me too much and my step brothers suck too much at the game. I'd rather play alone.

The map and other details are what interest me more. The map intrigues me, as it looks like they might actually be trying to tie every Nintendo franchise together into one world; previously I was worried that Subspace was going to be filled with bland, generic worlds and that it was going to be boring to look at. Also, I like how it appears to have a mission- or even event-based progression.

Most of all, I like how it is certainly locking you in to playing certain characters at certain parts of the story. I've always strived to be well-experienced with every character in Melee, and it drives me up a fuggin' wall when other people play with me and refuse to play all but one character for the entire 6 hours we're playing, because they're too lazy to learn how to use other characters. It'll force experience if people really want to get the most out of Adventure Mode, which is awesome because Melee's you could complete with your best character and unlock pretty much everything.

Lastly, the difficulty modes. I'm hoping this actually means a scale in difficulty, but there are still five modes compared to Melee's five. Who's to say that Brawl's Intense is just Melee's Very Hard? One of those things we'll have to wait until release to find out for sure.

Non-Dojo related, I love how the Dojo Updates forum is completely worthless now since no one bothers to keep up-to-date with making a thread for every update.

I love that this basically kind of confirms branching storylines and formation of teams in Adventure mode as well. It also tells us that Pit doesn't meet up with Fox, as many had speculated. But Mario. Maybe they land in the same place, or collide in the air?
Pit could still meet up with Fox AFTER Mario....

Does everyone realize that player two doesn't get to choose their character right off the bat?
They only get to play with the characters that intertwine with the main character.

Just pointing that out.

I don't know if someone has said this before, but...

Smash Bros Site said:
There’s a method for powering yourself up as needed to do battle with the Subspace Army—a method that has not been seen before.
...Upgradeable characters?

I pray geno isn't in.

On topic, this co-op mode is going to rock, especially since my friend's parents (AKA the Nazis) won't let him buy the game. thatmenas he'll be coming 'round to my house to play it, and we will be able to rock it out together on that ther (ther, not there) Supspace Emissary.
When Geno is in I'm gonna laugh...

...Still don't see why people disslike him though

I would expect it to be as long as your average Kirby Game.... Which means not too long, but still better than Melee's horrible Adventure Mode. Still, 20 hours is expecting a bit too much, don't forget this is still a fighting game and won't focus THAT much in single player. (Even if this game's Single Player should kick melee's butt a thousand times)

Well he is a star in a puppet who shoots stars.

Don't get me wrong I USED to like him but the more I thought about it, it just didn't click with me. I'm not totally omg why would you say that, like I am tingle, but I feel there are better choices.coughmegamancough.

On topic. That last thing that sakurai said interested me. I wonder what it could be. It would be great to see a super mode. Like super sonic. Not final smashes everywhere just all your powers upgraded.

hmm... it would be interesting if that last line meant actual powerups which would permenately make the characters stronger in the subspace... maybe even alternate moves you could get and switch out with your old attacks?

Great update, great week. I hope that isn't the whole map and I think that purple blob is a part of the map swallowed by Subspace, maybe the Colosseum?

This game is so awesome I think my Wii will explode. When Brawl is released society will just cease to exist. Criminals? There will be no crime. Police? There won't be police. Terrorists? No more. They will all be playing co-op on Intense mode.

I simply dislike him because he's another mario character, and he can take up a potential square enix spot in brawl (although if a SE character gets in along geno, then I'll be perfectly fine with it....but that still doesn't change the fact that geno still sucks as a character.)

but anyway, co-op mode is awesome. reminds me of the good ol days of the arcade. only with smash. and thats awesome. yeah.

Or perhaps *gasp* gaining experience and character levels? And equipable upgrades? Smash Bros meets Castleroid (or metroidvania)

Hey, it could happen.

People have yet to start to making a point of that this update gives us a slightly deeper glimpses into the Subspace Emissary.

Apparently, there is an over world map. Suggesting that we can save our single player game, and even go back a level and play it again. Further more Sakurai seems to be making an effort to place everything, notice there are two castles and a ruin. the central one may be the Fire Emblem Castle, due to the fact that stage has a lot of desert like area around it. The upper one may be Hyrule Castle, merely a guess on my part; but I don't know what the ruins in the bottem right may be.
We all know that every game has ruins so it could be anything, like the ruins in metriod,
i think one of the kirby games had ruins, ect..

What if the "greater rewards" you get from beating harder difficulties are EXPERIENCE POINTS (or some other form of currency), that would be attached to your username/mii/whatever, and you were able to use that to unlock new stuff - like trophies, CDs, stickers, alternate costumes, items, etc.

Similarly they could be the "means of powering up your character."
