Now you can play with two players in adventure mode, that exceeds my expectations, what do you think?

it's a human player or just something of a backup, sakurai says:
Player 2 is kind of like another option.
And it also seems that you can have a new character for each life, another awesome choice I wonder how this would affect the whole, each character has a different story in the subspace argument.

All your team has the same stock so is not 3 lives for each character. :(

I was actually really hoping for a co-op mode, but the whole thing about player 2 being extra kinda disappoints me cuz then it's not really an even game. Player 1 gets the special treatment and if player 1 dies then it seems like it's game over. If the subspace emissary is even slightly fun and feels like a good adventure, I'm sure I'll have a ton of fun playing it with other people. Just another thing to do in smash once you start getting bored of the same old thing, and that can never hurt. I'm happy with the update, but it isn't up to par with what I expect a Friday update should be.

Its probably easier for them to add on a second player to it by making everything still depend on player 1....

This is kinda like how Sonic 2 had multiplayer as the second person could be tails, but you basically followed around the first player the entire time.

I see this as making Subspace the first thing I play when I get the game though :D

I love that this basically kind of confirms branching storylines and formation of teams in Adventure mode as well. It also tells us that Pit doesn't meet up with Fox, as many had speculated. But Mario. Maybe they land in the same place, or collide in the air?

Colliding into the air would be so funny. It would go like this:
*Kid Icarus Underworld Theme Plays*

Pit flies downward and then Mario collides into him because of Petey in the beginning.

Two things I'd like to know:

1. Will this support wi-fi?

2. Can't people wait for the official threads or post in some of the larger discussions?

EDIT: Oh yeah.

INTENSE!!!

People have yet to start to making a point of that this update gives us a slightly deeper glimpses into the Subspace Emissary.

Apparently, there is an over world map. Suggesting that we can save our single player game, and even go back a level and play it again. Further more Sakurai seems to be making an effort to place everything, notice there are two castles and a ruin. the central one may be the Fire Emblem Castle, due to the fact that stage has a lot of desert like area around it. The upper one may be Hyrule Castle, merely a guess on my part; but I don't know what the ruins in the bottem right may be.

Wow, the way co-op works in Brawl, with survival depending on P1 and P2 being able to warp back to P1, is very, VERY similar to co-op in Kirby's Super Star. Which is a very good thing. Co-op was what made Kirby's Super Star my favorite Kirby game.

Sakurai, me love you LONG TIME

This is the best possible way to enhance the adventure mode experience. No more long hours playing through story mode with each character all by yourself (unless you trade off).

Absolutely awesome. I cannot wait to get this game. My friend and I are going to play the crap out of this mode!

This was a perfect update to finish off the week with! I cannot WAIT to play co-op with my friends!

But, if you choose a harder difficulty, your rewards will be greater. That’s another part of the fun.
^.^

Wonder what characters we'll get through the Subspace Emissary, eh?

Off-Topic: Just ordered my Wiimote jackets. Four of them, btw.
On-Topic: Awesomeness. And we see we have a world map. If this game doesn't shout Kirby, I don't know what does.

That was rude of you, you could have at least commented on my findings or something instead of pointing at another topic and laughing.
Ah, my apologies. I got a little too hyper to think straight because I find the "intense" difficulty strangely hilarious. \o/ isn't laughing, by the way. Although... it gets close.

It's an interesting thought to replay a level... I think some Kirby games had parts where you unlocked paths to new levels and such... It seems more like a linear platformer to me, though.
Hmm, the locations on the map raise the question of how many separate storylines there will be... Link and Yoshi were seen standing in a deserted plain, too...

But, really, discussion about the mode itself should go in the official topic for it. Makes it far easier to follow than when it's spread all over the place.

I've noticed how some Kirby Super Star elements have become Smash elements. Remember All-Star mode in Melee? When you're in the recovery area, where you have Maxim Tomatoes available, what music is playing? That's right! The save area music from Kirby Super Star! Now the Co-op mode seems to be in the same style as well.

Incidentally, I would be stoked if Marx was one of the Smash Bosses.

its not Maximum Tomatoes...All-Star has Heart Containers...

this update is made of eternal badassness....and I guess it kinda confirms that you unlock characters as you go....although Im pretty sure everyone figured that out already...

now all we need is for Sakurai to confirm Item Switch for 1-Player Mode...

the thing that i liked most about this update was the INTENSE level for the CPU opponents. One can play with friends at their place, on the internet, and now have more of a challenge alone. co-op sounds cool tool. lol, good update.

I wonder. Shouldn't there be a Very Easy difficulty level. I find it odd to add Intense, but remove the easiest level of them all.
