Well, it is being released the second week of August. A fighting game of a few of your favorite Tales of characters such as Luke fon Fabre, Cress, and Yuri.

Anybody thinking of grabbing it? It may not be a mothership title, but would you think it worth it? This game will not have any online capabilities, which is a major disappointment.

Many people think of this as a Dissidia rip-off, just with a Tales of battle mechanism. I personally would buy this later on. It isn't something to be made that competitive, especially with fighting games like TMNT: Smash Up and Blazblue being released soon. Dissidia is released two weeks after ToVs, so ToVs just might be a game to pick up, play, and trade back in.

I swear we've had so many Tales threads but they just keep on dying...
Anyways, my preorder is set up. Importing the game on day one.
Maining Leon for obvious reasons.

@Chris Lionheart, it's for PSP

Also, I don't think it's a Dissidia rip off at all. There are so many fighting games with cross-overs. There's the Capcom VS series, Jump Super Stars, Castlevania, and more.
I'm really looking forward to this game though.

Tales is popular as an RPG series, not a fighter, and it probably won't be. TMNT is a mothership title for the series, PLUS they have had a hit fighting game earlier in its history. ToVs isn't mothership as I have stated, plus it is a fighting game for one gaming series, like Dissidia, and not multiple ones, like the Marvel vs Capcom series and Capcom vs SNK.

Genis has not been announced, and he probably won't be.

-Gonna kick ToS fanboy *** with Reid. Get at me.
I really want to play through Eternia again, it was a pretty awesome game.
Guess I should import that with VS, huh.

I haven't played any RM games, so I don't know how some of the characters will play.
Leon better be good.

Having a hit fighter and being a competitive fighter are 2 totally different things. Turtles (and tales) Will be about as competitive as power stone(Which isn't a bad thing cause powerstone is still fun) But if any game was to be competitive it would be tales and not turtles.

Besides Dissidia is actually a competitive game and with the rebalanced cast and new additions to the NA version it might actually go somewhere.

True, but the way I see it, it won't be as competitive as most would wish considering it isn't online, so it couldn't possibly become mainstream as far as real competitive gaming. Would people really meet up in person just to battle with an Ad-Hoc PSP fighter? Doubtedly. If so, it would be a meet and greet and not a tournament of sorts.

Besides, most competitive games become hit anyway, though vice versa isn't always true.

Anyway, this is a Tales fighter, this has been dreamed of for years.

I'm a huge 'Tales' nerd, so this would be right up my alley. PSP though...I loves me some PSP, but I can't help but think that it's a bit unresponsive when it comes to fighting games, so that's a bit of a disappointment. I would've loved to see a console release and the full treatment for this one.

But, alas.

EDIT: Presea? They just sold me on that one. ^^

EDIT EDIT: And there's Phantasia love! Insta-buy!

Awesome. Great list, but Luke AND Asch? I sense character abuse.
They should keep one of them, probably Luke, being the main character of his game and all, and replace the other with Yuan.

...What? I'm not biasedly suggesting they inclued a sub-character just because they're my favorite.

Who cares? You can if you want. lol

And wow, Yuan would be a cool choice. I haven't played Vesperia or Dawn of the New World. I am quite behind, and with the inclusion of Japan-only Tales games, there are a lot more characters I do not know.

Eh. I know almost nothing of Japan-only games, but played both Vesperia and DotNW/KoR, both okay, but not ToS or TotA level if you ask me. That and my copy of Vesperia got damaged and now I can't enter certain places including the last dungeon.

Yes, Yuan would be awesome and you know it. If I had a PSP to play the game, I would probably soonest try Senel and Richter. If Jade's like he was in TotA, he may just be too slow for my taste in this kind of game.

I am sure that Jade will be made more melee than he was in ToA. I can also see him using his spear with magical properties. Same with Tear, who also has her throwing knives.

Yeah, I'm sure they realize if they kept them basically the same, the magic-main people wouldn't stand a chance against much of any physical characters, especially not any of the main characters I know, let alone the ones I don't know anything about. Normally Jade vs. Lloyd wouldn't last five seconds, so hopefully this is true.

Right now, you are going to go play Vesperia and love every second of it. Yuri is a good person, Rita is funny, Raven says some of the best quotes ever.

Following that you're going to get Dawn of the New World. Break the cd and and burn the shards. If you play ToS2, you'll destroy ToS1 and all you will hear is "I'm sorry..." and see people leaving the god **** party

I have a feeling Shing's not going to be very good... I hope he at least plays decently since he has some interesting techs.
And Ruca seems to be getting pretty beaten up in his video. O__o.

As for including Asch, I don't mind him. He has quite a few different techs than Luke, so he's fine. I'm just annoyed at the huge rep in Abyss characters. Then again, that'd be hypocritical of me since Destiny's getting in quite a bit of characters as well.

And again... Rebirth gets no love in every Tales crossover.
