I wrote this as a sarcastic way of pointing out some common mistakes I see people make with zelda. If you agree or disagree with me let me know. This isn't ment to be taken personally by anyone. It's the internet for crying out loud and the zelda boards need a bit of attitude anyway.

The Ten Commandments:
First Commandment: Thou shall lookest before thou smashest. Lest ye whiff the smash and get pwned.

Second Commantment: Ye be not above using the “down and B” as a playstyle that is pleasing and legitimate.

Third Commandment: Thou shall not mindlessly spam thy holy fire from the gods. For “teh fier!” is a sacred covenant that shall not be taken lightly lest ye be punished.

Fourth Commantment: Thou shall not be predictable in thine approaches. Thine enemies canst see a f-air from a mile away.

Fifth Commandment and the most sacred of them all: Remember the downward ground attacks and use them often.

Sixth Commandment: Thou shall not repeat recovery mistakes. If thine opponent edge-hogs you then landest on the stage in thine next life.

Seventh Commandment: Thou shall not fly on thine holy wind into thine foe every single time. Lest thee wishest to be groped from behindeth a shield.

Eight Commandment: Thou shall not cast thine enemy towards safety when casting thine holy crystal shield. If ye does not desireth the advantage then thou shall not use a “reverse naryu’s love” and thou shalt be a nub.

Ninth Commandment: Thou shall keep track of thine position and attemptest to maintain an advantage.

Tenth Commantment: Thou shall not lose lest the Hylian Princess be cast further down the list of tiers.

Translation
First Commandment: Spamming forward and up smash does not make you a good player. Anyone with that pays attention will be able to punish you.

Second Commandment: Sheik/Zelda is a legitimate play-style in its own respects. Don’t be like me and troll people who advocate it (<3 sonic the hedgedawg).

Third Commandment: Yes din’s fire is a good move. Now stop using it because you don’t know what else to use. While it is true that it can be difficult to get around by some people (who have no idea what’s going on) careless spamming of this move is a bad thing that can hinder progression.

Fourth Commandment: It doesn’t need translated. If you approach with F-air or something like that and use the same approach over and over again you will be punished by someone with a basic grasp of this game. You don’t have to attack every time you run at someone. Grabs are a good thing.

Fifth Commandment: I <3 Dtilt/Dsmash and everyone else should.

Sixth Commandment: Again I don’t think I need to translate this. Some people say to always go for the ledge. Sure, why not. But if someone understands the timing and can edgehog you the DON’T go for the ledge.

Seventh Commandment: I know farore’s wind has a hitbox when you reappear. That does not make it a good idea to always teleport into your opponent. Much like other sloppy mistakes this one can be punished by anyone who’s paying attention.

Eighth Commandment: Some people use Naryu’s Love as a panic button just to get some space. I understand that but take some time or at least pre-plan and consider what puts you at an advantage. If they’re off the stage you’re at an advantage. Don’t send them towards the middle of the stage if you don’t have to.

Ninth Commandment: Zelda is a precision character. Position means a lot to her. You always want to try and position yourself or your opponent so that you have the advantage. Below them or on even ground is always better than being above someone. Being on the stage is better than being off and them off the stage is better than being on.

Tenth Commandment: If you want Zelda to move up on the tier list then do something about it. Think about what you’re doing, don’t play a sloppy auto-pilot version of her. Get out, go to tourneys and learn more about the game and other characters. It’s the only way she’ll move up. “Logical” arguments on a public forum don’t have that much of an impact. If anything I encourage everyone to keep playing and to experience what the smash community has to offer outside of SWF.

lol, I like this, its pretty good actually, another commandment is though shall learn Teleport Cancel, its soo good, & if you haven't tried it, your missing out. Try it on Battlefield if you've never done it, position yourself a little bit away from the block of wood in the middle of the stage & Up-B towards the ledge. With TP Cancel you can edgehog & kick or any aerial with a second jump if you do it correctly. If you jump after TP Cancel, you can fair then position yourself under the platform for a u-air kill!!

Or, teeter on any edge and FW backwards.

Turn around, take one step towards the ledge, and FW forwards at the SAME but OPPOSITE angle. Ta-da, easy ledgewarp on any stage!
