Yeah....I feel its time I give this game a breather for a while. I got a lot of reasons behind this decision, and I do plan to come back eventually.
-life stuff.
Life has been extremely busy for me this year, and school and work have always, always, ALWAYS taken precedence over smash for me. Considering I need to do well this semester to keep up the pace from my Dean's list last semester, and the fact I have to do more internship hunting to do, during which I've learned they have no sympathy for close enough(I'll get into that in a bit), I don't want to screw this up. As for the summer, I will likely have an internship at home in Pittsburgh. Considering there is no scene whatsoever there, I really won't have any time to play minus with a couple friends, and maybe 1 tourney. This is all assuming I'm not going to be working weekends, and since I'm going to be an intern, the safe bet is I'll be getting the worst hours a.k.a weekends. I personally don't mind it, I need money for college stuff and for a new pc because mine is starting to wear out.
Anyway, about the internships. My cumulative gpa is a 2.88, because I started off in engineering, learned it wasn't for me the hard way, and had a terrible freshman year. I'm in IST now(Information sciences and Technology), have a 3.49 in-major GPA, and I made Dean's list last semester. Yet almost every single company I went to to look for job essentially told me to **** off instantly only because my cumulative GPA isn't a 3.0. I was devastated. It made me hate my freshman year even more because it had come back to haunt me. I had never regretted something so much in my life after that. And even though I know I have fixed the problem, there's nothing I can do to change the past. The reason why I want to do amazing again this semester is because if I get Dean's list again, my cumulative gpa will finally reach 3.0 and I can get this bad memory away out of my head.
-This game is boring to me now.
3 Years straight of playing a game typically does this to you, but regardless, I'm really freaking bored of brawl to say the least. I started losing interest after MLG, but played mainly because of the community, which I feel is the best I've seen in a game.
-The costs.
Due to my location, its extremely hard on my wallet to travel to tourneys. With few exceptions, the shortest travel time to tourneys for me is 2 and a half hours. And these would be Ohio tourneys, not Philly ones, lol. Philly tourneys are 6 hours from me at home, 3 at college. I don't mind the distances; I'm used to it by now. But its the money for gas and housing if I can't get any that kills me.
The earliest I see myself coming back is in the Fall. I'll still be around and posting, but don't expect me at any tourneys. Until then, keep on smashing.
