Honestly, I don't think that's fair. It may surprise some of you diehard Nintendo fans, but there are a lot of people out there who just haven't heard of certain Nintendo franchises due to never seeing anything about them or any commercials or just not playing those games to begin with. It's not stupid, just another possibility.

Well, if you know that there's more then Mario and Wii Sports, you definitely not casual.
If he's sincerely just curious and not a troll, then he's displaying behavior antithetical to idiocy. He's doing a sensible thing by asking the Super Smash Bros. community to explain what Smash Bros is. What would've been idiotic would be asking that question to his local representative, or Yahoo Answers.
To be fair.
I knew Pokemon, Mario, Zelda and Sonic. Nothing else. I thought Kirby was a Mario character. Then I found Smash Bros. and everything was answered.
Yeah that's the thing.
"Sanic" is generally a joke name given to Sonic.

Welp, I give up...
When I originally played Smash Bros 64, I always thought Samus and Captain Falcon were related (as in being in the same game, not actual relatives) because you first fight Falcon on Brinstar/Planet Zebes.
I can just imagine this as a 90's sitcom too, complete with a Steve Urkel/Carlton Banks expy.

For one, I'm beginning to think he has kind of an obsession. Especially with this, "Ridley".

Heck, he even has pictures about "Ridley".
He also seems to like this "Yoshi", as well.
But, he's even made a "personality" for the big dragon.
As you've seen (and from the other posts).
He defines Ridley as a "Optimistic totally radical playboy".
But even then, he also dives into his relationships.
Specifically with Samus.
But even then, he claims that this relationship, could get intimate.
Heck, he even wonders about the future.
But, likes, also have dislikes as well.
The first, seems to be, what he calls the "GF".
At first, you'd probably assume Gamefreak.
Well, it actually means "Galactic Federation".
Closer inspection shows the they've fought this "Ridley" and his cohorts numerous times.
And, he took offense to it.

Another thing seems to be this "Anti-Ridley" crowd.
I don't think there are any more words to describe this.
Now, being one of the latter half in the "pro/anti" argument, I personally call stereotypes.
Sure, many call that. But even the worst of us know that's too cliche.
I've given my reasons why.
