Okay Guys here it is:

THE SYRACUSE SMASH TOURNAMENT

date: September 20

place: UAW union hall
714 W Manlius St
East Syracuse, NY 13057

Fee:
$10 venue fee
$10 singles
$20 doubles

sign-up times: 11am-1pm

game times:

Melee (singles then doubles) - 2 pm - 4 pm

Brawl ( singles then doubles) - 5 pm - 7 pm

Prizes - 7 :30 ( raffle prizes will be drawn as well for anyone to win )


Rules:

double elimination

3 Stock

8 minute timer

Items are set to "off" and "none"

All sets with the exception of winner's finals, loser's finals, and the championship are best of 3 matches (best of 5 "finals" matches)

In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors

No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.

In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion

If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.

Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.

If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.

You are responsible for your own controller and name tag.
Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.

Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

Stalling is banned.

Me and the Rochester Crew would attend. We are strictly melee though. And im saying you should just cut out the Themed tournaments and keep them legit.

Im currently working with a buddy of mine who knows the owner of a local comic book/gaming store.
hopefully we can get some promoting and spread the word with his help. this is not definate yet though im going to speak with him this thursday

I'd try to go. I'd probably only show for the bigger (brawl) tourneys though. Going from one city to another everyday is almost impossible, even considering how close I am to Syracuse. It'd be awesome, I bet! I wouldn't worry on making too many, though.

And yeah, themed ones seem like a stretch.

Just spoke with cloud city comics owner ( local comic book/game store) in the works for getting a lot of promoting and hopefully many smashers out there will hear of this.(I'm already expecting at least 15-20 people as of now that I have spoke with around my area ) I'm shooting for august 2 but this is not set in stone yet soo I will post a date, times, and more details asap.

I honestly don't think September is a good month, just because more people will have freedom in August. Late to mid August would probably still be okay... Just a suggestion.

as far as an attedance list, I will work on one if you really want, but the people i put on it would def. have to come and i can see many saying they will and not showing up so i think its kind of pointless
