So besides using your shirt/pants to wipe your hands/controller, are there any useful tips on how to deal with it?

I was thinking maybe some sort of powder, or kleenex or something. What do you think?

Stay in a cooled environment is one thing you could do, but you also have to figure out why you're sweating. Are you overweight? Nervous? There's often a trigger for this. I kinda wonder actually why no one has modded a controller to have a mini fan with airholes in it...I think that'd be cool. We need to get pbnj on that **** like yesterday.

I deadlift with weightlifting chalk, which completely dries out your hands. You could give that a try, but I don't know how good it would be to get that stuff underneath the buttons and such.

Its actually not good to have your hands completely dry either. A little moisture increases grip, but when it becomes a puddle its bad.

If its a nerves issue, you might be able to solve that and eliminate your problem. Personally, I wipe my hands between every stock and sometimes during stocks.

Chalking up very obviously increases grip. Undisputed.

Wash your hands before using the controller, and if need be wash them between sets. Also, if your hands are getting sweaty this most likely means you are getting nervous while playing, which during friendlies or otherwise does no good.

My advice to you. The best way to keep from getting nervous is to concentrate on the match, and literally nothing but the match, don't even think about the fact that you are playing against another person, in fact it helps me to think of my opponent as a cpu that adapts.....sometimes one that doesn't adapt. :p

Carry a towel with you. And a small bottle with diluted soda or natron to quickly get rid of grease before you use the towel.

Pay me to put a fan in your controller. I've yet to do it to my own controller, but I plan on ordering the fan tomorrow and trying it. If the fan I've found will fit, that's 3.1CF/M of air through the controller. Will post pics.

Antiperspirants with aluminum chloride as their primary ingredient. The chloride part is important. I think the stuff I found was called Dri-On or something. It is meant for underarm use only, but I've seen it used by people with hyperhidrosis on their hands. It works.

I don't doubt that works since the aluminum helps by getting in the pours of your skin and effectively blocks your sweat from leaving your body. But there have been studies on this and some believe it to be very unhealthy to use deodorants with aluminum in them. If you find this interesting please look into it.

If my hands get sweaty, I use it to my advantage. I find it much easier to multishine if my hands are a little sweaty.

So I got around to actually putting the fan in. I've already made a full post on it so if you want more details you can read this quote of myself or go to the thread.
[collapse=Muh Quote]
I went ahead and bought more LED's. This time I bought 10 Slow Changing RGB LED's and 27 OHM 1/8W resistors. The order should be here on Saturday or so. The previous LED's that I bought were green but they weren't very bright and when I put in three it was barely lit. The new LED's change colors, use less energy and I should be able to fit three in there and be brighter than the two green ones.

Here's a picture of the controller with the Green LED's that are going to change:

I came home on Adderal after a tournament on Saturday so I decided to focus on getting both the LED controller and my Fan controller done. The Fan mod actually works pretty well but I'm sure I could make it better. The current fan that is in my controller is 25mmX25mmX10mm and has 3.5 CF/M airflow. I only put holes on the left handle for intake and on the back I made a slit and a hole for exhaust. The current fan gives a nice amount of air and isn't too loud (not any louder than a room of clacking controllers anyways) but I only have holes on the left side of the controller since if both sides had them it wouldn't be much air at all. Even then, this isn't as much air as I'd like.

Intake:

Exhaust:

Fan:

I drilled the holes with a metal pointed screw driver thing, I'm not sure what the tool is actually for but it works. I then cut the excess with a razor blade and made it smooth. The fan normally will not fit with the unmodified rumble housing so I cut off most of it by using a hot soldering iron and razor blade. Make sure to leave the + thing there otherwise it will move around.

I ordered a new fan that's 35x35x10 and has 6.5 CF/M which I'm pretty sure will fit. I could make the intake and exhaust much more neat by using a dremel tool (which I don't have) and making slits aiming down (heat raises) instead of holes and sanding it down so it's smooth. I really need to repaint my controller lol..

I would be happy to do this for others if they payed me for the parts and service, otherwise have your own crack at it.

EDIT: WOOO! 100th post. I can't wait to see what my first thread will look like.

One more edit:
I have been playing a LOT of Melee lately and as you can tell I'm very rough on my controller. The stick that I put in my controller specifically didn't have a rubber top on a plastic top. The entire thing was plastic which I liked because I sweat and my fingers easily rub off of rubber. The top finally broke off and was pretty sharp for a while but after playing with it for a couple days my thumb callused over. When I got home I took a metal file to it and made it a nub. I call it the Nipple. I find it much easier to play with it since there's no rubber and I can be pretty precise with it.
