You have never seen awfulness until you seen Wild Grinders.

That animation quality is awful and looks like it was stuck in 2003. Plus the plot was just really Rocket Power but with less fun and it was in a time where Extreme Sports like Skateboarding popularity died and hasn't been relevant in YEARS

There's also a show called Da Boom Crew. Oh damn, that show right there

Well let's see what tomorrow brings. Even if it's nothing, only have to wait until Thursday for Pokken.
Speaking of Pokken, I found this. Not sure if it's completely legit (so fill free to tear it apart if need be), but:

If you guessed Sceptile, you guessed correctly!

Give me some examples.
Where to begin, where to begin?

- One character save a person with a heart attack in the middle of a concert by replacing his heart with a pickle without any doctor skills or tools (and he lived)
- One wanted to get super powers after reading a comic of "Walrus Woman" who got her powers by being bitten by a radioactive walrus. So the character walked to the arctic are in an area filled with radioactive walruses to hopefully get it.

Now imagine this kind of random stuff happening every 15 seconds throughout the entire half-hour show.

If only the water type starter got in too.
He's never been as popular as the other two :'(

Uhhhh... How appropriate that we're talking about poorly animated shows, because I found this...

This was from last year... Good god, this makes Boom's animation look like Pixar.

The worst thing about uncle grandpa,is that his main title-joke doesn't work in my country,he would be only the equivalent of a
great-uncle here.

I literally just watched that entire show today. I posted a screenshot earlier.

I actually recommend it to any SEGA fan.

And to be fair, it's really low budget. It's made in MMD, which is free to use. Also to a degree, some of the lackluster animation is intentional and adds to the charm of the show, since the characters are literally inside of various SEGA video games.

Also Boom has really good animation.

The constant joke about the character,is that he is an innuendo about incest, really.

It gets worse on the PT dubbing, because you know what is supposed to be,but they keep trying.

Boom has good models, lighting, expressions and color quality. The animation, when you break it down, is really, REALLY stiff.

Even as a Die Hard Sega guy, I'll just take your word on that show... How bizzare, man.

Part of that is due to Boom intentionally using 2D animation techniques in 3D, which is actually kind of rare. I personally really like it though, it's unique and blends to styles that I often have a hard time choosing between.

Just look at SegaNintendoUbisoft SegaNintendoUbisoft 's sig GIF to see what I mean. It looks stiff, and Sonic's movements are sudden, but it's intentional. It's converting some 2D animation techniques into 3D. 3D animation typically doesn't have as many "sudden" movements like that, it's usually all very fluid, but Sonic Boom sometimes strikes this bizarre middle ground. It's very unorthodox and I can understand some people not getting it, but as an animation nerd, I find it fascinating and funny to look at. And overall, very unique.

As for Sega Hard Girls, probably the best thing about the show is that one of the main characters is voiced by none other than Yuji Naka himself.

AAAAAUGH SOMEONE MAKE THIS AN OFFICIAL THING ALREADY.

Seriously, I miss the little blue abominations. I'm enough of a loser that I'd buy a Chao game, Sega. :V

Boom's animation can either be really good, or really stiff. It really depends on the episode, though the action sequences always look a little off.

I seriously don't know why Sega doesn't make a Chao spinoff game, the demand is there.

FF7R is episodic.

Likely going to be 3 parts (1 for each disc)

Not sure how to feel about this

This might not be a bad thing as it could mean getting the game sooner.

As long as each episode has about 10-15 hours of story content I think it will be fine.

That's... hm. I have mixed feelings too. I'd like it all at once, but I suppose if they only split it like they would the 3 disks (so that we at least have a good third of the game each time) and don't charge each as their own full price game, I can live with it.

To replicate the real PS1 experience :troll:
But discs are too expensive nowadays to be sold 2 for the price of one, so let's split it into MORE PARTS AND MAKE PEOPLE BUY EACH ONE OF THEM!

Not sure where you got that, but I'm hoping that if that statement is true/real that it means that the FFVII family (includes crisis core and advent children) is being remade and that it's not just the original....

My hopes and dreams are dying, aren't they?

Embrace your dreams.

As they said in Crisis Core... Unobtainable dreams are the best kind.

GOD Crisis Core is so well written.

Either
A. People are obnoxious
or
B. It's that time of year where religion is brought up from all the religious holidays

Unrelated but I hate when games where you run 99% of the time have a specific run button. Make a walk button and make running the default if im only going to run. I have only walked once in FF7 because you need to apparently. I would rather not have to have my finger glued to the 'X' key all the time -_-

What worries me is that they make it sound like a "best FF7 moments" and not a full remake.

Not quite.

Otaku can be looked down upon in Japan as much as they are in the West, if not more.

However, I should note that, whereas we Westerners use the word "otaku" to describe hardcore/obsessive fans of Japanese media, the word "otaku" has a slightly different meaning over there: it means someone obsessed with a particular interest, not just anime. I remember reading something about Iwata in which claimed that he "would be considered an otaku nowadays" (due to his passionate interest in programming and software design).

Basically a more equivalent term to us would be nerd or geek. (Tagging PushDustIn PushDustIn here for some input.)

However, you could say the percentage of (anime/manga/video game) otaku in Japan is bigger than in the West for higher exposure. They're a bigger minority, but still a minority. Nevertheless, it's significant enough so that companies can exclusively exclusively target that niche and secure an audience.

Of note is that people of all ages in Japan read manga, so it's not a niche market over there. There's all sorts of manga spanning multiple literary genres with different degrees of maturity and art styles. There are even manga series aimed at elderly people!

AFAIK, I think that anime doesn't have the same kind of broad appeal as manga, being more primarily aimed at younger audiences, but there's animation targeted at older and niche audiences, usually broadcast at late night and/or on less accessible TV channels (satellite and such).

Let's see how long will you last, then. :demon::chuckle:
Yeah there are many kinds of otaku. For example, train otaku are people who are obsessed with trains.

However, the image of an otaku is a person who is obsessed with anime/ manga/ video games in Japan. The stereotype is they look like this.

Otaku is a negative word. You don't really use it in a positive way (like my friends know I'm a Smash otaku, but I wouldn't introduce myself like that).

Anime is mostly consumed by younger people. Manga is read by all people but it's usually very casual and not 'obsessive'.

Aye, sir (madam?)!

I never got to finish it...
Sir. You could have just clicked on my profile to check, it's not like I'm the only dude with a girl in his avatar here. :V

Crisis Core made me care more about a guy I knew from the start was going to die than one who... Well I ALSO knew was going to die but was intended to be a shock moment. And it did the impossible and made me feel sorry for Sephiroth. Amongst other things.

Honestly, I can see them releasing a Crisis Core HD port (TP HD Style) before 7 Remake hits shelves, and maybe making Advent Children an incentive/bundle for buying all the "Episodes" at once. The movie I mean, not converting it to a game or anything.

So if it's gonna be that massive then expect some major changes like what they will do with Vincent and Yuffie and make them permanent party members, possibly remake Crisis Core and expand on a lot of things.

Also expect Dierge of Cerberus references as well
